CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

DR. LEANDRO T. OLUBIA

ASSIGNMENT

1. Does the saber tooth curriculum still exist at present?

For me yes, the saber tooth curriculum still exists until now because based on my
observation in our educational system, teachers still give the needs of students,
guide the students to learn new things, develop the skills and manage the
emotions of students, and also teachers teach students on how to do particular
tasks on their own and teacher let them do the things which can help them to
exercise their minds as well as their skills.

2. Describe the kind of curriculum that exists as describe in the article.

In that article I noticed about the different curriculum or techniques used for our
daily life, regarding “how to catch a fish using a net” and “hunting some foods
for their tribe”. Being a teachers/future teachers, we must teach the students on
how to manipulate their cognitions or their skills, we should let them to think and
we should let them do things on their own rather than spoiling them.

3. What does the author mean, when he said “A curriculum should be

timeless”

I think the author means, a curriculum should be timeless, because he wants to

say to the readers everything can change, our daily life maybe can change, and
in term of curriculum or education system can also chance but it is continuously
or timeless because this is the needs of everyone. We need this to enrich and
innovate skills, to manipulate some technology, to be a modern not only
tradional system.
