(3) Explain in detail the functional block diagram of generalized
instrumentation system with its functional elements(Refer RMS &
Murthy).
(4) Classify the transducers in detail with suitable examples(A K Sawhney).
(5) Define the” Transducer” and describe the basic requirements of the
transducers(R M S).
(6) Explain the advantages of electrical transducers over mechanical
transducers(A K S & R M S).

CHAPTER II : STRAIN GAUGE AND STRAIN

MEASURMENT:
(1) Define the “Strain” and derive the equation Gauge factor(F) =1+2µ for
electrical resistance strain gauge(R M S).
(2) List out the different strain gauge circuits and derive the equation of
output voltage for full bridge strain gauge circuit( D S Kumar & A K S).
(3) What is “Dummy guage”? Explain how dummy gauge is used for
temperature variation compensation ( A K S).
(4) Explain how strain gauge is used for measurement of shaft torque(A K S
& R K Jain) . (See other applications of
strain gauge).
(5) Compare among wire type, foil type & semiconductor type strain
gauges(J P Holman & R M S).
