Procedure:

Teacher will open discussion about nutrition and ideas about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Students will be invited to share their thoughts about what constitutes proper nutrition. Students will
provide examples of different foods that are perceived to have nutritional value and benefit, and also
those that are not. Students, in groups, will research each of the 7 classes of nutrients and then present
them to the class.

Research a nutrient your body needs:

1. Carbohydrates
2. Fats
3. Proteins
4. Vitamins
5. Minerals
6. Water

Questions:

1. What is it?
2. Why do we need it?
3. How can it be bad for our body?
4. What are examples and how can we get it in our body?
