Genetics Choice Board
Choose and complete one activity from each column. You will be completing three activities total. You can work
individually or with a partner. Each option is worth 10 points and will be presented to the class.
Option 1
Create a song/rap/poem about
genetics. You can create a
song/rap/poem on genetics
vocabulary, traits, alleles, or
anything we have learned about
genetics. Provide information to the
listener. Be creative. You must
record yourself singing the song as a
video and present the video to the
class. The video must be at least two
minutes long.
Option 4
Create a an online news article
about genetics. Come up with a
headline that will attract readers.
Describe two interesting facts about
genetics and explain how they
happen to inform the reader.
Pretend that this is a new discovery.
Option 2
Pick a physical trait that you
inherited from your mother. Create
a slide on Google Slides explaining
your physical trait and how it was
inherited from your parents.
Describe if your trait is dominant or
recessive. Include a Punnett square
showing both parents traits and
how you got yours, pictures, and/or
videos into your slide depicting the
alleles of your trait. Describe your
parents traits and how they are
different or similar to yours.
Option 5
Pick a physical trait that you
inherited from your father. Create a
poster either on poster paper or
digitally describing your trait, how it
was inherited, if it is recessive or a
dominant trait, and include a
Punnett square showing both
parents traits and how you got
yours. Describe your parents traits
and how they are different or
similar to yours.
Option 3
Create an online survey for the class
to take. The survey will ask the class
if they have a certain trait and if they
are dominant or recessive. Once you
have surveyed the class you will list
the statistical data and create a graph
online on Google Slides of the class
results.
Explain the results to the class with
numerical data.
Option 6
Create a social media page for
genetics. Describe what genetics is in
the about me section, it should be
interesting and something genetics
would be proud of. Be creative with
how genetics will describe itself on
social media in an interesting way.
Post pictures that genetics would
post and want to brag about. The
social media page must be created
online and presented to the class.
