Welcome to this week’s edition of the Brinsworth Manor
Junior School Newsletter

we want to experience. They make us into the
people we want to be and enable us to live in a
society that cares for one another.
Picture This Project Opening Exhibition
Thank you to the parents and children who
attended the Picture This Opening Exhibition at
Magna on Wednesday. It was lovely to see so many
of you there supporting our school’s wonderful art
display. A big thank you to Miss Strutt, Miss Starling,
Mrs Stead and Mrs Rowbottom for all their hard work
helping to produce the art work with the children
and then installing it at the exhibition at Magna. As
always the end results were outstanding.
Sports Day Friday 28th June
Thank you to everyone who came to our sports day
today. Everyone had a wonderful time competing in a
traditional sports day. Well done to everyone who took
part in the races and to those who won prizes.
Rounders Fixtures
The Under 11 rounders team played Brinsworth Howarth
at home this week. In a hard fought match Brinsworth
Manor won 17.5 to 8.5 Well done to everyone who
played. Next week we ‘take on’ Whiston Worrygoose
away.
Breakfast Club
Following the success of our breakfast club we are
looking to extend the provision into September. Those
parents already using the breakfast club will have
received new contracts to complete. If you are
interested in accessing the breakfast club provision
from September please call into the school office for a
contract.
Library Service Public Consultation
The Public Libraries and Neighbourhood Hubs are
running a public consultation about the future of Library
services. They would like to involve the voices of
pace! in Rotherham within this consultation. A copy
children
of the survey is attached to the newsletter if you and
your child would like to complete it.
The consultation period ends on 14th July 2019 – so
make sure you have your say before then!

Refreshments and souvenirs available! Flyer will be

You will be able to enter using all doors by handing
your entrance fee to the adult on the door. (Please
help us by bringing the correct change 😊) Please
help us to raise money for further creative events.

Late Attendance
Attendance and punctuality have a direct positive
impact on the achievement and attainment of your
child. Missing just 10 minutes of school a day is the
same as missing two weeks over the year. In the
three weeks since half term there have been 66
children who have been late amounting to 1870
minutes late between them.
If you do have difficulties getting your child to school
on time in the morning please contact the Inclusion
team or consider sending your child early to school.
This half term we have been trialling opening our
doors to children from 8.30am. Many of our children
have said that they would like to come into school to
read or settle into the day earlier rather than be out
on the yard.
Attendance
Well done Seahorse Class – 99.5% attendance
Just a reminder that our annual school target from
the local authority is 96.5%. Letters have been sent
to those pupils with 100% attendance and those
whose attendance percentage has dropped.
These letters are a reminder if a child’s
attendance has dropped. It is a statutory
requirement to keep parents informed.
Thank you to those parents who continually
support us. We will soon be awarding all children
with excellent attendance.
