A DROP OF GENEROSITY

The NSS and YRC units of Stella Maris College organized a Blood Donation
Camp on 31st July 2015 from 9 am to 5.30 pm for both Shift 1 and Shift 2 students.
The Camp, which was organized in collaboration with the Madras Voluntary
Blood Bureau, began with Sr. Susan, Secretary, invoking God’s blessings. Dr.
Dinesh of the Indian Red Cross Society, along with his vigilant team, volunteered
for this noble cause.

The stringent procedures adopted, ensured that every donor was hale and hearty
after a first check for their eligibility followed by a mandatory health check-up
after which they were allowed to donate blood. During the first session there were
about 75 students who donated blood. For the second session Royapettah
Government Hospital, came forward to help us in continuing the Blood Donation
Camp for Shift 2 students. There were approximately 91 students who generously
participated in the Camp.

This event was made possible by the hard work of the NSS and YRC Programme
officers, senior volunteers of NSS and YRC units and many second year
volunteers.

The NSS and YRC mottoes of ‘Not me but you’ and ‘Serve one another’ marked
the spirit of the Blood Donation camp .
