BOARD RESOLUTION NO. SCB-07-100215

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION FOR THE
RENOVATION OF THE BACKSTAGE AND IMPROVEMENT OF AUDIO AND VISUAL
FACILITIES OF THE FINSTER AUDITORIUM

WHEREAS, Article 6 Section 3E in the 1982 SAMAHAN Constitution states that the SAMAHAN
Central Board has the power and responsibility to formulate policies and take action in any issues
that may directly and indirectly affect the welfare of the students on or off campus;

WHEREAS, the SAMAHAN Central Board believes that the university should provide quality and
well maintained facilities to be used for the overall academic and non-academic experience of the
studentry;

WHEREAS, the SAMAHAN Central Board sees that the activity areas in the University should be
provided with safe and well-maintained facilities to hold different university activities;

WHEREAS, Student Services enumerated in the Ateneo de Davao University Student Handbook
2015 Edition includes the Physical Plant Office and its duty as the in charge of safety, security,
maintenance, sanitation, waste management of school halls, buildings, grounds, and facilities in
various campuses of the Ateneo de Davao University … Services offered include locker rentals,
room utilization, and use of motor vehicles;

WHEREAS, the SAMAHAN Central Board, through the recommendation of SAMAHAN

Productions, would like to address the concerns of the students regarding the facilities provided
by the Physical Plant Office as enumerated below:
a) The repair of Finster Auditorium backstage and the stage floor, specifically the floor
tiles;
b) The acquisition of an LCD Projector and a new widescreen;
c) The purchase of new facilities to replace damaged ones, such as lights, active driver
units, wired and wireless microphones and digital mixing board for the Finster
Auditorium and for general use;

BOARD RESOLUTION

WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the SAMAHAN Central Board calls for a meeting together
with the Director and officers-in-charge of the Physical Plant Office to discuss intensively the
following concerns. The date and time of the said meeting should be agreed by both parties;

WHEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the SAMAHAN Central Board shall follow up
with the concerned offices as to the possibility of the aforementioned requests;

WHEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be approved by a majority vote

of the Board;

WHEREFORE, BE IT FINALY RESOLVED, that this resolution shall take effect immediately upon
approval by a majority of the members of the Board.
