Vancouver & British Columbia
British Columbia is a province situated on the west coast of Canada. The province is often called
“Beautiful British Columbia” and is a very popular tourist location. The capital of British Columbia
is Victoria, and its largest city is Vancouver.
Vancouver has been ranked as one of the best cities in the world to live in.
Indeed, the ecological state of the city is excellent, it seems like a city could not have more parks
and trees, and the climate and landscapes of British Columbia and Vancouver encourage outdoor
recreation and tourism. Vancouver is one of not many cities in the world where one can ski in the
mountains, swim in the ocean, skydive, go for a bike ride around the park, and attend a concert, all
on the same day.
Spring and Summer in Vancouver
In the Summer time, the beachs and parks are
so full of people. The weather is the best one,
being around 17˚C to 33˚C in June, July and
August.
The most popular places to visit in that time
are:
- Biking on the Stanley Park and seawall
- Rest and enjoy the Kitsilano Beach
- Go shopping on the Robson Street
- Watch the sunrise at English Bay
- Grouse Mountain hikking and see the bears
- A lot of parks to hikking
- Lynn Cannyon and Capilano suspension
bridegs
- The beautiful trip to Victoria
- Go to Granville Island using the Aquabus
- Visit the amazing Aquarium at Stanley Park
- Check the habbits living at Jericho
- So much ore fun!!!!
Fall and Winter in Vancouver
It is the time we don’t have to worry about
because we can have so much more fun on the
fall and winter in Vancouver!
The weather is so nice, compared to the rest of
Canada, being maximum 7˚C and minimum -6˚C
as a cold day.
Even it’s cold for you, Vancouver has a perfect
structure for the winter time, so you can feel
the heat on the transit (bus, subway, train), on
the stores and at home.
Vancity has a lot of fun activities for this time:
- Skiing and snowboarding at Grouse, or
Seymour or Cypress Mountain.
- Visiting and have a lot of fun at Whistler
- Ice skating at Robson Square
- Drink hot chocolate at Tim Hortons
- Carving pumpkin in October
- Visit the wineries around Vancouver
- Fantastic trip to Rocky Mountains
- And so much more fun!!!
Vancouver, the
Hollywood North
Vancouver has been used as a filmmaking
location for over a century.
Isolated by distance from the domestic film
production communities in Toronto and
Montreal, it became known as "Hollywood
North" for its role as a production centre for
US feature films shot in British Columbia.
The provincial government first established a
film development office in 1977 to market the
province to the Hollywood community.
In 2000, BC crossed the billion-dollar mark in
production for the first time, and in 2002, 75%
of all Canadian foreign productions were
based in British Columbia and Ontario.
Today we have in B.C. more than 86% of the
Hollywood productions bringing revenue to
Canada.
