What is literature

1.-For me, literature refers to works of the creative imagination,

including their types of listening , reading,writing and speaking
different idioms

2.-The study of literature is important because, improves reading

skills reading high quality literature helps us to discern the good
writing of bad writing

3.- study literature because Literature allows us to interpret your

own life and emotions and find ways to relate to the story so we in
turn can reflect.

Literary elements

The point of view of a story is the perspective from which it is

narrated

Setting: Time and place in which the action of a narration takes place

(plot): Los sucesos que ocurren en un cuento, drama o novela.

Theme: The theme can be explained in a sentence. The theme should be a

generalization about life.

Conflict: The central element of a story, a drama or a novel

tones: we refer to the narrator's attitude to what he or she narrates.

Generos y subgeneros

Poetry: uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language

Fiction: literary work based on imagination rather than on fact

Prose: the ordinary form of spoken or written language, without

metrical structure, as distinguished from poetry or verse.

Drama: the art dealing with the writing and production of plays.

Non-fiction: prose writing that is based on facts, real events, and

real people, such as biography or history.
