Ser Nathar Snow

Bastard
Nathar was born in the North - to Cregan Karstark and Taria Mollen. The two couple never married. Cregan was 31 at the time, and Taria was
around twenty. The Lords of their Houses quickly punished them in their own way, and were forced to never be with one another again. Rickard
Karstark was absolutely shocked that his cousin would do this, and proceeded to treat the Bastard rather harshly, heavily disliking him - though
accepting that he was of his blood and was to be part of his House, no matter how big or small.

At the age of eight, Cregan Karstark saw to it that his bastard son would be trained to become a warrior. Nathar was a troubled youth. He was lonely
and sad, nervous and brooding. He felt out of place, like he didn’t belong at Karhold and was only there because he had nowhere to go.

Nathar grew up with a string of jealousy. He saw his half brothers and half cousins occasionally bantering and having fun. Whenever they’d talk to
him, they’d either make fun of him or humiliate him. Nurturing his hatred for his own family. Only his half sister would pay any positive attention
to him. While his father had forsaken and abandoned him, his sister remained friends with him.

By the time he was sixteen, the Greyjoy Rebellion began. He was a rather well trained warrior for his age. He begged his father to let him fight,
someone who was reluctant - but eventually gave in. Hoping that the bastard would die somewhere along the line.
Ser Nathar “One Ear” Snow
As the war continued on, the Siege of Pyke finally came. Nathar, armed with a bastard sword, charged through the breach with many other ferocious warriors. He
was the sixteenth man to pass through. A rush of bloodlust overcame the young man. He had used his anger of his birth, anger of his family that had hated and
humiliated him for years to fuel him. And as such, he had cut down several Ironborn warriors, one by one he went, his sword striking hard and true. The last
Ironborn warrior caught him by surprise, brandishing the axe and swinging it for his head. Nathar moved his head, but his movement was a little too slow - and it
managed to take his ear - clean off. Nathar quickly screamed and put his left hand onto where his ear was, only a tiny bit remained. Nathar then cut that Ironborn
warrior down, and continued to stab and slash at him for a few moments before one of the other soldiers caused him to snap out of it. At the end of the Siege of
Pyke, a fellow Knight moved him back, and told him to kneel. A few other Knights came around as well, to watch. He was then made into a Knight. A sense of pride
gripped Nathar as he was both surprised and excited - perhaps for the first time in his life. Nathar thereafter sought to give his sword to Stannis Baratheon,
finding him after the Battle was done - conversing with Robert Baratheon.

Nathar waited patiently until the two were done. Nathar placed his sword down, and swore loyalty to Stannis Baratheon that day. Stannis noticed that the man
was missing an ear, and his armor was still bloodied. Nathar swore a vow and joined Stannis at Dragonstone. He was granted his own set of armor and a sword, as
well as a promising bride for his valour in battle. Nathar refused the bride, but took up the sword and armor, as he replied:

“No thank you, My lord. I will not marry to break my loyalty to you, and bring a new woman into my life. I will be your sword. Now, and always. ”
Stannis Baratheon nodded, casting his hand in a wave of dismissal, letting him go.
