ALKAPRINT GN
Unique multifunctional polymer system specifically designed and developed
for pigment printing of textiles.

PRODUCT DISCRIPTION ALKAPRINT GN is a Unique Multifunctional Polymer System, specifically designed

and developed for Pigment Printing of Textiles. ALKAPRINT GN is particularly
suitable for Printing Synthetic Fabrics and their blends with Cotton. ALKAPRINT
GN is an aqueous dispersion of wholly water soluble, Synthetic Acrylic polymer
Product as supplied, has low bulk viscosity, ideal for use in Automatic Colour
Kitchens and other Mechanical Handling Systems. ALKAPRINT GN disperses
readily in water and produces gel free, smooth Mother Stock and Print Pastes,
within very short times. ALKAPRINT GN can be used to prepare Mother Stocks or
the Product can be added directly, to a pre-weighed mixture of water, 0.5% ammonia,
thoroughly mixed and followed by the addition of Binder, Pigment and Auxilliaries.

METHOD OF USE - ALL AQUEOUS SYSTEMS

ALKAPRINT GN can be added to pre-weighed Water containing 0.5% Ammonia

(27-28%), stirred to obtain smooth thickening, within a few miuntes. Followed by
the addition of Binder, Pigment and Auxilliares.

GENERAL RECIPE FOR ELECTROLYTE FREE SYSTEM

Soft Water 85.8 to 85.2 parts
ALKAPRINT GN 1.2 to 1.8 parts
Binder - Electrolyte free 10.0 parts
Pigment - Electrolyte free 3.0 parts
Total (parts by weight) 100.00

Ammonia to pH = 7.5 - 9.0

Print paste viscosity >
– 3300 cps – 12,800

In use, with efficient stirring, ALKAPRINT GN produces optimum viscosities in less

than 5 minutes. However the time required for optimum viscosity might vary according
to stirrer efficiency.

ALKAPRINT GN Print Pastes are stable during use in long screens, long production
runs and air-free storage.

ALKAPRINT GN does not require the addition of, emulsifiers, stabilisers, definition
improves and humectants. ALKAPRINT GN is Multifuntional Polymer System which
performs most of the above mentioned functions.

ALKAPRINT GN can also be used for preparing Mother Stocks with Water (containing
0.5% Ammonia), and Binder.

ALKAPRINT GN is fully compatible with non-gelling Carbon-Black Pigments.

Mother Stocks and Print Pastes stored in air-free containers maintain their stability
for more than 4 weeks, at Room Temperatures, ideally less than 40 deg. Celsius.

If required, ALKAPRINT GN can be used in Half Emulsion Systems.

CURING OF PRINTS (FIXATION)

Prints can be cured / fixed (polymerisation) using dry heat in the normal way, with
residence time of 3 - 5 minutes at 150 deg. or 3 - 4 minutes at 160°C
