Detailed lesson plan in PE 7

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify correctly the fundamental positions of arms and feet in Folkdance through
class discussion
b. elaborate +wholeheartedly the importance of fundamental positions of arms and feet
through oral recitation
c. execute properly the fundamental positions of arms and feet in folkdance through
individual practicum

Topic: fundamental positions of arms and feet in Folkdance
Reference: Physical Education Book p.p 132-138
Materials: Laptop,speaker, projector, folkdance music, visual aid

today, philippine Folkdance: Fundamental
positions of arms and feet in folkdance.
But before that for us to be guided, kindly
read our Objectives Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students
should be able to:

B. Presentation of the lesson

What is folkdance?
(the teacher will explain all about the
following)

-it refers to the dances created and


performed collectively by the ordinary
people.
-the term usually includes : ethnic dances
such as those of the cultural community in
the cordillera, in mindoro, palawan, sulu
and mindanao; and the rural or lowland
christian dances , among the groups like
the ilocano, pangasinan, tagalong,
pampango,bicol, cebuano, ilongo and
waray
-it may also divided into the regional
which refers to dances particular to one
local or area; and the national which
refers to those performed all over the
country
-philippine folkdance are diverse and
include religious, ceremonial,courtship,
funeral, combative, exorcism, comic and
game dances
-filipino ethnic group believe still believe in
the efficacy of dance as means of
communicating with the deity, to plead or
to thank virgin mary and give thanks to
patron saints.

2 types of philippine folkdance


1. Rural(occupational dance)- activities
such as rice production , broom making,
good planning, fishing, tuba making,
gathering of sweet potatoes , fetching of
water , pot making , corn planting have
been reflected in the philippine folkdances
Example:
Tinikling-the tinikling is considered by
many as Philippine NAtional dance. The
dance movement imitate the movement of
tikling bird as it walks around tall grasses
and between tree branches. people
perform using bamboo poles.
itik-itik- the best description of itik-itik is
that, the steps mimic the way a ducks
walk, as well as the way it splashes water
on its back to attract a mate. According to
a popular tradition, the dance was created
by a lady named kanang while
choreographed the steps while dancing at
the baptismal

maglalatik-mock war dance that depicts a


fight over cocout meat . the men of the
dance wear coconut shell as part of their
costumes , and they slap them in rhythm
with the music.

2. spanish inspired- mostly christian


inspired dance. Mostly includes courtship
and wedding dances.
Example:
Carinosa- it is a courtship dance. carinosa
means affectionate and lovable. there are
many versions of this dance, but hide and
seek movementsusing a fan and Yes maam
handkerchief are the most common

Fandango-characterized with lively steps


and clapping while following a varrying 3/4
step.

arm positions

blindfold so that I can test if you really about Philippine festivals with its definition
