Copy an Angle Bisect an Angle

1. Draw and arc on the angle and on a new line.

2. Measure the arc on the angle and transfer

the measurement onto the construction.

3. Connect the vertex with the intersection.
Construct a Line Parallel to a Given
Line Through a Point

Given

1. Draw any line through the point.

2. Copy the angle.

3. Draw the parallel line.

Incenter and Inscribing a Circle Circumcenter and Circumscribing a Circle

1. Construct an angle bisector. 1. Construct a perpendicular bisector.

2. Construct a second angle bisector. They meet

at the incenter.

2. Construct a second perpendicular bisector.

They meet at the circumcenter.

3. Construct a perpendicular from the incenter to

a side.

3. Place the compass point on the circumcenter

and the pencil tip on a vertex. Draw a circle.

4. Construct a circle centered at the incenter

with a radius defined by the perpendicular.
Constructing a Centroid Constructing an Altitude

1. Extend a side.

1. Find the midpoint of a side by constructing a

perpendicular bisector.

2. Construct a perpendicular from the vertex.

2. Construct a median by connecting the

midpoint to the vertex opposite it.

3. Find the midpoint of a second side and

construct a second median.
