Top 10 vampire films of all time.

Vampire’s films have always a special place in the film industry. Vampire movies
maybe comedy or a complete thriller has its audience which encourages more
directors to make such films. There have been many creepy vampire films and
when you see them you just not want to be alone in your house again; who knows
who’s waiting for you in the next room. Below is the Top 10 list of creepy vampire
movies of all time that don’t let you to have SWEERT DREAMS.

10. Van Helsing

Van Helsing film is an important film in terms of continuing the vampire tradition
in the films alive, in modern films. There was and perhaps always will be
importance of vampire’s movies in world cinema. In this film, the character Van
has been deployed for a mission to save the world from evil forces. But, he has a
past that he cannot recall. He gains the stature of a ‘killer’ of evils due to his efforts
of saving the world. When he goes to Transylvania he meets Count Dracula, a
vampire as we all know, and it is the job of Van to kill Count Dracula in the film.
There have been many myths that were believed such as vampires heals fast or
they don’t see their reflections and all that, but this movie is a combination of
many myths that you may want to believe and this is what makes this film very
creepy.

9. Vamp

The film was released in 1986, when people had many misconceptions about
vampires and still are. In this film, a couple of college teens set out to enjoy their
life in the cities dark nights. Here they go to a club, where they meet the vampire
of the movie Grace Jones. And as usual the vampires do their mysterious job in the
film and the college teens have to pay the price for it.
The movie came into an age when the movie like ‘The Satanic Rites of Dracula’
was a hit about 13 years ago. The myths like vampires drinking human blood,
vampires scared of garlic had found its place in the society. The film had its
audience and its share of vampire success.

8. John Carpenter’s Vampires

The film dates back to the year of 1998 when the film like Vamp (Film no. 9 in our
list) was a success. In this film, there are the usual creepy looking vampires who
come outside at night. But, we also have our hero in the film. His name is Jack
Crow. He his set put to slay those creepy vampires. Jack and his team destroys a
vampire’s residence in Mexico. As they are celebrating their victory, they are
attacked by the 600 yrs old vampire, Valek. Valek wants the power of surviving in
the daylight as is set out to reach his goal. The myths like vampires burned in
sunlight is shown in the film. The vampires get rashes or burns in day appeals to
the audience of the film.

7. Vampire Lesbos

In this film there is a lawyer, Linda, who works in Istanbul. At night, she has
nightmares where she sees a vampire in her dreams. The vampire harasses her in
her dreams and she just cannot do anything. A case leads her to travel to island
near Turkey. Here she confronts her nightmare, not in dreams but in reality.

The film was creepy but fails to entertain the vampire loving audience. The film
was released in 1970 and was able to do average business which was good for a
vampire movie to do in those days.

6. Underworld

The film of vampires in the early 21st century were doing great and one of the
movies to do so was ‘Underworld’ released in 2003.
In this film, there are two vicious tribes of vampires living underground. These two
tribes of vampires are not known to the world. They have grown in ages and have
many powers. Each tribe has its powers which can be fatal for the human race.
Selene, is a vampire slayer. He has a secret that now can be fatal of these two tribes
of vampires. He has a plan to develop a tribe of species that has the power of both
the vampire tribes together.

The movie Underworld, directed by Len Wiseman had a sort of different yet
appealing story of yet another vampire film.

5. Rabid

This movie is different from the other movies in our list solely because the movie
clearly depicts the birth or the rise of a vampire from a human. Many of us have
this question in our minds when talking about vampires; do vampires take birth
from humans? Well, I don’t know the answer of that but this movie gives you the
glimpse that it might be that humans are transformed into this creepy stuff.

This movie was directed by David Cronenberg and was released in 1977. In this
film our main actress as listed is not a vampire by birth. She is a normal human at
first and when she meets with an unfortunate accident, she notices strange things
growing on her body. The changes are very much felt by her. And like many other
vampires, she develops a thirst of human blood to survive and this tells us that she
has been transformed into a vampire. The vampire then attracts people and drinks
their blood in the film. Rabid was a film that shows the beginning of a vampire’s
life in the film.

4. Brides name Dracula

This 1960 release film casts a teacher who helps a young man from various
shackles. In doing so, she opens an opportunity of horrors for her. The horrors of
the undead including those of her schools. But Dr. Dan Helsing helps her to get rid
of her. This film was released in 1960 when people used to believe that vampires
do exist and there was some kind of fear in their minds.
The myths such as vampires have amazing strength or they are extremely fast as
depicted in many movies including the ‘Twilight’ series were very much believed
and was the main strength of this film.

3. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

You are probably a fan of D. well let me tell you I am one too. He is the super
savior of mankind right from the early ages to now. This Vampire Hunter D film
illustrates us that once night ruled vampires have been significantly reduced. And
what is the reason? It is D.

Vampire Hunter D is a child of a human mother and a vampire father. When a girl
is taken from her home by a vampire, D is hired by her father to save her. Markus
brothers, also the vampire hunters, help D in this mission. The vampire is played
by Meier Link in the film. The D’s presence in this film attracted a lot of audience
and a good direction from director Yoshiaki Kawajiri adds the horror part of it and
makes the film creepy in this list.

2. Dracula’s Daughter

If you are fan of D, then you must also be a fan of Prof. Van Helsing. In this film
Prof. Van Helsing kills the vampire Count Dracula and the police charge him with
murder charges. Dr. Jeffery Garth is willing to act as an attorney to defend Van but
he has his own problems when the Countess Marys wants his help.

She wants to be released from the desire of drinking blood all the time. She steals
the corpse of Count Dracula and burns it ritually. But she just couldn’t ignore the
lust. This vampire family drama has various dramatic as well as scary scenes that
thrill the audiences. The combination of Prof. Van Helsing, Count Dracula and her
daughter Countess Marys makes it interesting for the audience especially if you are
a fan of the character Van Helsing

1. The Return of the Vampire


This film is geeky, creepy, full of drama and filled with human emotions. There is
a reason that why this film is number 1 in this list. The film is based in the year
1918. This was the period of World War. The important part of this film is that it
not only accounts the year 1918 but also the war in that period of time and
everything is well depicted in this film.

The film story is based on an English Family who are scared of a vampire. They
soon learn how to deal with him. When they have finished dealing with him, the
bombs of the war frees him again. He reclaims the soul of his wolf man ex-servant.
He then assumes the identity of the scientist who had just escaped from a
concentration camp. And the family has to again deal with him.

The film was released in 1944 and was directed by the director Lew Landers. In
the age where people used to be scared of vampires and didn’t know much about
their existence, this film not only entertained people with its good story but also
touched the human fear and their feelings. Thus the whole ‘emotions pack’ in one
film makes this film number 1 in this list.
