INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHARTING YOUR TRANSLATED SCRIPTURE PASSAGES FOR THE NON-NARRATIVE WORKSHOP:
1) Rename this file, replacing the blank line with the name of your language. Put your language name in the cell at the top of the second column in the chart
below, next to ‘Luke 6:17-36’ and similarly at the top of the Titus chart.
2) Replace the titles and verses or parts of verses in each cell of the second column with the title and the same verses or parts of verses of translated text in
your target language.
3) If you have an English back-translation, put the appropriate verses in each cell in the second column of the chart. (This will help the instructor to give you
feedback on your analysis.)
4) Wherever a new paragraph begins in your translation, put a ‘\p’ at that place in your chart.
5) If you have time before the workshop, and you are able to recognize the different verb types in your translation, you may want to color-code the verbs.
REMEMBER that there might be a different verb type in your translation than in the one shown in this file as you receive it—so don’t automatically put the
same colors on the verbs in your translation.
