1. Recount Text
Recount text is a kinds text with the purpose to tellhappening or action that
happened in the past
Recount is often used in diary, personal letter, history, biography, police report
and experience.
2. Generic structure
a. Orientetion : Introducing the participants, place and time
b. Events : Describing series of event that happened in the past
c. Reorientation : It is optional. Stating personal comment of the writer
to the story
3. Language Feature of Recount Text
a. Introducing personal participant; I, my group, etc
b. Using chronological connection; then, first, etc
c. Using linking verb; was, were, saw, heard, etc
d. Using action verb; look, go, change, etc
e. Using simple past tense
4. The Type of Recount Text
Diary, experience, incident report, letter, journal, police report.

F. Learning Material
My First Marathon Experience
Last year I joined the Borobudur Marathon. I had to run 10 km to complete it.
It is hard but I learned valuble things from joining it.
At first, I just wanted to get experience of joining a marathon. I thought it
would be one. I was interested to complete at least one more marathon and improve
my time. I also experienced a good feeling between participants and the spectators,
that made me happy. It was a very wonderful thing for me. So I decided that I had to
join another marathon the following year, because I was not satisfied with first one.

My Football Experience
When I was junior high school, I really loved football. Every Saturday
afternoon I practiced in school field with my team and my coach. They were strong
and smart players. My coach, grounded anyone who come late and not obeyed the
team’s rules.
With Mr. Sentana, our team won many our tournament in my big cities. Our
team named after our school, 67 Team (from SMP 67) and we had many fans too, you
know. Ohh, that was so cool. Now, I still love football and have a team too. But, my
parents warn me to pay attention more to my study, football just for hobby.
