ROLEPLAY 1

A: Hello, Jane. How are things going?

B: Still good, thank you. How about you?

A: Everything's OK. As you probably know, our marketing department need to

discuss and decide the brand values for our national rail service and present to

the Marketing Director.

B: I know. What is your opinion Kate?

A: In my opinion, the best options are “comfort”. Making sure that customers feel

comfortable when they use our services. Then we have “quality”.We always improve the

quality of service to provide the best thing for our customers. Another key value is

“reliability”. We have to create trust in our customers so that they will always believe in

our service . What do you think about that?

B: That’s a good idea. But personally,I think the first brand values is “good value

for money”. That’s some thing we continually communicate in our marketing. The

second is “environmental aware”, which will become increasingly important in the

future. Finally we have “customer focus”. For us, the customer is always right and

we want to constantly remind both ourselves and our customers of that fact.

A: I know what you mean but we need to choose only 3 of the 6 brand values

mentioned. So, I strongly believe that the most effective values for our company are

“comfort” and “quality”. As you know, ensuring customers feel comfortable is always
the most important task and good quality will make the brand value and help customers

remember us more. Do you agree?

B: I agree with you that. It would be great to choosing the last brand is “great

value for money” . Each product or service that we provide should be suitable

for the majority of customers but it also have a high quality.

A: Sure, that’s true. So 3brand values we choose are “comfort” , “quality”. and

“great value for money”, is that right?

B: Yes, that’s right. It’s the best option.

A: Alright, tomorrow I’ll present our ideas to the Marketing Manager. I think

that’s everything.

B: See you later, good bye!
