CIRCULAR
Sub.: Permission for Re-Exam - FAT

Re-FAT exam will be conducted to those who missed to write the FAT due to the following reasons only. The
approved reasons for the conduct of Re-FAT are:
a) Death of father/mother/own brother/sister – Required certificates are death certificate and travel
details
b) Hospitalization (only for in-patient treatment) of the student – Required certificates are a Medical
certificate with detailed investigation report, prescription, bills and discharge summary.

The student can apply using their VTop student login between 28th June and 12th July 2019 to the ‘Re‐
Examinations Committee’ chaired by the Vice‐Chancellor by uploading/submitting an application form,
supported by adequate evidence or proper medical certificate duly authenticated by the Chief Medical Officer
of the University. Such online applications will be scrutinized by the School Dean and then ‘Re‐examinations
Committee’ and the student may be asked to appear before the Committee for presenting the case with all
original documents, if necessary. Any student who fails to apply for Re‐FAT in the prescribed manner will be
deemed to have failed in the course(s) and has to repeat the course(s) by registering again in subsequent
semesters.

For approved students, compulsorily Re‐FAT will be scheduled along with forthcoming Regular arrear exam –
July 2019 and these will be treated as ‘first’ attempt.

If a student fails to write the Re‐FAT, he/ she will not be given another chance to write the Re‐FAT and the
student has to register the course again and clear it. The student will be awarded ‘N’ grade in the course he/she
failed to write. Student permitted for Re‐FAT will be awarded grade as per the class relative ‘grading band’,
without re‐calculating the class average and standard deviation again.
