RAM and ROM
There is one major difference between a ROM (read-only memory) and a RAM
(random-access memory) chip: ROM can hold data without power and RAM cannot.
Essentially, ROM is meant for permanent storage, and RAM is for temporary storage.
RAM (pronounced ram) is an acronym for random access memory, a type of computer
memory that can be accessed randomly; that is, and any byte of memory can be accessed
without touching the preceding bytes. RAM is found in servers, PCs, tablets,
