1. Draw the three views of a hexagonal headed bolt of nominal diameter 25 mm and length 100 mm;
with a hexagonal nut. Consider side of the hexagon is 50 mm.
2. Sketch the various forms of set screw ends of size 10 mm diameter.
3. Draw the following thread profiles for a nominal diameter of 25 mm and pitch 30 mm
a) Square thread b) ACME threads c) V shape thread
4. Draw to scale 1:1,the standard profile of a METRIC SCREW THREAD (EXTRENAL) take an
enlarged pitch = 50 mm. Give all the standard Dimensions.
5. Sketch a double start square thread of pitch 5 mm and nominal diameter 50 mm.
6. Draw the key with gib head diameter of shaft is 40mm. Consider following data to draw
the key with gib head
If D is the diameter of the shaft, then,
Width of key, W = 0.25 D + 2 mm
Thickness of key, T = 0.67 W (at the thicker end)
Standard taper = 1:100
Height of head, H = 1.75 T
Width of head, B = 1.5 T
7. Draw the spilned shaft and hub of nominal diameter is 20mm. Choose Proportions for

8. Draw the sectional view from the front and view from the side of a cotter joint with sleeve used to
connect two rods of 50 mm diameter each.

a cotter joint with socket and spigot ends to connect two rods of 50mm diameter each.
10. Draw the knuckle joint with diameter 30mm.
11. Giving proportionate dimensions, sketch any four forms of commonly used rivet heads,
choosing the rivet diameter as 10mm.
12. Two steel plates, each 12 mm thick are joined by a single riveted lap joint. Draw two views of
full size.

In a single strap butt joint, the thickness of the strap (cover plate) is given by, t1 = 1.125t

marine engines to connect two shafts, each of diameter 60 mm.

pin type of flanged coupling, connect two shafts of 50mm diameter each.

30 mm.
