 E-GRANTHALAYA: e-Granthalaya is a Library Management Software


developed by National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and
Information Technology, Government of India.
e-Granthalaya is useful for automation of in-house activities of libraries and
to provide various online member services. The software provides built-in
Web OPAC interface to publish the library catalog over Internet. The
software is UNICODE Compliant thus, supports data entry in local languages.
Latest version of e-Granthalaya i.e. Ver.4.0 is a 'Cloud Ready Application'
and provides a Web-based data entry solution in enterprise mode with a
centralized database for cluster of libraries.
e-Granthalaya 4.0 uses PostgreSQL - an Open Source DBMS as back-end
database solution and is made available in NIC National Cloud for
Government Libraries on request basis with hosting of application and
databases for online access
 Openbiblio: (2002) It is an open source Integrated Library System. The
software is popular with small and rural libraries worldwide due to its
simplicity, extensive language support, and good documentation.

 WEBLIS: It is a Web based Library Integrated System based on CDS/ISIS. The system
has been developed by the Institute for Computer and Information Engineering (ICIE),
Poland, based on their experience in building library systems for international
organizations such as FAO, IFAD and GTZ. WEBLIS runs through the WWW-ISIS
engine, also developed by ICIE.

 Sanjay:(1995) The NISSAT sponsored a project to DESIDOC for developing


programmes on UNESCO’s CDS/ISIS for enabling a library to do acquisition,
circulation, etc. DESIDOC has successfully modified the programmer and a
new package based on CDS/ISIS was released in 1992 by the name of
SANJAY. So, Sanjay is an augmented version of CDS/ISIS with modules
prepared for the various housekeeping operations. The software is totally
menu driven and works in windows environment with LAN support. In India
