Does suffering make us stronger and lead to success?

Most people want to be a success. Experience of success is important in life

because it affects the next experience in the future. Also, it gives people confidence

which leads to the next success. There are various kinds of success which can be

material or spiritual. Regardless of the kind of success, it is essential for people who

want to live a happy life. Most people who are happy have experience of success

in their life. But not everyone can achieve success. Because many people want it.

So, people who want success need a special thing that helps them surpass other

people. And it usually requires the experience of suffering in order to get it. In the

course of success, it inevitably involves 3 kinds of suffering. The person who is

willing to go through it gets stronger and in order to maintain a state of success,

he needs the experience of suffering. Usually, the level of success is proportionate

to the amount of suffering. Of course, there is a success without suffering. But it is

doubtful that it is a truly valuable success in terms of one's happiness.

The first thing that success requires is change. Success is often compared
to climbing the mountain. In order to reach the top, one has to keep climbing until

the end. Like climbing the mountain, success requires constant effort to achieve it.

People usually set their goals in order to make their life better than status quo. So,

the process of success involves the experience of changing the present situation.

In other words, success makes people create a new habit. For example, a person

who gets up at 7 o'clock in the morning can change his wake-up time to 5 o'clock

in order to manage a busy schedule efficiently. It is hard to adapt to new habits in

one day because it takes a much longer time than he expects. It is said that a

person can adapt to a new habit when he repeats the same behavior for 100 days.

In order to maintain the new habit, one go through tremendous suffering. And it

is a necessary process for success. Also, once he can adapt to it, the success that

he made requires maintaining the habit. Because his present situation changed, he

could succeed. Therefore, success inevitably requires changing the way of life.

Success inevitably brings competition. In order to get a competitive edge,

people use various kind of strategy. The higher the goal is, the more complex the

strategy is. In the process of a hard race, such an oppressive situation evokes
suffering. Moreover, negative emotion like a sense of inferiority makes some people

bad. They deliberately spoil other people's achievement or interrupt people. And

most people are tired of enduring this burden of emotional strain. So some of them

give up the competition. One may have the experience that friend turns into foe

in competition. This kind of situation makes him depressed and hopeless. The

person who gets success is the one who willing to accept this adversity. Through

it, he can grow stronger and have an influence on other people. This person's

success tends to be easily recognized in his group members who are also in

competition. Because they directly saw how he deals with his problems. Therefore,

success gives one power and influence through competition.

Finally, the process of success involves self-observation. Most people have

a shortcoming. Because human is not perfect. And they are afraid of facing the

truth about themselves. They just ignore it because it is so hard to admit their

weakness for themselves. They often justify themselves. Nevertheless, they want to

be better than in the past and be successful in their life at the same time. Therefore,

they should choose between staying still and doing something in order to improve
themselves. When they determine to improve, they have to start observing

themselves objectively. And it entails suffering. In doing so, one can find the start

point to change. For example, He determines to find obstacles to success through

self-observation. So he comes to know what is the problem. And he can start to

change his behavior. Through the process, one can be stronger and get closer to

success.

In conclusion, success needs change, competition, and self-observation. In

other words, in order to be successful, people have to experience suffering. It makes

people be suitable for a state of success. They start to change their habits or

compete with someone and get confidence. This process leads them to a better

state than in the past. And it eventually brings success. When one chooses to go

through suffering, he is ready to be a success. And he can be stronger through it.

And the process of success also leads him to a better life. Because he faces his

weakness and tries to overcome it. This is the reason why many people who

experience success live a happy life. So success and suffering have an inseparable

relationship. One inevitably entails another. When people take this relationship, they
can accept their suffering more easily.
