Tugas I Kimia Analitik Dasar

1) Sea water contains an average of 1.08 × 103 ppm of Na+ and 270 ppm of SO42–. Calculate the molar
concentrations of Na+ and SO42– given that the average density of sea water is 1.02 g/mL.
2) A solution was prepared by dissolving 5.76 g of KCl·MgCl2·6H20 (277.85 g/mol) in sufficient water
to give 2.000 L. Calculate:
a. the molar concentration of Mg2+, K+ and Cl–.
b. ppm Mg2+, K+ and Cl–.
3) What mass of MgNH4P04 precipitated when 200.0 mL of a 1.000% (w/v) solution of MgCl 2 were
treated with 40.0 mL of 0.1753 M Na3P04 and an excess of NH4+? What was the molarity of the excess
reagent (Na3P04 or MgCI2) after the precipitation was complete?
4) Commercially available concentrated hydrochloric acid is 37.0% w/w HCl. Its density is 1.18 g/mL.
Using this information calculate the molarity of concentrated HCl.
5) A city’s water supply is fluoridated by adding NaF. The desired concentration of F– is 1.6 ppm. How
many milligrams of NaF should be added per gallon of treated water if the water supply already is 0.2
ppm in F–?
1 gallon = 3.78541 L.
