NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA NEW DELHI The following guideline is only for those who has received a call letter for appearing in the preliminary interview for admission to three year diploma course in Dramatics in the National School of Drama, New Dethi. The interview will have the following sections:~ 1. Written test 2. Practical Test 3. Analytical capacity Test 1. Written Test: This is to test the student’s critical aptitude and power of expression in Hindi and in English. 2. Practical Test: 4) One dramatic and one poetry passage to be prepared and enacted. This is to be chosen from among the passages provided. b) One dramatic passage of his/her choice to be enacted in any language. ©) Ability sing/play instrument and to dance/movement/yoga. 4) Ability to draw, paint, design to test visual aptitude. ©) Ability to express directorial ideas & aptitude: £) Direction specializaton applicants need to do a 5 minutes video presentation of a play directed by hinvher. 3. Oral Test: This is to te a) General Knowledge regarding theatre and other performing arts. b) The candidate’s ideas and the capacity to express them. c) Understanding & Analysis from among the list of plays provided. The candidates should be prepared to discuss any two plays mentioned in the list enclosed. ‘The students may bring visual material of any painterly, sculptural or design work they have done. They are also advised to bring their published creative or critical writing on Theatre/Art/Music etc. if any.
