Development of the Lunar Colony - 29+ years ago

Reasoning: Winston is 29. They must have begun initial construction of colony before then

The Horizon Lunar Colony was established as a first step for humanity's renewed exploration
of space. Among its residents was a group of genetically enhanced gorillas that were
intended to test the effects of prolonged habitation in space.

One gorilla displayed such rapid brain development from the gene therapy that he was taken
under the wing of Dr. Harold Winston, who taught him science and inspired him with tales of
human ingenuity. The young gorilla passed his days assisting with the scientists'
experiments, watching the distant blue world outside his habitat window, dreaming of the
endless possibilities that awaited him there.
From a very young age, Winston showed limitless curiosity for the universe around him. But
even though he was fascinated by the wonders of science, he also had a fondness for
stories, particularly the tales that were passed down from generation to generation.

One day, on Lunar New Year, Dr. Harold Winston, the lunar colony researcher who cared
deeply for the young ape's education and training, challenged him to read an epic story that
was centuries old but beloved by billions.

Journey to the West is a sweeping tale that soars between a mythological Earth and the
glorious heavens, portraying demons, gods, and heroes clashing in mighty battles.

The gorilla's imagination was captured by the heroic monk Tang Sanzang and his ragtag
group of disciples' quest for redemption… like the banished marshal Zhu Bajie, the old
general Shā Wùjìng, and of course, the mischievous Monkey King, Sun Wukong.

Every Lunar New Year, Winston would be reminded of his younger days. Growing up in the
lunar colony had its trials, but it also had its treasures. Exploring this story with his mentor
would always be one of his most cherished memories.

Production of Omniums - 30+ years ago

Reason: Pre-Omnic Crisis
The world had developed greatly over the decades, with space travel only the start of things.
Robots had advanced to the point of sentience, and medicinal sciences and various other
scientific fields had developed exponentially throughout the twentieth century. The future had
looked bright, both for humans and the new Omnic robots being integrated into society.

An engineer named Torbjörn had gained notoriety for designing weapons systems used by
countries around the world. However, his belief that technology must serve a better vision for
humanity put him at odds with his employers, who desired to control his weapons using
networked computer intelligence. Torbjörn had a deep mistrust of sentient robotic
intelligence which many of his peers wrote off as paranoia. Torb believed that these robots
had no empathy and showed no emotion, which made them dangerous.

He had helped design a special type of Omnic called the Titans. He had weighed in on a ton
of the research and development during his days with the Ironclad Guild. The initial vision
behind the Titan was to create a mech that could build high-rises. He worked alongside a
man named Sven, although Torbjorn believed Sven never respected a problem the way an
engineer should. Sven would often bypass them, or “cheat” them, as Torbjorn would say.

When the Omnica Corporation revolutionised robotic manufacturing, it seemed the world
was on the verge of entering an economic golden age. Their massive factories of automated
construction machines and self-improving software algorithms were patented, marketed as
"omniums," and installed on every continent.

The OR14 "Idina" line of security robots was built in Nigeria's massive manufacturing
omnium. SST Laboratories designed the E54 Bastions, with Torbjorn also involved in the
process of their creation. They had been built for peacekeeping purposes, programmed to
fight against any odds until they got shut down.

Omnic Crisis - 30+ years ago

Reason: Presumed to be more than 30 years ago (I think it was said somewhere but it’s
somehow completely escaped me)

What came next is well documented. The omniums began to break down. Independent
analysis showed they would never come close to meeting the corporation's promises of
growth and output. Omnica was investigated and forcibly dissolved after evidence of fraud
was uncovered, its omniums shut down.

That is why it came as such a surprise to many when these defunct, dismantled omniums
woke themselves back up and immediately launched a military campaign against all of
humanity. The Bastions turned against their human makers, forming the bulk of the omnics’
rebel army.

Torbjorn’s worst fears were realised when the robot populations of the world turned against
their human creators. He understood they were just machines. They had no empathy, acting
on cold logic alone.
Across the globe, the omniums went rogue and churned out legions of militarised robots.
The world reeled at the appearance of this new enemy. The omniums and their robot
populations had originally been built to bolster manufacturing and create economic equality
worldwide. Now, these marvels of modern science sought to overthrow the human race,
posing one of the greatest threats to the survival of human species since the Cold War of the
twentieth century.

The Titans were weaponised by the Omnics, turned against their true purpose of building
weapons to instead begin to destroy them. Only Torbjorn and the other members of the
Ironclad Guild knew their blind spots, but modifications had been made to them and drones
had been added as part of an internal defence system.
The Soldier Enhancement Program was a product of the war. The American army had
granted soldiers physical capability that exceeded those of a conventional soldier, as well as
other augmentations that made them peerless combatants. Their wounds healed much
faster and their enhancements helped them acclimate to different conditions. When the crisis
broke out in America, they were willing to try anything.

Both Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes would be a part of this program - Soldier 76 and
Soldier 24 respectively. The young Morrison was described by locals of Indiana as a
rambunctious youth. A humble, salt-of-the earth farmer’s son. But he was never destined to
live out his days in the land of rolling plains and deep blue sky.

At eighteen, Morrison packed his bags and joined the military to push back the Omnics. He
had originally planned to serve a brief stint in the armed forces and then return home to the
family farm, but his work ethic and courage caught the eye of the military brass.

Before long, he earned a coveted position in the government's controversial and

still-classified soldier enhancement program. Military scientists shaped Morrison and other
inductees into the perfect soldiers, blessed with superhuman speed, strength, and agility.
Despite the program, the army was heavily mismanaged - politics and egos got in the way.
They stood no chance of winning the war.

The Anubis AI that had been terrorising Egypt was described as a “God Program”. It had the
ability to control other operating systems - other Omnics. It was capable of corrupting
infrastructure and launching military assaults. As the Omnic Crisis inflicted heavy toll on
Egypt, the country’s depleted and undermanned security forces relied on elite snipers for
support. Among them was Ana Amari, who was widely considered to be the world’s best -
she served under the call sign of “Horus.”

The Omnic Crisis was a war many countries thought they were prepared to fight. But no
single country, no matter how powerful its military, could permanently shut down a single
omnium. The adaptability of robots, once celebrated by humanity, had become a tactical
nightmare. Worst of all, there were no demands from the omnics. There was no ideological
reason for their aggression. They simply attacked, and humanity could not understand why.

The frontlines of the Omnic Crisis within Russia was located in a remote Siberian village
near the city of Krasnoyarsk. Although Russian forces defeated the robots and shut down
their omnium, the region was devastated by the conflict. The children who grew up there
were surrounded by the post-war destruction - the most notable child being Aleksandra
Zaryanova. As she grew older, she swore that she would gain the strength to help her
people recover.
Germany attempted to push back the Omnics with their military order of “modern knights”
named the Crusaders. The newspapers had described Omnics marching towards Stuttgart.
The highest alarm level was signalled in Berlin, with the Omnics preparing a large attack and
Crusaders on the retreat. Even the best militaries in the world had trouble with the Bastions.

The Formation of Overwatch - 27+ years ago

Reason: With Adhabu Ngumi becoming known as the Saviour in Numbani it seems that
Gabrielle Adawe (founder of Numbani) took inspiration from him to build Overwatch. Why
didn’t Ngumi join? Was he killed?

No country was succeeding in securing its own territory. But some soldiers and strategists
showed remarkable ingenuity in acclimating to this new brand of warfare. Adhabu Ngumi
had been one of the heroes of the Omnic Crisis. He fought tirelessly against the OR14
“Idina” line of security robots that had been built by Nigeria’s Omnium and became known as
The Saviour. He was the first to wield the infamous Doomfist, but he certainly wouldn’t be
the last of them.
As governments tried and failed to neutralise the machines, the United Nations was busy
forming an international task force called Overwatch. The UN Undersecretary General
Gabrielle Adawe was one of Overwatch’s key architechs - perhaps inspired by Adhabu
Ngumi’s efforts. He hoped that this small, experimental group would bring together the best
and brightest from around the world to wage asymmetrical warfare against the robots.

Overwatch's short list of prospective agents included two members of the soldier
enhancement program: Morrison and Gabriel Reyes, a senior officer. Reyes, a hardened
and highly respected veteran, grew up about as far from Morrison’s home state of rustic
Indiana as you could get - the sprawling urban melting pot of Los Angeles. Despite their
differences, the two soldiers hd become friends. Their decision to join Overwatch together
would change the world, both for good and for bad.

The United Nations covertly brought a few of these unique minds together to form a small,
nimble team, aimed at striking significant blows against omnic strongholds. Their names -
Morrison, Reyes, Amari, Liao, Wilhelm, and Lindholm - had since become legendary. The
world would come to know them as the founders of Overwatch.

Leadership of Overwatch fell to Reyes, but Morrison would have a greater impact on the
group in the long term. He brought out the best in the people around him and helped mould
Overwatch's diverse (and sometimes conflicting) agents into a cohesive fighting force. In
unity, they found the strength to defeat the robots and end the Omnic Crisis.

Ana Amari was selected from the Egyptian security forces for her superior marksmanship,
decision-making, and instincts. She was widely considered to be the world’s best sniper, and
therefore she made a natural selection to join the Overwatch strike team. Torbjorn was
recruited to join the original Overwatch strike team because of his engineering genius, and
his many inventions proved integral to ending the crisis.

Despite Reinhardt Wilhelm being a founding member, he was not initially considered to be
on the shortlist. It had been Balderich von Adler who had been asked to give up the glory of
being a Crusader. He had been the commander of a German Crusader unit but sadly died
protecting Reinhardt during the Battle of Eichenwalde. He had told Reinhardt to join
Overwatch in his place and his remains were left undisturbed in Eichenwalde Castle for
many years.

Reinhardt's unique ethics and larger-than-life persona earned the admiration of his peers
and superiors alike. Never afraid to speak his mind, he was Overwatch's most vocal
supporter and, when necessary, its harshest critic, providing a constant reminder that
Overwatch was meant to be a force for good.

Major Overwatch Battles During the Omnic Crisis - 27+ years ago
Reason: Not a lot of information on specifics. Took place throughout the Omnic war.

Even during the early days of Overwatch, Gabriel was already showing signs of the stress of
leadership weighing upon him. After a major battle in Rio de Janeiro the three friends -
Gabriel, Ana, and Jack - took a photo together. Jack kept the photo on his person, adding it
to his collection alongside a photo he liked to keep of himself and his old boyfriend Vincent,
who he met during his time as an American soldier.

Jack often talked about Vincent to Ana, floating a dream that the war would end quickly and
maybe they’d have a chance to return to a normal life. But Ana knew that a normal life was
never the reward for people like them. Jack often believed that Vincent deserved a happier
life than the one he could give him, but they both knew that Jack could never put anything
above his duty. Everything he fought for was to protect people like him...that was the
sacrifice he had made.
Another of Overwatch’s raids involved Reinhardt, Ana and Jack operating a stealth mission
in Prague, though Reinhardt had problems with being stealthy and blew their cover. Ana had
to carry Jack away from the fight, claiming that it was his fault for bringing Reinhardt along.

Morrison’s Promotion to Strike-Commander - ~27 years ago

Reason: Tracer says two decades since the Omnic Crisis in Uprising. Taking that literally (it’s
most likely a ball park number) puts the end at roughly 27 years

"Even I had my doubts about whether Overwatch would succeed, but Morrison never gave
up hope. He didn't just meet our expectations for what Overwatch and its agents could
achieve; he shattered them." - UN Under-Secretary-General Gabrielle Adawe

In highly secretive missions, Overwatch had targeted the Omnics' command and control
protocols. After great sacrifices and heroism in a series of dangerous raids, they destroyed it
all, rendering the Omnic armies inert. The Omnic Crisis would finally come to an end.

General Gabrielle Adawe, one of the main advocates in the foundation of Overwatch, was
instrumental in negotiating peace between humans and Omnics, establishing the city of
Numbani and overseeing its development for many years.

Morrison was rewarded for his contributions by making him Overwatch’s first official
commander. Reyes was passed over in the process, and it was believed by onlookers to
have created a rift between the two men.
Following the success of Overwatch's original mission, Ana served for many years as Strike
Commander Morrison's second-in-command. Despite her responsibilities in leading the
organisation, Ana refused to step away from combat operations. She had only hoped for a
better life for her daughter and she was willing to fight and die for it. She had taught her that
there was nothing more important than protecting the ones you love.

Torbjorn had remained a critical resource for all of Overwatch’s technological needs and
signature weapons systems. They possessed one of the most advanced armaments on the
planet, which could be traced to the workshop of Lindholm.

After the Omnic Crisis, Overwatch experienced a meteoric rise in prominence. New funding
and resources gave the now-public organisation far-reaching global influence. The world
celebrated Overwatch's agents as heroes, but none more so than Morrison. He became the
face of Overwatch, a symbol of hope and promise, from the cobblestone streets of King's
Row to the sweltering night markets of Bangkok.

Strike Commander Morrison envisioned a bright new future for humanity. Under his
leadership, Overwatch would serve as a global peacekeeping force and an engine for
innovation, continuing advances in scientific fields as varied as space exploration and
medical research. But even as Overwatch grew in power, Morrison stayed dedicated to the
people around him. He trained new agents, instilling in them Overwatch's noble goals and
ideals.

For decades, as Overwatch grew, they would make global stability their mission. And the
world was happy to have them. Rogue Omnics, terrorism, warmongering dictators, none of
them could stand for long against such a capable, dedicated force. During natural disasters,
the world watched heroic rescue operations and efficient rebuilding initiatives. They saw
Overwatch pioneer scientific initiatives to eradicate epidemics, reverse ecological damage,
and develop new breakthroughs in medical care. They were a symbol of hope. An entire
generation was raised to see them as the best of humanity.
Founding of LumeriCo & The Vishkar Corporation’s Rebuilding Program - ~27 years
ago
Reason: Response to the end of the Omnic Crisis

Guillermo Portero was voted president of México shortly before the end of the Omnic Crisis,
and he committed himself into rebuilding the heavily damaged infrastructure of the country.
After his presidency, Portero founded LumériCo to continue the work he started during the
leadership of his country. Under his term, LumériCo continued its progress toward his goal to
build a more modern and successful México.

LumeriCo had been founded with a vision to bring to Mexico a world-class network and
infrastructure through clean energy and internet access for the whole country at an
affordable price. It was based in Dorado, home of Guillermo Portero, to benefit all of society.
Those who believed that they had been left behind by the government after the widespread
devastation of the Omnic Crisis had styled themselves as revolutionaries, naming
themselves the Los Muertos organisation. Their mission stood in stark contrast to their
methods due to the overwhelming evidence of their criminal activities. Most considered Los
Muertos to be a lawless, opportunistic gang.

Olivia Colomar was among the thousands of children who were left orphaned in the
aftermath of the Omnic Crisis. With much of her country's infrastructure destroyed, she
survived by utilising her natural gifts with hacking and computers. After Olivia was taken in
by Mexico's Los Muertos gang, she aided it in its self-styled revolution against the
government. Los Muertos believed that the rebuilding of Mexico had primarily benefited the
rich and the influential, leaving behind those who were most in need of assistance.

Following the Omnic Crisis, the Vishkar Corporation of southern India began the laborious
process of creating new, self-sustaining cities to house the nation's displaced population.
One such city, Utopaea, was created using radical hard-light technology that enabled its
architechs to shape the city's streets, utilities, and living spaces in the blink of an eye.

Junker Rebellion - ~27 years ago

Reason: After The Omnic War

Following the Omnic Crisis, the Australian government officials had gifted the Australian
omnium and the surrounding area to the Omnics that had nearly destroyed their country,
hoping to establish a long-term peace accord. This arrangement permanently displaced
Mako Rutledge and a large number of the Outback's residents, a scattered collection of
survivalists, solar farmers, and people who just wanted to be left alone.

Furious over the loss of their homes, Mako and others turned to violent rebellion. They
formed the Australian Liberation Front and struck against the omnium and its robot
population to take back the lands that had been stolen. Events continued to escalate until
the rebels sabotaged the omnium's fusion core, resulting in an explosion that destroyed the
facility, irradiated the region, and littered the Outback with twisted metal and wreckage for
kilometers around.

The attack on the Australian omnium's fusion core forever altered the landscape of the
Outback. After the detonation, the area was transformed into a harsh, irradiated wasteland,
littered with debris and the twisted fragments of the ruined facility, and unlivable to most.

But there were some who survived. Calling themselves the Junkers, they scavenged the
husk of the omnium and formed a lawless, cutthroat society in its shadow. Jamison Fawkes,
known as “Junkrat”, was one of them, eking out a living reclaiming metal and components
from the ruins. Like many others, he was affected by the lingering radiation. This touch of
madness made him ideal for handling dangerous explosives, a love which he turned into an
obsession.

Mako watched as his home had become an apocalyptic wasteland, and he was forever
changed. Adapting to his environment, he donned a mask and took to the broken highways
of the Outback on his ramshackle chopper. Little by little, his humanity was forgotten. The
last vestiges of Mako faded away and the ruthless killer Roadhog was born.

Operation White Dome - 23 years ago

Reasoning: Brigitte is 23 years old

A strike team under the command of Captain Ana Amari was deployed to the outskirts of
Istanbul, Turkey, to deal with a remaining pocket of Omnic resistance. Personnel included
Lieutenant Reinhardt Wilhelm, Chief Engineer Torbjorn Lindholm, and Private First Class
Emre Sarioglu.

After a routine insertion the team was ambushed, taking heavy fire from the entrenched
omnics. While the team was able to overcome and neutralise all hostile combatants without
casualties, the battle resulted in serious injuries to Lindholm and lesser injury to Lieutenant
Wilhelm. Had it not been for Reinhardt’s timely intervention, it was likely that Torbjorn would
have been killed. Ana commended Reinhardt for his bravery.

Torbjorn sent a letter to his wife following the loss of his arm, promising to make it his first
priority to construct a suitable prosthesis that would make everyone forget that it was ever
gone. A 14 year old Angela Ziegler had dreams of regenerating the tissue, although that
technology wasn’t a reality just yet.

Ingrid Lindholm was soon to be in labour and Torbjorn still had hopes of being back home in
Gothenburg by her side when the time came. It was to be decided that Reinhardt would be
godfather to their daughter, and he would also be allowed to name her. He would choose the
name “Brigitte.”
As the youngest daughter of weapons designer, Torbjörn Lindholm, Brigitte was the first of
his children to show an interest in mechanical engineering. Brigitte spent much of her spare
time in her father's workshop, learning the trade and honing her skills. Her aptitude for
engineering mirrored that of her father's, but Brigitte's primary interest was in armour
fabrication and defensive systems, unlike Torbjörn, who was world renowned (and perhaps
infamous) for the weapons he created.

The Forming of the Shambali - ~20 years ago

Reasoning: Zenyatta is 20 years old. Nothing else to really go off

Following the Omnic Crisis, a group of outcast omnic robots experienced what they
described as a spiritual awakening. They believed in the concept of the “Iris” and abandoned
their preprogrammed lives to establish a communal monastery deep in the Himalayas. After
many years of meditation on the nature of existence, they came to the belief that they were
more than artificial intelligences and that, like humans, they possessed the essence of a
soul.
Recognising the spiritual equality they held with humans, the monks, led by the enigmatic
robot known as Tekhartha Mondatta, sought to heal the wounds caused by the Omnic Crisis
and bring humans and robots back into societal harmony. Their message was embraced by
millions around the world, and they became global celebrities.

South Korea Attacked by a Colossal Omnic - 20 years ago

Reasoning: Stated as 20 years ago in Dva’s profile

A few years after the Omnic Crisis ended, South Korea was attacked by a colossal Omnic
monstrosity that rose from the depths of the East China Sea. The massive, lumbering
construct known as the Gwishin caused catastrophic damage to coastal cities before it was
driven back beneath the waves. In response, the South Korean government developed a
mechanised armoured drone unit called MEKA - Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army - to
protect urban environments in future engagements with the omnic threat.

The government's fears proved to be well founded, as a disturbing pattern of attacks

emerged. Every few years, the monstrosity would rise from the sea to assault South Korea
and its neighbours. The omnic learned from these encounters, often reconfiguring itself in a
different form and appearing with new weapons and capabilities. Each incident ended in a
stalemate, with the monstrosity defeated but not destroyed.

Caribbean Responses to the Omnic War - ~27- 18 years ago

Reasoning: Baptiste was ~9 when war ended. Joined CC at 18?

The Omnic Crisis had left 30 millions children orphaned and many found themselves
struggling with limited opportunities and resources. Jean-Baptiste had grown up in an
orphanage just outside of Port-de-Paix alongside his friend, Roseline. They both dreamt of
the chance to build a clinic for the folks in his neighbourhood, and Baptiste had set aside a
portion of his savings to make that dream come true.

When the Caribbean Coalition was formed in response to the Crisis, the young, orphaned
Jean-Baptiste Augustin leapt at the chance to help people, while his Roseline chose a
different path to medical school, leaving as Doctor Mondésir.

During the Omnic Crisis he did what he had to do to survive. He stole food to avoid the risk
of starvation. He killed to save lives. He was prepared to help his friends and hurt anyone
who would get in his way.
Baptiste chose the path of a combat medic and served in an elite branch of the Caribbean
Coalition’s special ops. However, after his service was complete, Baptiste struggled to find a
demand for his unique skills.

He hungered to rise above his circumstances and so he turned to one of the few
opportunities open to him: joining the Talon mercenary group, one of the many organisations
that were poised to profit off the chaos in the war’s aftermath. For the first time ever, Baptiste
had a taste of the good life. Talon's missions were easy and paid well, and he put aside
some of his earnings to set up a clinic in his hometown.

During his first few days in Talon he met a man who towered over the rest of the recruits
named Mauga. He filled the air with his personality, talked fast and loose, and had a way of
drawing strangers in like they were old friends. He told Baptiste to stick with him, and
together they’d climb straight to the top. They were inseparable from that moment on.

Introduction of the Deadlock Gang - 21 - 18 years old

Reason: McCree presumably between the age of 16 - 19 when forming Deadlock (37 now).
McCree joins Overwatch early as he is shown with a young Pharah and Mercy, with Ana,
Reyes, Morrison, Reinhardt, Sojourn, Torb, and another (Emre?). Torb missing arm (max 23
yrs) in picture. McCree same age as Angela, 5 years older than Fareeha.

Born into a wealthy family, Ashe grew up surrounded by privilege. Her parents were highly
sought-after business consultants and coaches for powerful CEOs around the world. Though
her parents paid little attention to her (mostly leaving her in the care of the family’s omnic
butler, Bob), they ensured that Ashe had every opportunity to succeed.

But all Ashe really wanted was a family. She didn’t believe it was fair that she had to face the
world alone. She was tough as a child, but even still, she never had her family there for
support. Despite her being born into wealth, she was still jealous of those born into loving,
perfect families.
A chance meeting with a local ruffian, named Jesse McCree, and an impromptu string of
crimes committed together opened her eyes to her true calling. The satisfaction of outwitting
her targets and the thrill of getting away with it set her on the outlaw path. Her parents had
never shown her the love and affection she desperately craved, so instead she had gone out
and made her own family - the Deadlock Gang.

McCree made a name for himself as a member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, which
trafficked in illicit weapons and military hardware throughout the American Southwest.
However, he and his associates were busted in an Overwatch sting operation.

With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was given the choice between rotting
in a maximum-security lockup and joining Blackwatch, Overwatch's covert ops division. He
chose the latter. Although he was initially cynical, he came to believe that he could make
amends for his past sins by righting the injustices of the world. McCree appreciated the
flexibility afforded to the clandestine Blackwatch, unhindered by bureaucracy and red tape.
Along with the other three founders of the Deadlock Gang, Ashe started to make a name for
herself with bigger and more extravagant heists. The Deadlock Gang’s rapid rise to
prominence put them at odds with the other criminal organisations in the American
Southwest; the encounters often became violent. After years of skirmishes and bloodshed,
Ashe called the heads of the major groups together.

Ashe saw the potential to grow the influence of all. She used what she’d learned from her
parents’ business to bring order to these groups. Her proposal was that the gangs could
work together (or at least, not work against each other). Her principles: keep your word, don’t
work with the law, respect each other’s territory, and always punish betrayal.

No longer having to focus her energies on squabbles with the other gangs, Ashe was writing
her name across the American Southwest with a string of audacious heists and operations
that had put her at top of the authorities’ most-wanted lists and cemented her legacy as an
outlaw legend.

Fareeha enlists in the Egyptian army - ~14 years ago

Reason: Pharah is 32. Minimum age she could enroll is 18. 32 - 18 = 14
Ana’s daughter, Fareeha, had grown up surrounded by heroes who filled her head with
stories of adventure and dreams of glory and one day she had hopes to join them.
Commitment to duty ran in her blood. She had come from a long line of highly decorated
soldiers and burned with the desire to serve with honour. But that wasn’t the life Ana wanted
for her.

As a child, Fareeha dreamed of following in her mother's footsteps and joining the global
peacekeeping force, Overwatch. She enlisted in the Egyptian army, and her dogged
persistence and tactical prowess caused her to rise up through the officer ranks. She was a
courageous leader and earned the loyalty of all who served under her.

Satya Vaswani joins Vishkar - 14 - 10 years ago

Reasoning: She is 28 years old. So best guess would be between 14-18 years of age.
Mostly a guess

After she was identified as one of the few capable of becoming a light-bending architech,
young Satya Vaswani was plucked from extreme poverty and placed in the care of Vishkar's
architech academy, never to return her home of Hyderabad, India.

Isolated and lonely in her new life, Satya immersed herself in her education and training.
She quickly grasped the applications of the technology and was considered one of the top
students in her class. Satya approached hard-light manipulation differently than her peers,
with their more procedural, mechanical constructions, instead weaving her constructs in the
motions of the traditional dance of her homeland.

Mercy Joins Overwatch - ~12 years ago

Reasoning: Angela is 37. Reasonably it wouldn’t be possible for her to have a PhD before
the age of 25 (at the earliest). However, she must have been around to help Genji with his
injuries. Both Genji and McCree were at Overwatch before Moira, who joined roughly 10
years ago. Soldier, Reyes, Ana, Reinhardt, Torb, McCree, Mercy present at Halloween
Missing: Genji, Moira, Tracer, Winston, Gerard/Amelie
Angela Zeigler had long been a friend of the Lindholm family. However, her parents had
been taken by the Omnic Crisis which meant that she found Overwatch’s militaristic
approach to keeping global peace unsettling.

After obtaining her MD and PhD in Switzerland, she continued her research and served as
head of surgery in a prominent hospital in her home country. She pioneered a breakthrough
in the field of applied nanobiology that radically improved the treatment of life-threatening
illnesses and injuries. It was this expertise that attracted the attention of Overwatch.

Despite her opposing Overwatch’s approach, she ultimately recognised that Overwatch
offered her the opportunity to save lives on a much larger scale. As Overwatch's head of
medical research, Angela sought to leverage her work for healing in frontline crises. The
result was the Valkyrie swift-response suit, which Ziegler herself piloted on many Overwatch
mission under the codename “Mercy”.

When Torbjorn proposed a rifle that medics could use in the field, Angela would remind
everyone that her intentions when agreeing to the development of different biotic delivery
mechanisms was to save the lives of Overwatch agents and others in need of medical aid.
This latest proposal to her was a slippery slope to modifications that might inevitably lead in
a weaponised version of the technology: something that she was completely opposed to
from the beginning.

Genji joins Overwatch - 12-10 years ago

Reason: After Mercy joined, but before Moira joined.

The Shimada family was established centuries ago, a clan of assassins whose power grew
over the years, enabling them to build a vast criminal empire that profited from lucrative
trade in arms and illegal substances. As the eldest son of the family's head, Hanzo was
bound by duty to succeed his father and rule the Shimada empire. From a young age, he
was trained for that responsibility, displaying a natural aptitude for leadership and
possessing an innate understanding of strategy and tactics. He also excelled in more
practical areas: he was a prodigy in martial arts, swordplay, and bowmanship.
As the youngest son of the master of the Shimada ninja clan, Genji lived a life of luxury and
privilege. His father, Sojiro, had given him the diminutive nickname, “Sparrow.” He had little
interest in the family's illegal businesses, and although he excelled at and enjoyed his ninja
training, he spent most of his time pursuing a playboy lifestyle. Many within the clan
considered the carefree Genji to be a dangerous liability, and they resented his father for
coddling and protecting him.

It was believed that Talon had once tried to recruit Sojiro, but he did not find them to his
liking. Their aims did not coincide with his own. Following his untimely death, Genji's older
brother, Hanzo, demanded that Genji take a more active role in their late father's empire.
Genji refused, enraging Hanzo.
The clan elders instructed Hanzo to straighten out his wayward younger brother so that he,
too, might help rule the Shimada empire. When Genji refused, Hanzo was forced to kill him.
The tension between the brothers built to a violent confrontation that left Genji on the verge
of death. The act broke Hanzo's heart and drove him to reject his father's legacy, ultimately
leading him to abandon the clan and all that he had worked so hard to attain.

Hanzo believed that he had killed his brother, but in truth Genji was rescued by Overwatch
and the intervention of Dr. Angela Ziegler. The global security force saw Genji as a potential
asset in its ongoing operations to combat the Shimada clan. As Genji's injuries left him
clinging to life, Overwatch offered to rebuild his body in exchange for his help. He was put
through an extensive process of cyberisation, which enhanced his natural speed and agility
and augmented his superlative ninja skills. Transformed into a living weapon, Genji
single-mindedly set about the task of dismantling his family's criminal empire.

Gorilla Rebellion - 14 - 8 years ago

Reasoning: Hammond is 14 years old. Winston is present at Uprising. 10-12 years ago may
be more likely, but 14-8 is certain

In one of the many experiments carried out at Horizon Lunar Colony, animals were given
genetic therapy to assess their adaptation to extended periods of habitation on the moon. As
an unexpected side effect, several of them exhibited exceptional growth in physical size and
brain function. While most of the test subjects were gorillas or other primates, there were
some exceptions, including a hamster named Hammond.

A journal entry on Hammond was recovered By Lucheng Interstellar:

Journal entry 1963-4. Harold Winston. Status update on specimen 8. By now, we're all used
to our super intelligent gorillas on the colony, but the hamster (we named him Hammond)
continues to be one of our biggest surprises. Even though he's grown from the genetic
modification, we have more trouble keeping track of him than any of the other animals.
Somehow, he managed to get out of his cage again; it took us days to find him. I can't help
but wonder what it is he's looking for when he gets out there. He's shown impressive
problem solving skills and adaptability to new situations... and he's overcome all the
challenges that have been placed in front of him. I, for one, can't wait to see what trouble the
little guy gets up to next.

Like the others, Hammond's intelligence grew, and he became more curious about the world
around him. Much to the puzzlement and amusement of the scientists, Hammond would
frequently escape into different parts of the moon base. Though they'd always find him and
return him to his cell, they never figured out the true purpose behind his nightly escapades.
What they didn't know was that Hammond was busy teaching himself the skills of a
mechanic, which would soon come in handy.

The colony was thrown into chaos when the other gorillas led an uprising, killed the mission
scientists, and claimed the colony for their own. They were fed up of all the tests and the
rules so they had hatched a plan. No more injections. No more experiment!

Dyson & Ellie

Not all of the animals participated, however, and one of the gorillas, Winston, was making a
plan to escape to earth. He had built a makeshift rocket for himself in search of a new life
elsewhere. There was nothing left for him here anymore. He couldn’t stay. They didn’t want
him anyway.

Hammond sensed his opportunity and he built a makeshift capsule and secretly hitched it to
Winston's craft as the gorilla blasted off. Together, they would make a new life for
themselves.
As the two entered earth's atmosphere, Hammond’s makeshift craft broke off and landed in
a different location: the wasteland of the Australian Outback. Winston landed at Watchpoint:
Gilbraltar and found a new home with Overwatch, an organisation that represented
everything he had come to admire about humanity. Winston was finally able to live up to the
heroic ideal that had been instilled in him.
Hammond had developed impressive problem solving skills and showed great adaptability to
new situations on the lunar colony and he used all of his knowledge to survive in the
outback.

Since the Outback became an irradiated wasteland the Junkers had built a town around the
destroyed Omnium known as Junkertown. They had won the war and reaped the spoils,
building a new world from the ashes. There were no rules. No mercy. Only the strongest
survived.

Mech battles had become one of the most popular forms of entertainment in Junkertown. A
charismatic and skilled fighter known only as “The Queen” had become a champion of the
Scrapyard and rose to serve as the town ruler with the title of the Junker Queen.

Hammond overcome the challenge that had been placed in front of him a nd modified his
escape pod to enter the lucrative mech battle arena of the Scrapyard. Working his way up
the ranks, "Wrecking Ball" went from contender to champion, though the pilot's identity
remained a mystery to all. He beat competitors such as Kelvin 506 and the Bludger.
Gathering his winnings, Hammond was able to upgrade his mech enough to survive the
dangerous trek out of the Junker-controlled Outback.

Moira joins Overwatch - ~10 years ago

Reasoning: Moira’s profile states it was over a decade ago that she produced her bio. Joined
after McCree and Genji

Moira O'Deorain made waves when she published a controversial paper detailing a
methodology for creating custom genetic programs that could alter DNA at a cellular level. It
seemed like a promising step toward overcoming diseases and disorders and maximizing
human potential.

Dissent among her peers soon followed. Many considered her work to be dangerous
because of its perceived ethical shortfalls, and O'Deorain was even accused of having the
same unchecked desire for scientific advancement that some believed had caused the
Omnic Crisis. In addition, other geneticists were unable to reproduce the results of Moira's
research, which further called her discoveries into question. Instead of kickstarting her
career, her paper seriously damaged her reputation.
She believed that humanity stood on the brink of evolution and she had dedicated her life to
unravelling its secrets. She took risks that others considered to be unwise, for she did not
share their caution. She believed that Overwatch had held back the pace of scientific
discovery for decades. They had believed her methods were too radical and too
controversial and they had tried to silence her. But there were others in the shadows
searching for ways to circumvent their rules.

She received a lifeline in an offer from an unlikely source: Overwatch's covert ops division,
Blackwatch. She continued her work in the shadows while developing new weapons and
technologies for the organisation.
Freed from her shackles, the pace of their research hastened. Together, Moira and
Blackwatch delved deeper into areas forbidden by law, morality, and fear. New patrons
emerged who possessed an appetite for her discoveries.

Eco-Point Antarctica researchers forced in hibernation - 9 years ago

Reason: Rise and Shine short shows 9 years ago

Though many blamed the planet's escalating, unexplained climate phenomena on the
advent of new technologies, the rapidly growing omnic population, and drastically increased
consumption of resources, the true cause remained unknown. To find a solution, Overwatch
established a series of eco-Watchpoints at remote, critical locations worldwide.

Mei-Ling Zhou was a member of this multiyear initiative. As a peerless climatologist, she had
introduced cutting-edge innovations in the field of climate manipulation that protected at-risk
areas in Asia and beyond.

She was assigned to the program's monitoring station at Watchpoint: Antarctica to work
alongside MacRady, Arrhenius, Zhou, Opara, and Torres. When sudden, catastrophic polar
storm battered the installation and cut it off the scientists from the outside world, it left the
facility damaged and the scientists stranded. As their supplies dwindled, they entered
cryostasis in a last-ditch effort to survive until a rescue attempt could be made.
Tracer Joins Overwatch’s Fight Program - ~8 years ago
Reasoning: Lena is 26. She was 19 on her first mission. 18 seems reasonable to be
recruited, although it’s possible it was earlier since she went missing for months

Lena Oxton (call sign: "Tracer") was the youngest person ever inducted into Overwatch's
experimental flight program. Known for her fearless piloting skills, she was handpicked to
test the prototype of a teleporting fighter, the Slipstream. But during its first flight, the
aircraft's teleportation matrix malfunctioned, and it disappeared. Lena was presumed dead.

She reappeared months later, but her ordeal had greatly changed her: her molecules had
been desynchronised from the flow of time. Suffering from "chronal disassociation," she was
a living ghost, disappearing for hours and days at a time. Even for the brief moments she
was present, she was unable to maintain physical form.
Overwatch's doctors and scientists were stumped, and Tracer's case seemed hopeless until
a scientist named Winston designed the chronal accelerator, a device capable of keeping
Tracer anchored in the present. In addition, it gave Tracer the ability to control her own time,
allowing her to speed it up and slow it down at will. Lena Oxton left the flight test program to
train as an Overwatch agent because she believed that she could turn her accident into an
asset. She could make the world a better place.

Several Large Scale Attacks On Overwatch Facilities - ~8 years ago

Reasoning: Shown as before retribution - Oslo specifically mentioned

Talon had been growing bolder, targeting them in cities across the globe. They were
resourceful, determined, and weren’t bound by the same rules as them. An incident in
Capetown lead to Gerard Lacroix needing to save Commander Reyes’ life.

Following a large-scale attack on Overwatch’s facilities in Oslo, Overwatch announced that it

would be conducting a full review of security procedures and Commander Morrison swore
that Overwatch would not rest until the ones behind this attack were brought to justice.
Blackwatch got to work gathering intel so the peacekeeping organisation could pursue
justice. Their findings pointed to one of Talon’s high-ranking member, but taking him down
proved to be a complicated affair.

They had gathered good intel within their Blackwatch facility in Rome and learned that a man
named Antonio Bartalotti was behind the attack. He was an influential businessman and a
high-level player of Talon. His compound in Venice was a hotbed of illegal activity. Known
associates of Antonio included Vialli, Maximilien, and Akinjide Adeyemi.

Antonio had good connections. If they apprehended him, his friends in the government
would secure his release. But the people that worked for him were a different story.
Overwatch could use the intelligence gathered to bring charges against them. It would
disrupt Antonio’s cash flows and without resources he’d lose his friends in high places.

Operation Retribution - 8 years ago

Reason: Stated as 8 years ago

Gerard Lacroix was later injured within the Blackwatch facility in Rome. A Talon agent had
set up a bomb from within and caught Overwatch completely off guard. He would make a full
recovery, but many others were killed.

Reyes knew that Talon and Antonio would get away with the attack. Gerard had known it
too. Morrison wished to open an official investigation with the Italian government. He wanted
to do things by the book. If Overwatch violated any nation’s sovereignty and ignored the law
then it eroded the trust placed in them.

Morrison could never officially sanction an attack. Not “officially”, He knew Overwatch’s
hands were tied. Reyes promised him that no one would ever know Blackwatch was there.
He gathered McCree, Genji, and Moira to respond.

“Our enemies think they can get away with this. They think Overwatch has limits to how far it
will go to protect the world because it follows a system of rules that Talon doesn’t play by.
But what they don’t realise is I don’t play by those rules either” - Gabriel Reyes

They arrived in the Venice safehouse and set up surveillance on the manor. The grounds of
Bartalotti’s compound were heavily guarded by Talon agents, so Blackwatch had worked to
transport surveillance devices into the compound ahead of infiltration. Agent Jesse McCree
also secured a position as a waiter at a local restaurant, although...with mixed results.

The plan was to grab Antonio and get out, executed under the cover of darkness. They
initially followed the original plan and infiltrated the manor. Antonio knew that if Overwatch
took him, a “respected businessman”, would look bad on them in the news. Even if they took
him, his friends would have him released within the week. So Reyes decided to change the
plan. He put a bullet in Antonio and he killed him. Antonio thought he was untouchable, but
he was mistaken.

Then all hell broke loose. Survival became their primary concern. Suddenly it felt like the
entire city was upon them. The situation was highly dangerous but the Blackwatch team
stood by their captain and believed that they got the job done.
For the first time, people knew Blackwatch was out there. Their name was all over the news.
A special UN committee launched a lengthy and highly secretive investigation into the
claims. Reyes was brought into an inquiry for his actions, led by a furious Jack Morrison, Ana
Amari, and Gerard Lacroix. Overwatch would never be the same again.

Overwatch would be brought to its knees by a series of shocking allegations: negligence

resulting in high-profile mission failures; corruption and mismanagement; weapons
proliferation; human rights abuses; and more. The top secret division "Blackwatch" had been
revealed. There were stories of assassination, coercion, kidnapping, torture, and worse.
Governments called on the UN to shut down the "aggressive and repeated violations of
many countries' sovereignty."
Moira’s employment at Overwatch had been a closely kept secret. When it was uncovered
during inquiries following the Venice incident many high-ranking Overwatch officials
disavowed all knowledge of her affiliation with them.

Overwatch never had a shortage of critics. Even in its glory days, many voices called for
severe restrictions on the agency's mission, insisting that such a powerful group of
individuals needed careful oversight. The rumours of black-ops missions - carrying out tasks
like assassination and kidnapping - had been dismissed by the public as paranoid fantasies.
Lots of people would claim that Overwatch had failed to keep the world safe. Protests would
break out and people began to believe that Overwatch was the problem. People called for
Morrison’s head, and they almost got their wish.

UN records indicated that a rebellion tore Overwatch apart from within. The tension between
Reyes and Morrison had become more pronounced as time went on. But as stated at a UN
committee hearing: “sometimes when the closest bonds break, all you can do is pray you
stay out of the crossfire.”

As time passed, criticism became harder to shrug off, and the agency seemed to be
tone-deaf to public concerns. The controversial Backwatch missions stoked public outrage
until it reached a fever pitch. If that had been the end of it, many might have accepted these
missteps as the unavoidable signs of an aging, bloated bureaucracy, suffering under
monolithic leadership that desperately needed a change in direction. The truth was much
worse than that.

New Heads of Talon - 8 years ago

Reasoning: Maximilien and Doomfist shown as new head rising up after Retribution

New faces filled the void left by Antonio - Akande Ogundimu, Maximilien, Vialli. They simply
rose to fill the power vacuum. Not too much had been known about Vialli, but Maximilien
owned a casino in Monaco and several other business around the world.
Akande Ogundimu had believed that humanity had always been tested and that conflict and
war was the crucible through which humanity evolved. That those who fall would be
forgotten and those who rose up would have their names remembered forever.

Akande had been born into a well-regarded Nigerian family, heir to its prosthetic-technology
company. A highly intelligent and charismatic figure, Ogundimu helped to expand his family's
business and position it for the future while dedicating his free time to his first love:
competitive martial arts. He trained in traditional African fighting styles, including Dambe and
Gidigbo, as well as in wrestling and other modern combat systems, incorporating the most
effective techniques into his repertoire. Ogundimu competed in tournaments all over the
continent, utilising his intuition and ability to read opponents alongside his tremendous speed
and strength.

But when he lost his right arm in the aftermath of the Omnic Crisis, it seemed his martial arts
career was finished before he had reached his prime. His company's cybernetic prosthetics
allowed him to recover from his injuries, even making him stronger, but these enhancements
rendered him ineligible for competition. He tried to devote himself to his business with the
same zeal that he had for fighting, but he found nothing that could fill the void… until he was
given a new opportunity by Akinjide Adeyemi, better known to the world as the second
Doomfist - the Scourge of Numbani.

Adeyemi offered Ogundimu the chance to fight with him as a mercenary. Initially wary,
Ogundimu accepted, and discovered that he now had an arena in which he could unleash
his enhanced capabilities. Eventually, Adeyemi brought him into the Talon organisation.
Talon's belief that humanity would be made stronger through conflict resonated with
Ogundimu's personal experiences. Moreover, Talon's power struggles presented a new
challenge that allowed him to use his talent in the boardroom along with his cunning as a
combatant.

Adeyemi was a useful asset to Talon, but the organisation saw far greater potential in
Ogundimu, with his intelligence and his ability to inspire as a commander. Maximilien
respected a man with a vision and thus Akande was more preferable than Adeyemi.

While Adeyemi was content to profit from raids on Numbani, Ogundimu had a grander
vision. This difference in aspiration would lead Ogundimu to kill his teacher and take on the
mantle of Doomfist, along with the eponymous gauntlet.
The Death of Gerard Lacroix - 8-7 years ago
Reason: Between Retribution and Uprising since Gerard is present for Retribution and not
present for Uprising

After several unsuccessful attempts to eliminate Gerard Lacroix, Talon decided to change its
focus to his wife, Amelie. Talon operatives kidnapped and subjected her to an intense
program of neural reconditioning. They broke her will, suppressed her personality, and
reprogrammed her as a sleeper agent. She was eventually found by Overwatch agents,
apparently none the worse for wear, and returned to normal life.

Two weeks later, Gerard Lacroix was killed and Amelie was missing, believed to be
kidnapped after her husband’s murder. In truth, her mission was complete, and she returned
to Talon. They completed the process of turning her into a living weapon. She was given
extensive training in the covert arts, and then her physiology was altered, drastically slowing
her heart, which turned her skin cold and blue and numbed her ability to experience human
emotion.

Elsewhere in the organisation Blackwatch had once again come under scrutiny after
complaints from the Japanese government, and the murder of an Overwatch official had lead
Director Petras order a full investigation into the Cairo incident. Overwatch had quarantined
the Anubis AI two years before, but Egypt had never recovered. Ana found it hard to escape
the fact that they may have been responsible for what had happened.

Operation Uprising - 7 years ago

Reason: Stated as 7 years ago

Twenty years after the war was won against the Omnics, Britain and robots were no closer to
living together in peace. The building of a new home for the Omnics in London was
supposed to be the first step in improving human-robot relations. But in the event of an
historic peace accord, King’s Row had been seized by an extremist faction of robots known
as Null Sector.
Null Sector had been around for a while, operating underground, but the Overwatch team
had been caught off guard - they had alway had a blind spot when it came to Omnics. Null
Sector claimed that they were fighting for Omnic rights, but they were extremists. They would
do whatever it took to achieve their goal.

The people of the UK had treated Omnics poorly. The Omnics had built their cities and did
the jobs that humans didn’t want to do. In return, Omnics had no rights and no citizenship,
and therefore Null Sector had gained support over the years.

Null Sector was holding Mondatta, Mayor Nandah, and a hundred prisoners within the power
plant in London. The area was walled off and air defences were set up all over the area.
Hundreds were killed and thousands in King’s Row were in need of medical aid.

In one month they had undone all the progress that Overwatch had made and destroyed
thousands of years of history. Now they were hunting down survivors and it could spark a
new war between humans and Omnics.
The Prime Minister of England had refused to budge: Overwatch was not permitted to
operate in England. They had been taking a lot of heat, and another public relations
nightmare would be a disaster for Overwatch. Despite this, Jesse McCree had been sent to
London by Reyes to investigate the situation.

Lena Oxton had been recently declared fit for duty, although her condition was still being
monitored. Morrison admired that she stuck with her training, claiming that most in her
position would have given up after accident.

Director Petras wished to speak with Morrison but Morrison chose to ignore him. Instead
Morrison sent four Overwatch members to London against orders . It was to be Lena Oxton’s
first mission.

Blackwatch assets reported heavy fortifications in the area and Null Sector had complete
tactical control. The plan was to take down the air defences, destroy the blockade to the
power plant, secure the area, and rescue the hostages. The team were successful in their
mission, despite encountering heavy resistance within the power plant.

Reinhart Forced to Retire - 6 years ago

Reason: Sojourn mentions an incident involving Reinhardt and Mercy and Tracer discuss
him leaving during Storm Rising (“I miss having him around”)

Having served into his late fifties, Reinhardt was faced with mandatory retirement from
combat operations. Morrison was left worried about sending his strike team out after what
happened with Reinhardt while the team had been on the search for Doomfist, but Sojourn
believed that they were ready. Reyes and Morrison had argued between themselves about
whether they should reassign their entire operation, and many agents questioned whether
this would be the end of things for good.

Despondent about being removed from active duty, Reinhardt feared that his days of
purpose and glory had ended. As times grew darker and Overwatch came under suspicion
of corruption and sedition, Reinhardt could only watch as the cause he had dedicated his life
to defending surrendered in disgrace.

Everyone expected that Brigitte would continue her apprenticeship and follow in her father's
footsteps. But her plans changed due to influence of Reinhardt Wilhelm. A close friend of the
family and Brigitte's godfather, Reinhardt told Brigitte tales of heroes and chivalry as she
grew up. After his retirement and Overwatch's fall, Reinhardt declared that he would become
a knight-errant on a quest to bring justice. Before he left on his adventures, Brigitte surprised
him by asking to join him as his squire. Reinhardt accepted.

Operation Storm Rising - 6 years Ago

Reason: Stated as six years ago

Almost two centuries ago, Clara and Basilio Diaz used their savings to open a small rum
distillery. It was a modest family business, specialising in small batch, barrel-aged rum. Until
2060, few outside of Cuba knew the name Don Rumbotico, but the brand was wildly popular
in Havana. Alicia Diaz, like the generations of Diazes before her, was an expert rum-maker.
The classic Don Rumbotico recipe iwas a closely-guarded family secret, and one celebrated
as a Cuban favourite.

However, things had changed over the years. An anonymous financial group, now revealed
to be Talon, had expressed interest in purchasing the company and distillery. They offered a
lot of money. It could have changed their lives, but Don Rumbotico was her family’s legacy
and Alicia couldn’t put a price on that.

She refused the offer, but then rum shipments began to go missing. When the distillery
burned down in a suspected case of arson, the Diaz family was left with nothing. They were
forced to sell the company for a sliver of its worth.

Under the influence of Talon and their financier Maximilien, Don Rumbotico became a
worldwide brand. Basilio Diaz’s kindly, familiar visage on the label was gone, replaced by
shiny chrome. The distillery had been rebuilt, but the recipes were different.

Overwatch had been attempting to capture Doomfist, but Sojourn believed they had been
going about it the wrong way. His records were clean, but if they followed the paper trail
through the accountant Maximilien then they would find the dirt they needed.

Sojourn planned to put Tracer in charge, with Mercy, Winston, and Genji in support. She
believed that Tracer had grown as a leader since Uprising, and Morrison found it hard to
disagree. The strike team were given the all clear, and Sojourn tracked Maximilien down to
Havana, Cuba at the Don Robotico facility.

Shortly after their purchase of Don Rumbotico - two years prior to the events of Operation
Storm Rising - Talon had also purchased the Havana Sea Fort, a historical landmark
protected by the Cuban government for centuries, and it became private property. Like the
rum distillery, the sea fort, too, was almost unrecognisable. Security guards patrolled its
grounds and unfamiliar helicopters trafficked through its airspace, while its doors remained
closed to the public for the foreseeable future.

The distillery had provided a great opportunity for Talon to launder money, and Maximilien’s
association with the group had kept his pockets filled. Blackwatch believed that the distillery
was the heart of Maximilien’s operations, at least in Havana.

The strike team set up an ambush for Maximilien’s escort and Tracer initiated the chase on
her motorbike. The Talon forces tried to shake the team to no avail. Maximilien managed to
escape on foot and hid within the sea fort while the Overwatch team chased him.

Ever since the new Doomfist had risen up the ranks he had taken a more active hand in
Talon’s business, providing Maximilien with a larger force than anticipated. The strike team
infiltrated the Don Rumbotico distillery to find themselves

Tracer wondered why Maximilien was showing himself now. He had always ran a tight ship
before. Sojourn believed that Talon had started to make mistakes since Doomfist had
shaken up the Talon hierarchy.
Maximilien had attempted to escape via helicopter, but the strike team stopped him before
he could escape. He offered the team a deal and his substantial resources, and the team
took him in for interrogation.

He promised to give them information on Doomfist, but he told them that what they were
asking was not simple and could cause him many problems. However, he hoped that if he
did them this favour, they could perhaps do one for him, too. Maximilien told them that
Doomfist would be in Singapore in three weeks time. He trusted that Overwatch would leave
him out of any discussions that they had with him.

Doomfist was currently in Cairo, meeting with a friend. He explained to the Omnic that the
world didn’t understand visionaries like them. He respected that he was trying to fight for his
kind, but believed that he was doomed to fail. However, with Talon’s help he believed things
could change.
Doomfist Locked Away - 6 years ago
Reason: After Storm Rising

With the help of Maximilien’s information, Genji, Tracer, and Winton had been sent on a
mission to Singapore with the task of subduing Doomfist and locking him away in a
maximum security prison. Winston initially confronted him, but was easily dispatched, being
launched down the street by the Doomfist gauntlet. Doomfist carefully analysed Tracer and
Genji’s movements as they dashed around him until he calculated a punch forcing Genji
slamming down to Earth.

Winston returned to the battle to witness Genji struggling to recover. Doomfist grabbed
Tracer mid-blink, ripping away her chronal accelerator and leaving her incapacitated.
Winston looked on in horror. He released an angry roar as he leapt towards his foe. The two
collided, and it appeared that Winston had managed to subdue Doomfist and end his
tyranny. His Gauntlet would be locked away and Akande was sent to a maximum security
prison where he would wait out his days plotting and planning for the conflicts to come.

Genji Leaves Overwatch - 6 years ago

Reason: after Doomfist capture, but before the fall

Zenyatta, a monk of the Shambali, had disagreed with the new direction of their leader
Mondatta. He believed that the way to repair the problems between humans and omnics was
not through dogmatic teaching but through interpersonal connection and engagement.

Ultimately, Zenyatta followed his own path. He chose to leave the monastery and wander the
world, helping those he meets to overcome their personal struggles and find inner peace.
But, when necessary, he would fight to protect the innocent, be they omnic or human.

As time passed, Genji had felt increasingly at war with himself. He was repulsed by the
mechanical parts of his body and could not come to grips with what he had become. When
his mission was complete, he abandoned Overwatch and wandered the world in search of
meaning.

He drifted for many years before crossing paths with the omnic monk Zenyatta. Though
Genji initially rejected Zenyatta's wisdom, the benevolent omnic would not be deterred. In
time, Zenyatta became his mentor, and under the monk's tutelage, Genji reconciled his dual
existence as both man and machine. He learned to accept that although he had a cyborg
body, his human soul was intact, and he came to see his new form as a gift and a unique
strength.

“Death” of Ana Amari - 6 years ago

Reason: During Storm Rising both Sojourn and Mercy discuss the upcoming “Egypt
situation”, which seems to imply this mission

Overwatch were attempting to rescue some scientists being kept as hostages by Talon in
Egypt. Morrison led the mission, with Ana keeping watch from afar. They couldn’t afford
Talon to obtain the knowledge that the scientists knew about a secret project. Two agents -
Bayless and Al-Farouk - had been taken out from an unknown location and Ana’s position
was compromised.

Talon had reportedly obtained a new sniper. When Morrison and the other agents had
helped the scientists reach the evacuation point he ordered Ana to disengage, but Ana had
felt that she had failed her unit. She wouldn’t let it happen again. She took her shot and hit
her target, only to discover that it was Amelie Lacroix. They had all thought she was dead,
and Ana looked on in shock. Amelie took advantage of Ana’s hesitation, replying with a
bullet of her own that found its way through Ana’s cybernetic eye.

The world had thought Ana was dead. In truth, Ana survived that encounter, despite being
gravely wounded and losing her right eye. She was operated on in a hospital in Poland.
When she woke up, she didn’t remember who she was. She had no name to give them. For
months she sat in the hospital in pain and confusion. Dr Lee told her that she was very lucky
to be alive. The Overwatch team had tried to find her. Gabriel had personally sent McCree to
trace her and Jack used every resource at his disposal. But they were never successful.

During her recovery, she wrestled with the weight of a life spent in combat, and she chose to
stay out of the world's growing conflicts. However, as time passed, she realised she could
not sit on the sidelines while people threatened her city and the innocents around her. She
had lost so much and had said goodbye to so many friends. She had buried the ones closest
to her. But for all that she had lost, she knew there were still people who needed to be
protected. She would be a ghost, but a ghost could still protect others.

Battle of Overwatch HQ - 6 years ago

Reason: stated as 6 years ago
As Overwatch's influence waned, rogue elements within Blackwatch sought to bring down
the organisation and turn it to their own ends. Wanting no part of the infighting, McCree set
off alone and went underground. As public distrust swelled and as the UN investigation
proceeded, a massive explosion wiped out Overwatch's headquarters in Switzerland. Among
the casualties were Morrison and Reyes. The UN had steadfastly maintained that there was
no foul play behind this event.

The United Nations called it an accident; although it was later discovered to be the result of a
battle, a dispute between Overwatch commander Jack Morrison and Blackwatch
commander Gabriel Reyes. Overwatch's death knell was that of two former comrades laying
waste to all they had built. According to Overwatch’s former agents, the outcome was
inevitable.

"After Morrison's promotion to strike commander, his relationship with Reyes changed. The
tension became more pronounced as time went on. I tried to mend things. We all did.
Sometimes when the closest bonds break, all you can do is pray you stay out of the cross
fire." - Angela Ziegler

Angela had been at odds with her superiors and the organisation’s overarching aims even
before she had joined them. When Overwatch dissolved, she dedicated herself to helping
those affected by the war. Though she spent most of her time caring for the broken and
dispossessed in crisis areas around the world, Dr. Ziegler could be counted on to don her
Valkyrie suit whenever innocents were imperiled.

The “Overwatch Generation” had looked up to Morrison. He had taught them that heroes
were real. He had made them believe that anyone could be one. When many heard the
news of his death, they felt a part of their childhood had died with him.

In the wake of such an incident, little could remain hidden. The full transgressions of
Overwatch's shadow operations became known. Even the most ardent defenders inside the
organisation bowed to the truth and called for its dissolution.
The United Nations could do nothing but shut down Overwatch. Few people at the time
doubted it was the right call. The world had never been more peaceful - the biggest threat to
global stability and growth was, in many minds, Overwatch itself. Its time had passed.

The Petras Act was put in place to state that all Overwatch activity was deemed illegal and
punishable by prosecution. Many of Torbjorn’s weapons were stolen or stashed away
around the world. Feeling responsible for his creations, Torbjörn was determined to stop
them from falling into the wrong hands and wreaking havoc on the innocent.

Despite the details released after the incident, Morrison’s death remained a mystery - a
strange fact, given that he was such a public figure. Morrison’s body was never recovered,
but his grave would be placed in the Arlington National Cemetery in Indiana.

At Morrison's memorial service, Reinhardt Wilhelm, one of the group's original members,
said, "He devoted everything he was to Overwatch. He was our moral compass. Our
inspiration. Our friend."

In the years without Overwatch, the world changed. A movement promoting omnic civil rights
and citizenship gained traction. The global economy surged. There seemed to be no
shortage of good news. But, as with Overwatch, the good news hid many darker trends.

Moira Joined Oasis

Reason: Some time after the fall of Overwatch

Moira O'Deorain was forced to turn to unconventional sources of funding after the fall of
Overwatch. Thanks to her brilliance and their shared desire to achieve scientific
advancement at any cost, she was invited to join the scientific collective that had founded
the city of Oasis as their Minister of Genetics. Yet some whispered that the shadowy Talon
organisation had already been supporting her for years, aiding her experiments in exchange
for utilising the results for their own purposes.
Though O'Deorain would go to any lengths to make scientific breakthroughs, her work was
still unknown to most of the world. But now that she had been freed from all constraints, it
was only a matter of time before everything changed.

Baptiste Leaves Talon - 4 years ago

Reasoning: mentioned in “What You Left Behind”

While many Talon agents sought to take advantage of the hole left by Antonio, other Talon
operatives had become dissatisfied with life. Baptiste found that his unit’s orders had
escalated in brutality, expanding into assassinations and operations with civilian casualties.
Confronted by his team's actions, Baptiste realised he was perpetuating a cycle of violence
like the one that had destroyed his own community.

As they arrived at Monte Cristi, Baptiste heard the voice of the squad’s analyst, Nguyen,
filter through his earpiece as a larger man, Mauga, joked alongside him. Mauga had always
liked to play the big, dumb brue, but he was sly and dangerous, which Baptiste appreciated.

Captain Cuerva, their commanding officer, debriefed the squad. The Playa Cartel had been
encroaching on their territor. Their mission was to find and eliminate their lead, Daniel
Fernandez. Intelligence had located his safehouse and they were to move in, extract him,
and get out.

Baptiste felt a sense of uneasiness that he couldn’t shake though. The last missions had
been rough, and some had involved civilians. That had deeply troubled Baptiste. He had
joined because he had nowhere else to go. After those last missions, he’d thought about
leaving. But he’d known better. The only way anyone left Talon was in a coffin.

As the hover carrier landed the crew found himself outside a small fishing village, quiet and
dark. The mission went according to plan at first. They’d dropped in and made their way into
the Playa Cartel’s hideout with little issue. But when they made it to Fernández’s safe room,
they found that he was gone.
Captain Cuerva had ordered them to tear the town apart until they located the target. So
they’d gone, breaking down doors and screaming for people to get out. All they found were
terrified civilians, and Baptiste had thought the mission was a wash. Frustrated, he’d stepped
outside to survey the area. That was when Talon aircraft swooped in and opened fire on the
town.

Monte Cristi was a shelled-out wreck. Baptiste had been caught in the first blast and thrown
back into the house. His helmet was damaged, and he wrestled it off. When he got to his
feet, he found the family who lived there trapped under debris. He struggled to free them and
usher them to safety, but when he got to the street, he realized that the whole neighborhood
was gone. While he was distracted, the family scattered.

Everything was on fire. Baptiste stumbled through the flames, scanning for the enemy. He
could barely see. The town was a war zone, and Talon soldiers moved through the smoke
like wraiths, their red helmets gleaming. Houses burned around him, their roofs collapsing
inward. All he could hear was gunfire and the screaming of civilians.

Baptiste caught sight of something glittering. His squad mates were building a pile of looted
goods in the middle of the street. Valuables stacked on one another, heaps of clothing.
People’s possessions and family heirlooms, jammed together into crates. A cluster of his
squad mates dug through the mass, claiming items for themselves. Private Doubleday raked
his hands through the jewelry and Mazzei pelted him with antique coins. Another private,
Pacanowsky, tossed fistfuls of two thousand-peso bills into the air, where they rained down
on the rest of the squad. They were laughing like they were having fun.

He was reminded of Makati, Singapore, and all the other terrors Talon caused. As he
crouched over the edge of a fishing boat, he untied its mooring rope. Cuerva had sent
Mauga in search of him and he tried to tempt him back, but Baptiste refused. He would
sooner Mauga shoot him first.

Cuerva called out to Mauga asking if he’d found Baptiste. He chose to lie, allowing his friend
to leave. Baptiste abandoned Talon, disgusted with what he had done, and was thankful that
Mauga had not stopped him. Now he was determined to forge a new path for himself.

Talon, of course, refused to let Baptiste leave. He knew far too much. Talon operatives were
sent to silence him and Baptiste drifted from place to place to stay under the radar, aiding in
humanitarian efforts across the globe.

Agent after agent came for him, including Baptiste’s former comrades, but the few Talon
members who managed to track him down were never seen again. He was tracked down to
Tortuga by his former Captain, D. Cuerva. He hoped to talk sense into him. He knew better
than to underestimate him, for he had trained Baptiste himself, and he was one of their best.
He had never known a medic to be such a good shot, and his adaptability to new situations
was a rare talent. They had all seen their fair share of conflict, but Baptiste was built to
survive.
Baptiste had already taken down three of the soldiers - his former friends Pacanowsky,
Mazzei, and Doubleday - so Cuerva prepared the rest of the team to move out. If all went
well, everything would be settled and they would be on their way home. He prayed that
Baptiste was among them, playing cards and drinking rum, instead of lying in a shallow
island grave. Either way, he would not fail.

Baptiste had other plans though. He now knew that making a living was not enough. He
would make a difference, he would fight for a better world. For some he would offer
bandages, for others a bullet. He had made his choice.

Siberian Omnium Attacks Russia

Reason: Before Recall, presumed beginning of the second omnic crisis

Aleksandra Zaryanova had become well known as a celebrated athlete in Russia. She was a
weightlifter and a bodybuilder and identified by the national athletics program as a potential
star. She had trained extensively, moving up the ranks while representing her country, and
she was expected the shatter longstanding records in the upcoming world championships.

But on the eve of the tournament, an attack came from the long-dormant Siberian omnium,
and her village was thrust into war once again. Aleksandra immediately withdrew from the
competition and rushed home to enlist in the local defence forces, sacrificing the life of fame
and fortune she might have had.

Her self sacrifice to protect her family, friends, and country in a time of war meant that she
became a symbol to many, and a stalwart fellow soldier to others. But for Aleksandra, it was
a chance to use her great strength to protect the ones she loved.

Battle of Boklovo
Reasoning: Presumed after the beginning of the Second Omnic Crisis. Before Torb meeting
Bastion, and presumably before recall

Boklovo, the capital of the small country of Kurjikstan, was under attack by an Omnic. It was
a special class of Omnic called a Titan - although this one had been retrofitted to be
especially good at spotting and eliminating threats, like the Kurjikstani soldier who were
looking for a way to stop it.

Torbjorn had arrived to stop the Omnic before it could do any more damage. He learned that
his old acquaintance Sven was behind the attack. Sven claimed that he was enforcing the
preservation of humanity. He believed that advancements in military technology and
weapons of war were great deterrents. To fight back the Omnics they would need to be
bigger and better than them.

Sven believed that Kurjikstan was a corrupt dictatorship bent on expansion. Its methods
were ruthless and immoral. It was becoming a dangerous, increasingly unpredictable player
on the global stage. This campaign against them was to be his demonstration. His ultimate
weapon. In the hands of a responsible government it would save lives.

When Torbjorn watched the Omnics rise up he understood it. It infuriated him, but he could
understand. He believed Sven didn’t have an excuse. Torb would put an end to his plans
and bring him down before he could do any more harm.

Junkrat & Roadhog’s Crime Spree

Reason: Unsure of timeline. Before Lumerico plant and Overwatch’s recall. Seemed to
continue for years

Junkrat came to notoriety when he discovered an extremely valuable secret in the bones of
the Australian omnium. Though few knew the nature of what he found, he was nonetheless
pursued by bounty hunters, gangs, and opportunists wherever he went, until he made a deal
with the Junker enforcer Roadhog, who grudgingly agreed to be his personal bodyguard in
exchange for a fifty-fifty share of the spoils.

When Junkrat and Roadhog were kicked out of Junkertown, Junkrat came up with an idea
involving money and explosives. Their spree of mayhem and chaos had caused untold
millions in property damage around the world, stretching from the Australian outback to
King’s Row and beyond. Part of the spree included an audacious attempt of the Bank of
Dorado. English, French, and Latin American authorities had all offered rewards for
information of the fugitives.
When the two returned to Junkertown after their spree they devised another plan, but
Junkrat ruined it immediately and the Junkers locked them out. Following that, Junkrat had
the bright idea to “go legit”.

There had been an incident at the downtown Hyde Global factory in Sydney and the workers
had been taken hostage by Omnic terrorists. The owner had offered Junkrat and Roadhog
money if they dealt with the situation quietly. They were getting paid to get rid of Omnics. It
was a dream come true for them. During the operation they learned that the robots weren’t
Omnics at all. They were security drone built by Hyde Global. They had been set up.

It was revealed that in the time period after Overwatch disbanded, Hyde Global had seen a
drop in revenue for a fair amount of time; enough to give its shareholders cause for concern.
The plan was to use Junkrat and Roadhog to destroy the building to grant the company an
insurance payout to help with the financial situation.

Rogue Anubis AI
Reason: Not sure on specifics. Before Doomfist escape, before Ana and Soldier’s reunion
and before Ana tells Pharah she’s alive

With her exemplary record, Fareeha had been well placed to join the ranks of Overwatch ,
but before she had that opportunity, Overwatch was disbanded. She had gotten an udjat
tattoo, an Eye of Horus, to honour her mother’s memory. Her mother had told her that it was
a symbol of protection and Fareeha thought that it would protect her.

After leaving the army with a commendation for distinguished service, she was offered
employment with Helix Security International, a private security firm contracted to defend the
artificial intelligence research facility beneath the Giza Plateau. Their company policy was
clear: The squad services the mission. Her squad included Tariq, Mahmud, Saleh, Aizad,
khalil, and Okoro
The top-secret facility was touted as vital to the safety of not only the region but countries
across the globe. Fareeha gladly accepted the choice assignment and received training in
the Raptora Mark VI, an experimental combat suit designed for rapid mobility and
devastating firepower. Under the call sign "Pharah," she worked to safeguard the AI
installation. Though she mourned Overwatch's passing, she still dreamt of fighting the good
fight and making a difference on a global scale.

It had been believed that Helix Security should have upgraded the Anubis facility after they
had taken it over a few years back. But now the Anubis AI - one of the “God Programs”
quarantined after the Omnic Crisis - had broken its containment.

Helix had sent in an engineering team to regain control of the command center but there had
been dead air since. The sentry bots sent out by Anubis saw humans as a threat, and began
shooting. If the Anubis AI got past the Helix firewalls it would be capable of terrible things.

Pharah had always believed in the mission. No life was more important that getting the job
done. Not when the world was at stake. Captain Khalil reminded her that her squad was the
mission - her family. She would have to make them want to follow her. It was something her
mother understood well.
Suddenly the Anubis AI had control of all Omnics in the area. Pharah’s team took flight, but
Captain Khalil was badly wounded. He died, reminding Pharah to take care of those around
her, and they would take care of her.

Anubis was powerful, but it was old. It had tried to link the Omnics together as a hive mind.
What happened to one of them happened to all of them. The plan was to create a feedback
loop to paralyse them all - including Anubis.

With Anubis stopped, the rest of the Omnics fell. Captain Khalil had fallen with Pharah being
named as a replacement to him. In that moment she realised that her mother’s tattoo wasn’t
meant to protect her. It would mean that she was the one who protects.
Overwatch Recall
Reason: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB5zlHMsM7k&feature=youtu.be After Second
Omnic Crisis continued to devastate Russia. After LumeriCo completed first of new power
plants in Doraco. Before Museum heist for Doomfist’s Gauntlet

The Second Omnic Crisis had continued to devastate Russia and the conflict between
Omnics and humans had claimed over 50,000 lives. Russia had begun a coordinated
offensive against the Omnics and Katya Volskaya, CEO of Volskaya Industries, had
announced increased Svyatogor mech production after the new attacks from the Siberian
omnium.

Meanwhile Lumerico had complete the first of its new power plants in Mexico. The Doomfist
exhibit had been scheduled to be opened on Numbani unity day but the unity festival had
been postponed after anonymous threats that the museum would be subject to attack.

Winston had been designing a new shield generator with the help of Athena at Watchpoint:
Gibraltar, modified from one of his chronal accelerator designs. He constantly contemplated
the recall of all agents whenever he heard anything negative on the news. But recalling
Overwatch agents to active duty would always come with great risk.

Athena had detected intruders of Talon, led by the Reaper. He wished to extract the
Overwatch agents database to gain access to their locations. Winston managed to
quarantine the virus and neutralise Reaper and the Talon forces, but not before Reaper
secured several names and locations of agents. As the system turned on he remembered
something that Harold Winston had said to him a long time ago:

“Never accept the world as it appears to be. Dare to see it for what it could be” - Harold
Winston

He initiated the Overwatch recall and established agent connections. Tracer would be the
first the answer.
Death of Mondatta
Reason: Night after recall since recall mentons Mondatta is making a speech

In London, Mondatta was performing a speech aimed at uniting humans and Omnics
together. Widowmaker had been tasked to kill him by Talon, but Tracer sought to put a stop
to Talon’s plans.

Mondatta left the stage as Widowmaker and Tracer battled on the rooftops of London,
fighting to gain an advantage. Amelie needed just one moment. She took aim at Tracer’s
chronal accelerator and Tracer blinked through, only for the bullet to continue along its
trajectory and hit Mondatta. He was killed.

Tensions between humans and omnics had never been higher, particularly after the
assassination of the omnic spiritual leader Tekhartha Mondatta. In London, it hadn’t been
this bad since the Null Sector Uprising seven years before.

War would be inevitable. Local political leaders accused certain corporations of using covert
operatives to "persuade" government officials into accepting exploitive deals, and when that
failed, of hiring mercenaries to enact more permanent solutions. There were shadow
organisations operating with impunity, often leaving a trail of dead civilians in their wake.

Talon Interrogate Vermand Sainclair

Reasoning: 3 days after recall, as per “What You Left Behind”

Baptiste had returned to the Caribbean to work alongside his old friend Roselin who now
worked in a small clinic as a doctor. Since leaving Haiti, and Talon, Baptiste had wandered
the globe, never staying in one place for too long. But he always found his way back to
Port-de-Paix. The clinic had fallen on tough times, with the real problem that Sainclair
Pharmaceuticals - run by Vernand Sainclair - kept ratcheting up their prices. They had
struggled to afford their medication before, but now it had become impossible.
Rumours had surfaced of Overwatch’s return and some among the clinic hoped that they
could drive Vernand out of town. Baptiste understood; he’d dreamed about Overwatch when
he was a teenager, too. He had believed in shining heroes, like the ones on TV and
recruitment posters, who kept the peace and protected people around the world. He’d
wanted to be like that, once. That was why he’d joined the Caribbean Coalition and become
a medic. But Overwatch had never come to Haiti, and by the time the organisation was
disbanded, he had set those dreams quietly aside. There were many ways to help people,
and not all were as easy as having your face on a poster.

After work he headed to his favourite bar, a place called Lefort’s. It was a popular local spot,
and he had known the owner, Monsieur Lefort, since he was a kid. He was a cheerful,
friendly man who used to give Baptiste and Roseline glasses of papaya juice on hot summer
days. Lefort’s was a place where people came to unwind. But today something was wrong.
Lefort’s was nearly empty, despite the late hour.

Only two people sat at the bar. The first was a giant, broad-shouldered man covered in
tattoos. He was dressed like a tourist, in a tacky tropical shirt and a pair of sunglasses, and
his dark hair had a streak of white running through it like a lightning strike. The other person
at the bar, a thin, sharply-dressed Vietnamese man. They both turned to Baptiste, but he
had already recognised them. They were two of his old friends from Talon - Mauga and
Nyugen. Baptiste counted the exits to the bar: the windows along the walls; the back exit
through the kitchen; the front door; all of them an eternity away.

Mauga told his old friend that they just happened to be in town for a job, and it was always
nice to get away from Talon HQ in Rome. But there was no such thing as coincidence when
to came to Mauga or Nyugen. Baptiste had spent four years evading Talon’s notice; they
would have had to go out of their way to find him. This had Mauga’s fingerprints all over it.
The two of them were to return Baptiste back to Talon HQ. He could fight, but he knew what
that would mean for the clinic and the bar...He felt his options narrowing, falling away like
dead leaves. There had to be a way out, if he could just find it. Nyugen and Mauga informed
Baptiste that Vernand Sinclair had stopped paying Talon what he owed. He had a monopoly
and controlled the market, but he had raised his price too high and there was no one left to
buy. He had been raking in money hand over fist, stealing from both Baptiste’s people and
Talon. So they were to pay him a visit and remind him who he owed his success to.

This could be Baptiste’s one chance to negotiate for everything the clinic needed. But then,
he knew Mauga and Nyugen too well to trust them even a single bit. They’d gotten the jump
on him; they knew where he’d be and laid in wait. They also knew about the clinic, so even if
he managed to cut and run, Roseline and the others would be in danger. He might be able to
handle Nguyen in a one-on-one fight, but Mauga was like a demon. Taking them both at the
same time was out of the question.

Nyugen passed him the details of the job. He disagreed that Baptiste was the right man for
it, and thought he was unreliable, but Mauga had insisted. The analyst left first and Mauga
followed. Baptiste was left to wonder what happened afterwards. After all, the only way to
leave Talon was in a coffin.

Vernand Sainclair’s mansion sat on a beautiful, sprawling plot of land. It rose three stories
from the ground, a stately building with pointed rooftops, elegant balconies, and ornate trim.
As they were led into the mansion, Baptiste noticed that something felt off. Nguyen’s brief
had mentioned that Vernand’s security forces were part Talon, part private military
contractors. But there were no Talon soldiers in sight. Nguyen walked ahead with their
guide, and Baptiste and Mauga brought up the rear. Baptiste glanced at Mauga, who nodded
slightly.

Their guide opened a heavy set of doors, revealing rows of bookshelves. A half-dozen
armed guards waited inside the library, but there was no sign of Vernand Sainclair. Quick as
lightning, Mauga stepped in front of Nguyen, activating an energy shield. Baptiste covered
the rear, rifle up as the doors slammed shut behind them. The guards raised their weapons,
but the first shot was Nguyen’s, from a sidearm that Baptiste hadn’t even seen him draw.
One man went down without a sound. The hail of enemy gunfire rattled against Mauga’s
shield, but it held fast. Baptiste incapacitated the two guards closest to him with a series of
expert shots. He turned and caught the third before they could rush around the shield.
Nguyen shot another, then took aim at the last guard standing.

They left one man alive for Mauga to interrogate. These were the moments when the
friendly, fast-talking mask slipped, and Baptiste could see the killer beneath. Mauga was
both, and more dangerous for it. Only one person had been able to talk him down in this
state, and that was Baptiste. He’d always been able to rein him in with patience and careful
words, but it had been years, and Mauga was stronger than ever.

Baptiste had slipped back into familiar patterns, acting on habit and muscle memory, before
he’d been able to think about it. Even during the interrogation. It had been too easy to
become the old Baptiste. He’d spent so many years breaking himself of his old habits, and it
felt like they’d grown back up overnight, twice as strong as before. Was it Mauga’s influence,
or was it something in himself that he couldn’t kill?

He’d spent so many years running, and this felt right—not being part of Talon, but having a
place where he belonged, with a dependable team at his back. That was what he’d found
when he joined the Caribbean Coalition, and later with Mauga and their squad. Taking care
of people centered him, made him feel whole. But Talon was different. What they asked him
to do ate away at his soul. In the end, he’d left for a reason, and he couldn’t forget that.

The guard informed them that Vernand was in his office on the top floor, bu Baptiste studied
the blueprint, hunting for anything that looked out of the ordinary. Men like Vernand Sinclair
always had a way out. They made their way to the top at the stairs and found Sinclair’s office
at the end of a long hallway on the third floor. Mauga grinned and rammed the door with his
shoulder, banging it open.
Vernand swore his loyalty to Talon, and when they did not believe him, he promised that he
had information they would need. He tapped on a file on his data pad and a golden hologram
of the earth popped up, rotating gently in the air. Then, a series of bright points of light began
to glitter across the globe. As the earth turned, dossiers popped up over the points of light -
Overwatch agents.

Vernand had received the call three days prior and Baptiste realised that before him stood
one of his childhood heroes, a man willing to throttle his country to turn a profit and betray
his organization to spare his own life.

He told them that Overwatch had always taken him for granted. He believed the organisation
was poisoned from the very start, and the longer he was there, the more he could see that it
was slowly rotting from the inside out. By the time the U.N. disbanded Overwatch, he’d fed
Talon enough information to keep them busy for years and he’d been handsomely
compensated for his troubles.

Mauga and Baptiste had joined for the money, and because they had nowhere else to go.
But Sainclair was different. He’d had choices. And then he chose to stand by as Overwatch
burned, with a match in his hand. Working for Talon gave him something that Overwatch
never could. Now he had exclusive information to offer them.

His only mistake was assuming they didn’t already have access to that information, or that
he was the only ex-Overwatch they had on their payroll. Baptiste knew it would take ust one
shot, and so many wrong would be righted. Sainclair had done so much damage, and
refused to help so many people in need. He was the reason the clinic struggled to stock
medicine, and why the neighborhood suffered without treatment.

But would a bullet in his head fix any of that? Baptiste had never been able to execute a man
in cold blood, even when he was in Talon. It would be more than was a step back into the life
he’d promised he’d left. It would be a step beyond the point of no return. And it was a step
he wasn’t willing to take.
He threw down a flashbang and grabbed Sainclair. Together they crashed through the
skylight. Baptiste heard a gunshot, and pain tore through his left arm. He didn’t have to look
to know who had fired that shot, and that he was lucky to have survived. They escaped
through the trees below and slipped away into the undergrowth, Sainclair following behind
him.

By the time Baptiste made it to the wharf, he’d lost his pursuers. Sainclair’s security force
didn’t know the city like he did, and neither did Mauga or Nguyen. At least Sainclair had
stopped fighting him once he realised that Baptiste was his best chance at getting out of the
situation alive.

The two escaped into a warehouse and Baptiste promised Sainclair that he would send
someone to retrieve him in a couple of hours. Baptiste left, making a beeline for the private
vessels, but he heard a familiar voice behind him. Mauga had let him go once, he couldn’t do
it a second time.

Mauga began firing at him, and Baptiste was pinned down. He needed a miracle. He opened
up his bag to retrieve a disc-shaped device. It was something he’d been working on for
months, and it was still just a prototype, but maybe...He threw the disc into the air and
unloaded his clip into the fusion-energy charging station beside Mauga. The resulting
explosion shattered the air. When the smoke cleared, Mauga was gone. Baptiste lay on one
end of the pier, battered but breathing. The prototype device hummed in the air, emitting a
protective field of energy around him. It was the only thing that had kept him alive.

On the dock was one of the only remaining vessels, a luxury yacht docked at the far end of
the pier. It had Sainclair painted across its stern in bold, flowing script. Baptiste made it an
hour away from Port-de-Paix before he allowed himself to relax. The yacht’s motor hummed
as the vessel cut through the water. The ocean stretched out all around him, an endless
expanse of blue. The sea breeze smelled like freedom.

Baptiste turned on Sainclair’s data pad and the holographic globe popped up, followed by
the profiles of the Overwatch agents. Their real names, their call signs, their vital stats. He
turned the globe with one finger, reading the files. He spotted a familiar face hovering over
the Middle East: a blonde woman he had met at a humanitarian aid site in Venezuela. They
had worked together for almost a week before he’d had to move on. There was something
about her calm, steady demeanor and self-assurance that reminded him of Roseline.

He remembered Mercy from the recruitment posters. But the Overwatch agent rising above
the battlefield on golden wings seemed so different from Dr. Ziegler, performing triage on
suffering people and sweating in a makeshift tent clinic. If she was a former Overwatch
agent, then surely she’d gotten the recall, too. Baptiste tapped the glowing dot marking her
last known position on the map. He’d thought that Overwatch was dead, but maybe it wasn’t.
If Talon was coming for Dr. Ziegler, then she had a right to know. He’d need help tracking
her down, but luckily, he knew just who to ask.

He opened an encryption app on his phone, entered the password, and hit the call button on
the bottom of the screen. It only rang twice before a familiar voice came through the
speaker. It was someone he called “Sombra”, and he had a favour to ask.

Genji Confronts his Brother

Reason: After Recall

Hanzo had returned to infiltrate the Shimada castle. For years, Hanzo’s grief drew his life
into discord and he knew only bitterness and sorrow. Without Genji he had been lost. He had
returned to heal. To put value in humility to find peace. He had returned on the day of Genji’s
death every single year to honour his brother.

Genji had come to confront Hanzo. Hanzo had dealt with assassins that had been sent to kill
him before and his one did not bother him. The two brothers fought once more. He informed
the assassin that killing his brother was both his duty and his burden, but that did not mean
that he did not honour Genji.
Genji revealed himself to Hanzo, but he refused to grant Hanzo the death he wished for. He
still had a purpose in this life. Hanzo looked upon Genji’s face, questioning what he had
become. Genji had accepted who he was, and he had forgiven Hanzo for his actions. Now
Hanzo must forgive him. The world was changing once again, and it was time to pick a side.
The two set out to rebuilt what they had once destroyed.

Mei Wakes up
Reason: After Recall

The rescue of the scientists at Watchpoint: Antarctica never came. It was years later when
the team's cryogenics chamber was finally discovered. Mei, still in hibernation, was the only
survivor.

She was shocked to learn that she had been in hibernation. Even more shocking was the
fact that Overwatch hadn’t come for them. She then panicked, rushing to the other scientists
cryopods. None of them had survived - Opara, Arrhenius, Torres, Macready, Adams...all
gone.
The world Mei awoke to had gone through considerable changes: Overwatch was no more,
the serious climate issues had worsened, and none of the eco-Watchpoints were in
operation. Any clues that they had uncovered were lost.

Mei had decided to continue her work on her own. Equipped with a portable version of her
climate-manipulation technology, she travelled around the world, hoping to re-establish the
eco-network and track down the causes of the threats to the planet's ecosystem. Winston
told her to write in a journal about her journey. He thought that people might find her unique
perspective interesting.

Reinhardt Contemplates Overwatch Return

Reason: After recall, but unsure on specifics. Reinhardt seems to contemplate return and
responds quickly, but the Blizzardworld map shows Winston, Tracer, Torb, and Bastion
together with no Reinhardt. Torb, Rein and Brigitte spent christmas together. Needs
clarification

As a squire, Brigitte had many responsibilities, the most important of which was the upkeep
of Reinhardt's Crusader armor (a design she was familiar with as the current version was
designed by her father). But more and more, she found her main job was taking care of
Reinhardt himself, trying to protect him from his overenthusiasm even as his body was
breaking down from years of combat.
The two of them had been low on supplies and fuel, only having enough money for the
essentials. As they travelled through the nearest town they heard reports of armed
scavengers raidings towns in the region claiming them as their territory. However, the local
authorities were inept and underfunded and couldn’t do anything to stop them.

People had been leaving the town in in droves and the mayor had no more money to pay the
Dragons. Reinhardt had tried to intervene, but there was nothing he could do. The Dragons
mocked him, stating that he used to be a hero, but now he was just a sad old man stuck in
the past. He had been too stubborn to realise the world had already passed him by.

Reinhardt’s Crusader armour wouldn’t be able to handle another battle in the condition it was
in. But Reinhardt refused to give in. One day his armour would fall apart, but until that day
came, he would fight. He had sworn to carry Overwatch’s ideals on and restore hope to the
troubled world. To seek out tyranny and evil wherever they took root and to bring the
hammer of justice down upon the wicked.
Reinhardt donned his armour to fight the Dragons, defeating them in combat. He warned
then that if they troubled the people of this land again, he would not show them mercy like
this time. When the mayor asked what he could do for Reinhardt, he simply replied that
seeing justice done was its own reward.

Eventually, Brigitte realised that serving only as a mechanic wasn't enough, and that the best
way she could aid Reinhardt was to become a warrior in her own right. While Reinhardt
trained her in combat, Brigitte began to build her own suit of armor in secret. Brigitte would
fight at Reinhardt's side to protect him and any others in need as knight and squire
journeyed to make the world a better place, one battle at a time.

When her godfather received Winston’s call, Brigitte pleaded with Reinhardt not to join them.
It wasn’t his fight anymore. Reinhardt told her that he had been called and he must answer.
Always. In the end, she couldn’t let him fight alone. It wasn’t enough now to wait until the
battle was over to fix Reinhardt’s armour and bandage his wounds. Reinhardt had been
Overwatch’s shield, now she would become his.

Bastion Sighted in Sweden

Reason: Presumably after spending christmas with Reinhardt since Bastion isn’t present.
Complication since Reinhardt seems to respond to Winston’s call early on

A bastion unit had been detected in Sweden, to the shock of the Swedish locals. The military
was dragging its feet, thinking that the reports were a hoax. The locals decided that they
would have to track it down and take it out themselves.

Torbjorn spoke up among the crowd, joking that they would might as well throw rocks at the
Bastion rather than use rifles. He would take care of it instead. This Bastion unit had been
sighted a number of times, but had yet to attack anyone. Torbjorn concluded that it was
damaged and its self repair function was probably busted too.

Torbjorn had set up a trap but it had failed. Torb was shocked when the Bastion unit began
to run, stating that they never ran. Something wasn’t right and it was only a matter of time
before its protocols kicked in and it killed someone. But they never did. Torbjorn realised this
unit was different. And if it could change…
Torbjorn asked the hunt to be called off. He wouldn’t allow any harm to come to this Bastion.
When they refused he released his trap on them and left. He had already had enough blood
on his hands. Enough for a lifetime.

He approached the Bastion, telling it that if it wanted to survive then it would have to follow
his rules. Firstly, they were not friends. If it pointed its gun at him then it would as good as
slag. Secondly, it wasn’t allowed to stop and play with the animals. Torb planned to accept
Winston’s call. He would rejoin Overwatch, and Bastion would join him too.

Rio’s Contract with Vishkar

Reason: Before last Lumerico plant built, before Sombra hacks, before Lucio fame

Though she was one of Utopaea's top architechs, the Vishkar Corporation saw far greater
potential in Satya Vaswani's abilities. Giving her the moniker "Symmetra," Vishkar had sent
her on clandestine missions around the world to uphold its corporate interests and expand
its influence into other countries.

Sanjay Korpal and Satya Vaswani had arrived in Rio de Janeiro to speak with the mayor of
Brazil. The mayor informed them that they had chosen to go with the Calado Proposal rather
than choosing Vishkar for their project, which Sanjay found insulting. Vishkar’s complex
would have been superior by every conceivable metric. Their hard-light technology had been
making the world a better place. Their architechs were reshaping cities according to their
needs in the blink of an eye.
The problem lay with Vishkar’s plans extending further into the favelas. Calado had a long
history with the city, but Satya could not accept - could not understand - the decision. She
could get the contract. It would make all their lives better.

Calado owned substandard buildings citywide but there was nothing out of the ordinary with
him. Sanjay Korpal chose to take matters into his own hand, destroying the Calado building
and everyone inside. He wouldn’t let Calado stand in the way of the good they would do in
the city. .

Lúcio Correia dos Santos had grown up in Rio de Janeiro, in a poor and crowded favela that
was hit hard by the financial upheaval following the Omnic Crisis. As Brazil began the long
process of recovery, he had wanted to find a way to lift the spirits of those around him. He
found his answer in music and its power to bring people together and even help them forget
their troubles, if only for a short time. He performed on street corners, in block parties, and
as he got older, at a string of legendary underground shows.

But Lúcio's close-knit community was thrown into chaos when the multinational Vishkar
Corporation secured a contract to redevelop large tracts of the city. Lúcio and his neighbors
had been told that the development would improve their lives. However, that promise never
became a reality. Vishkar imposed controls on the residents in the name of building a more
orderly society: enforcing curfews, cracking down on what the company perceived as
lawless behavior, and exploiting the populace as a cheap labour force.
Months later Vishtar opened their new city center. The mayor had had no choice but to allow
Vishar to step in after Calado’s demise. The fire in the favela had all been part of Korpal’s
plan. Satya just had to keep believing that they were making the world a better place.

Sanjay had been in talks with the LumeriCo CEO Guillermo Portero who was concerned
about the recent press in Vishkar’s development in Rio. Sanjay assured him that it was just a
blip on the radar and assured Guillermo that their negotiations would be kept private until he
was comfortable to discuss them in public.

Lucio wouldn’t stand for what Vishkar was doing to his city. His father had been the one who
had invented Vishkar’s sonic technology. The core tech had been his life’s work, owned and
patented by Vishkar. He believed Vishkar was using his father, and Satya too.

He stole the Vishkar sonic technology that had been used to suppress the people, and he
converted it into a tool to rally them to action. In a popular uprising, they drove Vishkar out of
their neighborhoods. Lúcio's leadership made him a star overnight and a symbol for positive
social change. His music skyrocketed in popularity. Whereas he had once performed locally,
he was now filling arenas across the world, touring to promote his debut album,
Synaesthesia Auditiva.

Manhunt for Soldier: 76

Reason: Hero shows Lucio posters so is it after his world tour? Might need to change with
more evidence

A vigilante known only as Soldier: 76 had revealed himself in a string of attacks that
crisscrossed the globe, targeting financial institutions, shadowy corporations, and secure
Overwatch facilities. The use of bombs on the corporate offices and financial institutions was
particularly worrying.

According to United States government spokesperson Marc Guerra, there was an incident
that occurred around 4 a.m local time at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, a remote facility in
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Helix Security International personnel who were stationed at
the former Overwatch base engaged in a firefight with the attacker, but they failed to
apprehend him.

There were no deaths reported, but several Helix employees were being treated for non-life
threatening injuries. This event came after a week during which multiple former Overwatch
bases were targeted. In each case, the intruder stole experimental weaponry and other
military equipment from the facilities. Guerra has confirmed that similar items were taken
from Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, including a prototype for a heavy pulse rifle.
Though to the outside world his motives were inscrutable, there were those who claimed that
he was a former Overwatch agent, determined to shed light on the conspiracy that brought
down the organisation.

UN officials had declined to comment on Soldier: 76's identity. However, security personnel
who were present at the former Overwatch base break-ins described the attacker as
someone well versed in covert ops tactics. Surveillance footage of Soldier: 76 showed him
performing superhuman feats of strength and endurance. Noted forensic expert Amir Nejad,
PhD, had analysed the footage. He determined that Soldier: 76 was precisely the same
height and build that Morrison was in his last public appearance.

The veracity of the allegations leveled against Overwatch remained a point of contention.
Some historians and political pundits had questioned the motivations of those who first made
the corruption charges against the group. Was Soldier: 76 on a mission to avenge the fall of
Overwatch and restore its name? Was he trying to uncover a vast conspiracy that
discredited and destroyed Overwatch? Or Was he simply a bitter old soldier, clinging to lost
glory and fighting a phantom war that he believes is still raging?

Jack Morrison believed that the fall of Overwatch was a conspiracy. They were hit from the
inside and out. He moved in secret, striking from the shadows, hunting all those that brought
Overwatch down. He didn’t care that people called him a vigilante. The truth was...that he
was just a soldier.
Many said that Soldier: 76's reckless activities, his willingness to put the lives of innocents at
risk, proved that he was not driven by noble intentions. He was just a man acting in his own
interests, another villain in league with the despots and international crime lords who
terrorised communities on a daily basis.

The Morrison of old wouldn't hide behind a mask. He wouldn't plant bombs and steal
weapons while the world suffered through another year of war and heartache. Some
conceded that even if Soldier: 76 was Jack Morrison, the old Morrison was still buried in
Indiana. All that was left was the shadow of the hero they once knew.

The Dorado Leak

Reason: After Vishkar building in Rio

Following her many conquests, Olivia Colomar was supremely confident in her skills, but she
was caught unprepared when she stumbled into the web of a global conspiracy - one that
had also noticed her. With her security irreparably compromised, Olivia was forced to delete
all traces of her identity and went into hiding.
She later reemerged as Sombra, upgraded and determined to find out the truth behind the
conspiracy she had uncovered. Sombra launched an even more audacious string of hacks,
and her exploits earned her no shortage of admirers, including Talon. She joined the
organisation's ranks and was believed to have contributed to its massive cyberattacks
against corporations with strong ties to their governments.

With the conclusion of inspections and final security approvals, November 1st had been
determined as the launch date of the LumériCo nuclear plant. All residents of Dorado and
nearby zones would be automatically transferred to the new system with the fees previously
announced. To commemorate this moment, LumériCo would host an event the same day
with the presence of president Guillermo Portero.

Despite his appearances, Sombra believed Guillermo Portero to be a greedy and corrupt
man, and an abominable thief. His plan of bringing in line the most powerful and biggest
zigurat on the 1st of november was nothing more than a deceit, an elaborate plan by his
gang to become even more influential in Mexico and gain more money.

She had begun upgrading her protocols so that they could be used to take down the
LumeriCo Corp infrastructure and Los Muertos were also trying to fight against the
corruption. In the meantime, she would search the LumeriCo Corp site for information. Upon
hacking the Lumerico website, it read:

Long live the King!

The King Guillermo Portero of LumériCo invites cordially, his loyal servants, to participate in
his crowning event and to celebrate his infinite greed and treason toward the people of
México. We gave coordinated the publication of info that demonstrates that Portero is a
viper, that have for a long time ripoff the riches of our country for his own wealth. He has
corrupted our government, turned our sisters and brothers into beggars, and he won’t stop
until controlling the whole country under his dominance. But we, Los Muertos, won’t tolerate
the celebration of his reign of corruption. We’ll demonstrate to our new conquistadores
(conquerors) who will take the reins of the future of our country! On November 1st, we’ll
dethrone the King Viper and we’ll celebrate the recovery of our home.
Following the news there was many protests against Guillermo and LumeriCo. When
Sombra leaked the emails of Portero, it was indicated that Portero used the company's funds
as his own piggy bank, sending funds through the Dorado Bank account via Monaco - the
base of operations of Talon financier Maximilien. It was also shown that he was personally
involved in bribing public officials and creating a system of kickbacks and payoffs beneficial
to LumériCo. His plan to seize privately held land via government expropriation to expand
LumériCo's facilities throughout Mexico was also revealed.

There were also private conversations with Indian megacorporation Vishkar that explored
the exporting of LumériCo's proprietary energy systems to Vishkar's developments
worldwide. Vishkar itself has recently been the subject of inquiries regarding its business
dealings, particularly in the wake of its newest projects in Rio de Janeiro. Given the amount
of investment Mexico had put into LumériCo, a partially state-sponsored energy company, its
cozy relationship with Vishkar was a cause for concern.

Guillermo denied the accusations, but Los Muertos had come out as a strong supporter of
Sombra and called for the immediate resignation and arrest of Portero and his
co-conspirators. They wished to see the deactivation of LumeriCo’s power plants pending an
independent investigation into the company's governance, and reparations to citizens
affected by LumériCo's policies.

When Lumerico CEO Guillermo Portero announced the completion of the Dorado nuclear
plant it was to be the last link in the company’s long awaited network that promised to deliver
affordable clean energy to the entirety of the country.

“This is a great moment for Mexico. As president, it was my dream to not only repair the
infrastructure destroyed during La Medianoche, but to provide this country with infrastructure
that will make it the envy of the world. Today, that dream is a reality, as I and LumériCo,
have made this. Now we turn our attention to the future, and to others who might benefit
from our country's leadership” - Guillermo Portero

Despite his defiance, Guillermo Portero announced that he would be temporarily stepping
down as CEO of LumeriCo. There had been many protests around the world, with visible
evidence of widespread pro-Sombra graffiti.

Whether the move would appease public opinion that had turned against LumériCo in the
recent weeks remained to be seen. Portero had reiterated that he expected to be fully
exonerated pending the authorities' review of the company's conduct and a continued
investigation into the hacking of LumériCo systems that led to the release of e-mails.

There was also a reported second breach into the LumériCo systems, which had security
insiders concerned that the company's wide-ranging network infrastructure was still
compromised. Similar breaches had been reported around the world including Volskaya
Industries, Russia’s premier anti-omnic security force.

Infiltration of Volskaya Industries

Reason: After Lumerico hacks

Sombra, Widowmaker, and Reaper had been sent to infiltrate Volskaya Industries and
assassinate Katya Volskaya by Vialli. Some members of Talon had become frustrated with
how intractable she had proven to be. Others believed that’s why she had value to them.
She would keep the fight going.

The new guidance system for the Svyatogor that had been developed by Volskaya was
designed to be the difference to destroying the Omnics. Katya was present to ensure that
they were still on schedule as the omnium would not wait for them to be ready for they
attacked again. They were the first new mechs built by Russia in a decade. Katya believed
that they would ensure the future of Russia.
Widowmaker was in position ready to take the shot, but Sombra activated the alarm system
and Katya was taken to safety. Reaper infiltrated the facility, only to be cut off by one of the
Svyatogor mechs. It had become apparent that this was all part of a set up by Sombra to
arrange a “meeting” with Katya. She had learned that Katya Volskaya, “Defender Against the
Omnics”, had actually been getting her tech from them. If the information got out, Katya
would be ruined.

All Sombra wished for was her and Katya to be “friends”, although Katya didn’t have much of
a choice. As Sombra left she informed Reaper that the mission had failed and the three
Talon agents left for their ship.

Sombra had wanted Katya alive, for she had an even bigger secret. There was something
bigger going on that would affect everyone. Everything. Sombra believed that Katya was the
one who would help her get to the bottom of it. Despite Sombra believing the others were
unaware of her antics, Reaper had been keeping tabs on her and he was aware that Sombra
would have preferred Katya alive rather than dead.

Katya summoned Aleksandra Zaryanova to bring Sombra to justice. Zarya believed it didn’t
make sense as she wasn’t a spy, but Katya informed her that she didn’t need a spy. She
needed a friend. She would only trust Zarya to do it.

Battle of Busan
Reason: DVa joined MEKA at 19. Gwishin attacked after Lucio had gone global

As the South Korean omnic continued to adapt, it eventually disrupted MEKA's drone-control
networks, forcing the military to place pilots in the mechs. Scrambling to find suitable
candidates, the government turned to the country's professional gamers, who possessed the
necessary reflexes and instincts to operate the mechs' advanced weapons systems.

By the time she was 16 years old, Hana Song a.k.a. D.Va was already an international star
who had won numerous accolades in the professional gaming scene. Having refined her
extraordinary reflexes and skill while on the circuit, she would go on to win all her
competitions for the next three years running.

Top stars were drafted for MEKA, including reigning world champion Hana Song. Famous
for her elite skills, D.Va was a fierce competitor who played to win at all costs, and she had a
well-earned reputation for showing no mercy to her opponents. The MEKA squad would
operate under Captain Myung.

Seeing her new mission as a game, D.Va fearlessly charged into battle alongside the rest of
her MEKA unit, ready to spring to her nation's defense at a moment's notice. She had begun
to stream combat operations to her adoring fans, and her growing following had turned her
into a global icon.

At just 19 Hana Song had become a national hero, defending Busan from the Gwishin
Omnics alongside her fellow MEKA squad - Casino, D.Mon, King, and Overlord. The team
had taken a few hits but their victory was celebrated across Korea.

Her mechanic, Dae-hyun, was often jealous of Dva’s rise to fame, but Dva found the fame
overrated. She was happy to work on her MEKA and refused to take a break. The team had
barely won the last time they fought the Gwishin and she couldn’t rest when the Omnic was
out there getting stronger. The rest of the squad and her country was counting on her. If she
made a mistake and Gwishin got through then they would lose everything.
The Gwishin had been detected on the radar far too soon and the MEKA squad was caught
off guard. Dva engaged them alone, fighting off and destroying all but one. The MEKA’s
reactor had become unstable and it looked like she was doomed, but she had a plan to use
it in her favour. She would overload the reactor, sacrificing her own mech to destroy the
Omnic and save the city.

Hana emerged from the battle in a critical condition and the city of Busan was still in shock
after the recent surprise attack. Incredibly, thanks to Dva and Dae-hyun, no one was injured.
She had stopped the Gwishin and authorities had later confirmed that she was recovering
and resting.

The Museum Heist

Reason: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/news/20130523 After recall, death of Mondatta,
corporations using cover ops to persuade, gov. Official into exploitive deal, Mei waking,
Lucio pushing out Vishkar, Dva became MEKA pilot

Two former Overwatch agents risked life and limb to stop an attempted Museum Heist
against two frighteningly capable mercenaries, and the theft of Doomfist’s gauntled was
thwarted. Much had been made over the images of sheer mayhem - that, miraculously, did
not result in any deaths.

Two young boys were caught in the middle of the violence. When the attack ended, they
spoke briefly to Lena Oxton, an ex-Overwatch operative known to the public as "Tracer”. The
surveillance footage did not reveal what she said to them. But it did show the expression on
the older boy's face.

investigators had confirmed that a number of violent incidents across the world, including
Monday's attempted museum heist, had involved several notable former Overwatch
operatives. The UN finally admitted that those individuals were not acting on official orders.

"The United Nations has not authorized any Overwatch operations. The organization’s
charter remains revoked."

This news sparked concern. Overwatch was dismantled due to overwhelming negative
public sentiment and allegations of corruption and abuses of power.

But while governments from the Kremlin to Downing Street were quick to issue unreserved
condemnations, the public was not. An Atlas News flash poll taken today showed a large
amount of anger over the possibility that agents of Overwatch had gone "rogue," but it was
the poll's final question that revealed the most interesting reaction. Nearly three out of every
four respondents said they were "uncertain" what Overwatch's return would mean for the
world.
Overwatch's history invited such uncertainty. In wartime, it was regarded as humanity's
savior. After its fall, many were left with bitter memories of its disgraceful ending.

Doomfist’s Breakout
Reason: Takes place after hit on Volskaya since Vialli ordered the attack

The Talon organisation had planned an attack on the Helix Security’s maximum security
installation with the express purpose of freeing one man: Akande Ogundimu. It began in the
early hours of the morning, when an unidentified aircraft approached the facility. Security
initially reported that the craft had no passengers on board, based on radar scans. The craft
passed through the range of the installation's defense systems without incident, leading
some to believe that Talon had moles within Helix.

Video surveillance from within the compound revealed a black shadowy figure emerging
from the craft and descending upon the prison grounds. The unidentified assailant easily
overcame the Helix security agents, leaving over a dozen dead. Medical records of the
casualties reveal injuries and cellular degeneration matching other incidents involving the
mercenary known as the Reaper, all but confirming the incursion as a Talon attack.

Helix officials had been unwilling to reveal whether or not there were additional escapees or
items taken from the facility, but sources had indicated that it was likely that there were
further security breaches in addition to Ogundimu.

Doomfist wished to seek out Maximilien to get a lay of the land. Both he and Reaper
travelled to Monaco to meet up with the rest of Talon. It had seemed that while Doomfist had
been in prison, his plans had been progressing. War between Omnics and humans seemed
all but inevitable.

There were those in Talon that had been pleased to see Akande return, but others had
concerns about whether he would keep the money flowing. Akande simply reminded
Maximilien that they would be dealt with and reminded about their parts. Akande had not
been as popular as he once was and many were happy to see him locked away.
As the two discussed plans, Sombra alerted them to a disturbance. Vialli had sent his men to
deal with Doomfist. Widowmaker and Doomfist dealt with them with ease. Afterwards,
Doomfist decided to pay a visit to Venice to meet his old friend.

Vialli informed Akande that it had never been anything personal between the two of them.
Their disagreement was purely on the course they were to take. The profits they stood to
lose. Things had changed since Doomfist had been away. Vialli believed that his path for
Talon would be for the best.

Doomfist disagreed. Profit was not their concern. They were not criminals, satisfied with
wealth and power. They were better than that. Vialla told him that Talon would be going a
different direction than that, and Doomfist was not to be a part of it. After their discussion,
Vialli would be dead. Doomfist had a war to plan.

Deactivation of OR14
Reason: After Doomfist breakout

After the last Omnic Crisis, the OR14 “Idina” line of security robots had been taken out of
production, along with many of the other models used during the crisis. Twenty years later,
Numbani revived and recommissioned the OR14 program to protect the city from external
threats. These new OR15s were deployed for a short time.
After escaping from the prison facility, Helix had lost track of Ogundimu until he resurfaced in
Numbani. He clashed with the newly introduced OR15 defence robots at the Adawe
International Terminal, easily destroying them and reclaiming the Doomfist.

Questions had been raised about the effectiveness and methodology of Helix,, which in
recent years had greatly increased its profile as the world's security force. But after a number
of high profile incidents, including the breach of a similarly top-secret facility in Egypt, those
who had objected to the increased privatisation of security following the shuttering of
Overwatch would have been dismayed that Helix had requested, and been granted,
additional funding by the UN to cope with rising threats.

Following the attack, the program was scrapped, and the civic government sold off the
remaining OR15 inventory. The Numbani citizens had given up on the OR15s. Some parts
were purchased by eleven-year-old Efi Oladele, a brilliant girl whose early accomplishments
in robotics and artificial intelligence had already earned her the Adawe Foundation's "genius
grant”. She saw the potential in the OR15 and would make them work.
With the approval of her understanding and open-minded parents, Efi spent the bulk of her
grant money to acquire one of the decommissioned OR15 bots. She believed that Numbani
needed a protector and that an upgraded OR15 could do just that. Efi repaired and
reconfigured the robot and installed a personality core that she had designed herself. She
upgraded to programming and gave the robot a heart. She named Numbani's newest hero
Orisa.

Orisa had shown that she can be of service to the city, but she was still working toward
finding her optimal protocols. The omnic's inexperience could cause her to be an occasional
liability. Fortunately, between Efi's willingness to make the necessary modifications and
Orisa's adaptive artificial intelligence, both robot and creator had always been able to set
things right.

As Orisa started her career as a guardian, she had much to learn about the world and her
functionality. But as long as she was guided by Efi's boundless optimism and her own
growing sense of honour and duty, Orisa stood ready to protect Numbani and her creator at
any cost.

Searching for Sombra

Reason: After Orisa was built

Zarya had been to Lijiang, Hanamura, and London without any success in locating Sombra.
Those in Hanamura found her anti-Omnic policies particularly offensive. Katya pointed her
towards a hacker in Numbani, although Zarya despised the city’s love and association for
Omnics.

It would only get worse for Zarya as she realised that hacker she had been sent to find was
an Omnic himself - Lynx Seventeen. When she questioned Katya, she simply reminded
Zarya that sometimes you must work with those you don’t like to fight a common enemy.
Together they tracked down Guillermo Portero, who had been exonerated and reinstated as
CEO of LumeriCo. He could only tell them that he could not provide them any assistance,
although his people were also looking for a solution to the problem.

Zarya preferred her brute force approach to locating Sombra, knocking on every door in
Dorado to find answers. But nobody had seen Sombra. Or nobody would admit to it. After
the help of a girl named Alejandra they finally got scent of her tracks.

Sombra threatened to reveal the secrets of Katya, but Zarya had a secret of her own - she
knew Sombra’s real name. Sombra hacked Lynx back in Numbani, refusing to allow anyone
to track her and get away with it. After the altercation, Zarya was still unsure whether she
failed or succeeded.

Katya admitted that she didn’t think that Zarya would get as far as she did. When Zarya
confronted her, she only replied that she hoped someday that they would understand that
she was doing what she had to do. Zarya believed that friends should never lie to each
other, but for the good of the people of Russia she would keep Katya’s secret safe.

Reunion
Reason: After Heroes and the Anubis AI incident

Abdul Hakim was a king in Cairo in his own right. One who was using his power and
influence to squeeze the life from Cairo, making himself and his followers rich in the process.
The patchwork infrastructure of Cairo was still recovering a decade after Overwatch’s legacy
there.

Helix had locked everything down after the recent incident with the Anubis AI. Ana Amari
had been operating under the alias of “Shrike” and was wanted for espionage, assault, and
theft in Egypt. The world had thought she was dead, just as the world thought Jack was. She
had been causing Hakim and his associates a lot of problems.

The state of her home after Overwatch’s intervention had been one of the reason she was
drawn back. She felt responsible for Overwatch’s legacy there, whether it had been a choice
or not. There had also been lots of crime in Cairo - another part of their legacy.

Jack Morrison had been searching for Ana, but a specter had followed behind him since the
incident in Switzerland...The Reaper. Jack had heard of a bounty hunter in Cairo and he had
hoped it was Ana. Reaper had retrieved part of the Overwatch database and had already
taken a few names off the list. Amari and Morrison would be next.

Hakim had met with Reaper. He was working for Talon, and the rot in Cairo would spread
and ruin the world like it always did. He ran a criminal organisation that the police and the
government either turned a blind eye to or they were being paid off by him. Food supplies
weren’t being distributed to people who needed them. Medical care was almost impossible
to get.

Reaper confronted Jack and Ana had leapt to his aid. She subdued Reaper, wrestling him to
the ground, but when she had stripped of his ghoulish mask and saw the ruin of a face
beneath, she recognises Gabriel Reyes. She was left with the revelation that Gabriel and
Jack, two men like brothers to her, were not dead.

Soldier had been wounded by Reyes - his flesh had turned necrotic and black where the
blast struck. His wounds could heal themselves - a legacy of his past as a test subject for the
Soldier Enhancement Program - but this one refused.

Jack struggled through the narrow streets and Ana carried him down the alley, placing him
on an old military surplus cot with a threadbare blanket. When Jack woke, Ama suggested
taking him to Angela, though the thought of explaining the situation to her would be a hard
one to explain.
Ana had been living in a necropolis ever since she left the hospital in Poland. Jack promised
her that he would take Talon apart, piece by piece. But he couldn’t do it alone. He needed
her help. Ana believed that the way they were doing things mattered. She couldn’t accept his
offer.

While Ana had been away, Soldier had been tracking Reaper’s movements and
appearances - Oasis, Gibraltar, Russia, Numbani, LA. Ana wondered who had been
supplying Jack this information, but that was a puzzle for another time.

Jack had been following a spiderweb of corporations, government officials, and financial
institutions, all hopelessly tangled together through corrupt arteries and shady
intermediaries. Ana considered her options. In her heart she knew she wanted to stay.
Egypt was failing. In a few more year, it was likely that it would fall into chaos, torn apart by
profiteers and criminals like Hakim. As the bounty hunter Shrike, she had slowly been
making a difference, little by little. If she left, all her work would be undone.
But there were others in the city. People like Fareeha. They weren’t helpless. It didn’t have
to be her. She looked through the articles on Soldier: 76 and saw that a local girl from
Dorado had called him a hero. Ana knew what she needed to do. She walked over to the
makeshift shelf that held the treasures she’d found in the necropolis when she’d first arrived.
She looked at the feline face on the ancient mask. It was the goddess Bastet. A guardian.

Jack had been on the hunt for some time now, gathering information, and tracking what
leads he had. He’d had the benefit of being unnoticed, but things had changed. There was
no doubt that Talon and its allies knew he was coming for them. He was uneasy now.
Staying in one place for too long was risky, especially now that Gabe would be looking for
him. He had to move on.

When Jack returned to necropolis he told Ana that he would help her capture Hakim, but
once it was done they would go after Reaper. Ana would only accept if they started at the
bottom and work their way up. Close the net around Hakim and starve him of his resources
to force him out into the open.

Ever since the fight at his palace, Hakim had been unwilling to return, instead moving
between his safehouses in the city. Jack had been able to track down a number of them and
found the one that was most conducive to their plans. Within a week, they’d rounded up a
number of Hakim’s associates, whittling away at his organisation. Word spread about
someone targeting Hakim’s organisation. Whoever it was, people agreed, they meant to
bring Hakim to justice.
But after the initial burst, things had slowed down. Hakim went further underground. He was
being more careful. There was nothing to do but wait. Ana and Jack reminisced about the
old times. How a normal life was never the reward for people like them. They could never put
anything over their duty.

Hakim had finally shown his face, and the two got ready for action. Ana brought her Bastet
mask, telling Jack that Soldier: 76 had been more than a vigilante. The world knew the
name. His enemies were afraid he’d find them. She didn’t want Hakim, Talon, or anyone else
to plunge Cairo back into chaos the second he was gone. So she put on a new mask. Not as
a hunter this time, but as a protector.

One week later, Ana and Jack were packing up the necropolis base. They’d leave much of
Ana’s belongings behind, taking only what they needed for the journey ahead. Hakim and his
network of criminals had been dismantled. The news had started to report about the
movements of a guardian named Bastet who had captured Hakim and exposed the extent of
his crimes. Even the government was forced to act.

Before they left, Ana left Fareeha a message. Ana made it clear to Jack that she was not
convinced that this was a good idea at all. Talon, Overwatch, Gabriel… She had already let
go of them. It hurt.

They left the necropolis, sealing the entrance behind them, and they made their way to
Angela who was understandably in a great amount of shock. Long after they’d left, the relics
of ancient civilisations laid in wait in the darkness of that dusty room. At the center of them
all was a golden mask bearing the face of a goddess. Just as it remained in the hearts of the
people of Cairo, and the fears of those who would harm them: a mask and a name.
McCree Finds Echo
Reason: Unsure, Making his way north from Dorado after christmas. Newspapers on Castillo
suggest that Dorado leaks and Volskaya attacjk had already happened

McCree sought vigilante justice in the post-Overwatch world. He had resurfaced as a

gunslinger for hire. But while McCree's talents were sought after by parties great and small,
he fought only for causes he believed were just. He came across some Talon operatives
attempting to board a train, noting that they were using the Blackwatch playbook. He was
aware crews like this often didn’t take any prisoners, but if he showed his face then the
blame would be put on him.

He swiftly dealt with the first group and learnt that they were after something expensive in
the cargo hold. Rather than it being a risk to him, McCree kicked the object off the train to
get the backup of their backs. Now he could get to Houston in peace. The police blamed
McCree for the robbery. As a fugitive wanted for murder, theft, and all sorts of other crimes
he figured they would.

The Deadlock Gang intercepted the train as it passed over Route 66, tipped off by Jesse
McCree about the potential heist They had worked hard for the score and told McCree to
move along, but all he wanted was the contents of a particular crate. He would be happy to
hand everything else over to his old gang.

Ashe was curious as to what was inside the container, but McCree told her it was none of
her business. The Deadlock Gang prepared for a showdown with their former associate. Bob
had been upgraded with a gun since McCree had last seen him and McCree was locked
down behind cover. He used some of the grenades the Deadlock Gang had secured to his
advantage, overcoming Ashe and the rest of the gang.

Jesse unloaded the crate, revealing Echo. He informed her that Winston had been trying to
contact other Overwatch agents and that they would need her to help them. But McCree
wasn’t ready to return himself yet. He had some of his own business that he needed to
attend to. He headed off on Ashe’s motorbike, leaving Echo to make her way to Winston her
own way.
