Subject : BAYAD CENTER SAPAT DAPAT QUIZ BEE COMPETITION

Date : February 8, 2019

1. The BAYAD CENTER “SAPAT DAPAT” Comprehensive Schools Program (CSP) in


partnership with MARYLINDBERT INTERNATIONAL and the DEPARTMENT OF
EDUCATION will conduct the BAYAD CENTER SAPAT DAPAT Quiz Bee Competition on
March 6, 2019 at Guadalupe Elementary School Mini Cultural Center, Cebu City

2. This special event is sponsored by BAYAD CENTER a subsidiary of MERALCO. It is an


offshoot of a series of demonstration lessons on Financial Literacy, making it as Laboratory
of Life for Students in Mathematics, Economics and Values Education.

3. The Competition shall be composed of three (3) rounds namely:

4. Participants will be limited to Junior and Senior High School Students.

5. All participating schools in the 1st Round Competition will prepare a 50-item test on
Financial Literacy. Student Garnering the highest score shall represent the school (one
representative per school).

6. The school must submit the details of their representative/contestant to the Schools
Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) following the attached entry format for the
Division Level Elimination.

7. The school to compete in the Regional Level (Finals) will be submitted by the Division
Office to Marylindbert Int’l. via email to contest.marylindbertintl@ marylindbertintl.com or
jerome.arcega@ marylindbertintl.com .

8. Students who will not make it to the Regional Level will receive prizes in kind.

9. School Heads are reminded to observe the No Teacher Less Classroom Program
(NTLCP) in adherence to DepED Order No. 9 S. 2005 INSTITUTING MEASURES TO
INCREASE ENGAGED TIME-ON-TASK AND ENSURING COMPLIANCE THEREWITH
so that no classes will be left unattended.

10. Immediate and wide dissemination of the memorandum is desired.

Mechanics of the Quiz Bee Competition:

1.The SAPAT DAPAT Quiz Bee is divided into three (3) rounds: the EASY, AVERAGE and
DIFFICULT which is composed of ten (10 questions each)

 The contestants should be at the place of the competition thirty (30) minutes before the
scheduled time. Immediate disqualification will be implemented to those contestants who
failed to show up ten (10) minutes after the supposed start of the Quiz Bee.

 Clarification regarding the rules of the competition shall be entertained by the Committee
before the start of the contest.

 Each contestant will be provided with a competition number and a white board with a
board marker and eraser.

 The questions will be read twice by the Quiz Master. When the Quiz-Master says “GO”
only then should the participants start writing on their white board.

 When done, all teams should raise their pens and show their final answer at the signal
“NOW”.

 Every correct answer has a corresponding point:

Easy round -1 point

Average - 3 points

Difficult - 5 points

 Wrong spelling will be considered wrong

 The five (5) contestants with the highest total scores shall be declared:

1st Place

2nd Place

3rd Place

4th Place

5th Place

 Should a tie exist, the match shall go into a SUDDEN DEATH. The first contestant to
answer two (2) questions correctly shall be declared the winner of the tie.

 No questions shall be entertained during the contest proper.

 Misbehavior of an individual contestant during the contest is a sufficient condition for the
team’s disqualification.
