Assignment 2

Question 1

The e-commerce platform will receive the notification of a purchase when a customer has submitted an
order. This will trigger the purchase and delivery process, where the warehouse or nearest supplier will
receive the order from the e-commerce platform, then pack and submit the product to delivery. The
payment will be processed through the Zalora e-commerce platform, this means that if it is a credit card
transaction, the funds will be available for Zalora before the supplier receives the payment. In the
countries where cash on delivery is accepted, the payment will first be received when the customer has
received the product. Depending on the location where the order is performed, the delivery time will
vary. Figure 2 illustrates the delivery lead time from Singapore. In order to reduce cost and present a
more sustainable business model, Zalora has introduced delivery via 7/11 stores or the Singapore Post,
which are postal lockers where customers can pick up their parcel as soon as they have been dropped
off. These strategies reduce on transport, for example if some products must be delivered via for
example DHL or FedEx, the delivery company will deliver to the customer’s door; but if the customer
is not available the procedures for these companies is to proceed with a second try of delivery. This
means that the usage of the delivery car will be costly in form of fuel usage, car usage and driver cost.
Discuss in a group for the BPMN 2.0 then present in front during the last tutorial class (29/12/2019)

Question 2

Use the Signavio process modelling software to do the assignment below.

The routine for logging into an Internet bank account starts once the credentials entered from the user
have been retrieved. First, the username is validated. If the username is not valid, the routine is
interrupted and the invalid username is logged. If the username is valid, the number of password trials
is set to zero. Then the password is validated. If this is not valid, the counter for the number of trials is
incremented and if lower than three, the user is asked to enter the password again, this time together
with a CAPTCHA test to increase the security level. If the number of failed attempts reaches three
times, the routine is interrupted and the account is frozen. Moreover, the username and password
validation may be interrupted should the validation server not be available. Similarly, the server to test
the CAPTCHA may not be available at the time of log in. In these cases, the procedure is interrupted
after notifying the user to try again later. At any time during the log in routine, the customer may close
the web-page, resulting in the interruption of the routine.
