ABSTRACT

A study was conducted to determine the Effectivenes of Leguminous Leaves (Moringa

oleifera, Samanea saman and Leucaena leucocephala) in the Growth Performance of Cobb
Broiler (Gallus gallus domesticus) at Pulong Gubat, Balagtas, Bulacan from January 6, 2018 to
February 10, 2018.

Specifically, it aimed to determine the Growth Performance of Cobb broiler in terms of

Average Initial Weight, Average Weekly Gained Weight and Average Final Gained Weight by
mixing Leguminous tree leaves that was air dried such as Malunggay, Acacia and Ipil-ipil. It
serves as a water supplement to the birds.

The researchers used Complete Random Block Design with a total of forty five (45)
straight-run day old Cobb broiler chicks. It has three (3) treatments and it was replicated three
(3) times: Treatment 1 (Malunggay leaves), Treatment 2 (Ipil-ipil leaves) and Treatment 3
(Acacia leaves). Findings showed that Cobb broilers in Treatment 1 obtained the highest
Average Weekly Gain Weight and Average Final Weight among the three treatments.

Furthermore, Analysis of Variance showed that Average Initial Weight has no

significant influence in the growth performance of Cobb broiler. Also, Analysis of Variance in
Average Weekly Gained Weight and Average Final Gained Weight revealed that Leguminous
leaves have significant effect on the Growth Performance of Cobb broiler (Gallus gallus
domesticus).

Based on the findings, the researchers concluded that Leguminous leaves have a
significant effect on the mean data of Growth Performance of Cobb broiler (Gallus gallus
domesticus). And it can be recommend that Malunggay leaves has a great effect on the Growth
Performance of Cobb Broiler (Gallus gallus domesticus).
