1. INSPECT INDICATOR LIGHT
A343F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION /
TRANSAXLE
a. 4LO Indicator Light:
A750F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION /
TRANSAXLE i. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
CLUTCH
ii. Move the shift lever to N (vehicle is stopped).
G52F MANUAL TRANSMISSION /
TRANSAXLE iii. for 1GR-FE, 1KD-FTV:
R150F MANUAL TRANSMISSION /
Change the transfer position switch from H4 to L4.
TRANSAXLE
RA61F MANUAL TRANSMISSION / iv. for 2TR-FE, 5L-E:
TRANSAXLE
Change the transfer position switch from H4L to L4L.
VF4BM TRANSFER / 4WD / AWD
TRANSFER SYSTEM v. Check the 4LO indicator light.

SYSTEM DIAGRAM 4LO indicator light comes on or 4LO indicator light comes on after blinking.
PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE If the result is not as specified, inspect the switch, 4 wheel drive control ECU and transfer shift actuator assembly.

i. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

TRANSFER CASE FRONT OIL SEAL
ii. for 1GR-FE, 1KD-FTV:
TRANSFER CASE REAR OIL SEAL Change the center differential lock switch from Free to Lock.
TRANSFER ASSEMBLY iii. for 2TR-FE, 5L-E:
CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK Change the transfer position switch from H4F to H4L.

CENTER DIFFERENTIAL LOCK iv. Check the center differential lock indicator light.
