TEACHER TUBE

Video 1:

Curriculum framework content name: Kindergarten

Curriculum framework content number: RF.K.2.B
Curriculum framework content description: Count, pronounce, blend, and segment syllables in spoken
words
https://www.teachertube.com/video/syllable-rap-54133

Narrative: I plan to use this video in my classroom one day to help teach the concept of syllables. First, I
would play the video. It would take about a minute for the students to watch it and catch on to what it is
doing but, when they do, I will have them stand up and start kicking like a ninja to the beat. After that,
they will start clapping to split the syllables, just like in the video. After the whole video is over, this will
lead right into an assignment. Without using the video, I will say a word and have them clap to split it
up. This will progress to harder words over time. The video and activity is just an introduction to the
concept.

Video 2:

Curriculum framework content name: Kindergarten

Curriculum framework content number: AR.Math.Content.K.G.A.2
Curriculum framework content description: Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or
overall size Note: Orientation refers to the way the shape is turned (upside down, sideways).

Narrative: I would use this video in my classroom probably every day, until it is engraved in my student’s
head. I could play it during snack time so the kids have something to watch for a few minutes. Even
though they should know their shapes by kinder, not every kid knows how many sides they have, or
what they are called. This will be a part of a daily routine. Eventually the kids will be tested on their
shapes, including the 3d ones, so this is a great introduction.
