The proverb, ‘make hay while the sun shines’ is generally used to mean that ‘it is very necessary

to make
the best of whatever opportunity comes in our way.’ We should always be alert, in mind and body, to
reap the benefits of an opportunity. It is very difficult to prepare hay during rainy and foggy days.
Therefore, a wise farmer prepares hay crops during fine weather conditions. He understands that the
climatic conditions favorable for making not continue forever. For this reason, he tries to avail himself of
the opportunity for making hay crops during sunny days. The proverb warn people that if they
procrastinates and do not avail of the good opportunities, then they may find themselves in a situation
when the opportunity has lapsed. Future is uncertain. The few opportunities that people get in their life
have limited validity with regard to time. Hence, good opportunities should be acted upon immediately
when they are found. The world has become an intensely competitive place. People should not ignore
opportunities and wait for next. The meaning of this proverb is that if there is a task that needs to be
done then it must be done while you still have a chance to do it. Advantage of favorable circumstances,
which may not last indefinitely, must be taken. School children postpone studying during normal school
days and when the exams rear their head on them, they are left worried and tense because they haven’t
finished studying. On the other hand the handful students who study regularly are cool as cucumbers
when exams are round the corner. They have enough time to revise and they are well prepared for the
exam. Homemakers have a million things to do and no matter how much they try something ends not
getting done. In this case one must keep in mind priority. If you are on your way to pay the bill and the
phone rings and you pick it up to find it’s a friend on the phone what do you do?? Well you tell the friend
you will call her back later and you go pay the bill because if you sit to talk to your friend you might end
at the bill counter when it has closed for the day. The right thing must be done at the right time for it to
be effective otherwise the entire effort is wasted. Life is a competition and one who wins is the one who
makes use of the opportunities. We all would have hear people say that “Opportunity Knocks only once in
Life”. This is quite true. Not all doors are kept open for us to reach on any time. We should rightly act and
get to the doorsteps that we need to reach and make use of the opportunity. In this place comes the old
and famous proverb: “Make Hay While the Sun Shines”. Letting the grass dry by leaving it under the hot
sun will destruct the same. Making most out of an opportunity when it is available to us is the act of a
wise man. We might think it is not necessary that we should hurry when we get the first opportunity.
Waiting for an opportunity to come to us the second time is foolishness. It is good to realize that most
opportunities come only once in life. Like how, “Time and Tide waits for No Man” opportunities do not
wait for anyone. In this busy world, one who makes use of opportunities becomes the bread winner. Here
comes another saying that explains this: ”Early Bird Catches the Worm” – This could be a saying that
also reveals that one who makes use of opportunity on time will catch hold of victory. We should always
remember that there are many people behind us who are waiting to take our place. So before it too late,
we should wake up and work on our tasks. It teaches us to flow with life’s flow, while it favors us and
helps us with opportunities instead of wasting them. It is a good proverb on the value of time. It teaches
us to be proactive, productive and prudent in life.

What you send out comes back. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you. What
happens in life is exactly this. Everything comes back to you. Your life is a reflection of you. What you give
is what you get in everything, whether at work, in what you do to your own body, for your health, wealth,
or in relationships. It is hard to accept that we are the responsible for the results we are getting. We
think we cannot influence the circumstances or the final outcome. But it is all connected. LIFE IS A
BOOMERANG -What you give is what you get! The game of life is like the game of boomerangs, deeds and
words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy”. A boomerang is shaped to rotate and spin
back to the point of its origin. One can view each of our thoughts, words and actions as energy vibrating
in a frequency that ensures we get them back—one way or another. Today we’ll use the boomerang as a
visual tool to gain more awareness into everything we do from intention to action. Think of every
thought, word or action you take as a boomerang that you throw out. How would this boomerang help
you in shaping your reality? Take a look at how this simple tool can serve you.
