Objectives:

1. To raise awareness on the proper segregation and to solve the negative effects of open burning on the given community through project

implementation.

2. To turn waste materials like plastic bottles into new and innovative products such as cleaning materials (recycled bottle brooms) and flower

pots.

3. To help the residents who are unemployed or underemployed to have a chance at employment.

Waste Collection For Environmental Conservation

Being recognized as the “Cleanest Barangay in Lipa City” is a challenge for the community to maintain their title. The edge of the community

against the other competitors is having their own compost pits for their biodegradable waste and selling some of their non-biodegradable and

recyclables materials in the junk shop. On the other hand, because of having not enough knowledge about their ways such as open burning, this

practice led them to be one of the major contributor in Global Warming. Therefore, “Waste Collection For Environmental Conservation” is a project

equipping them with enough knowledge and engaging the whole community in addressing unemployment and their wrong practices.
This project “Waste Collection For Environmental Conservation” includes a seminar that will open the minds of every residents about open

burning and its effects to the entire community. In addition, the students will also have an activity wherein they will teach the residents in making an

innovative and useful product to control the community’s recyclable materials and to unleash the creativity they have. Lastly, this project will provide a

cart that will be used for the garbage collection every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to help them in managing their remaining trashes and to help

them to have a part-time job for their family’s needs.
