    End of Life:
    Microsoft support has two phases- Mainstream and Extended support.

    Each phase has 5 yrs of total 10 yrs.

    In Mainstream support, MS provides feature patches/updates , technical support and security hotfixes.

    In Extended support, MS no longer provides feature patches/updates and provides only technical
    support and security hotfixes.

    Finally, once a product reaches end of extended support, MS no longer provide technical support or
    hotfixes.
