Itinerary for South Carolina Low Country Trip

Day 1

Drive to Beaufort, SC, arriving before noon. (Approximately 4 ½ hrs.)

Brunch/Lunch (Low Country Produce Market Cafe, Blackstone, Magnolia Bakery Cafe- Th )
Explore the town of Beaufort, SC (Visitor’s Center in old arsenal building for history and info,
Antebellum architecture, Blackbeard landmarks, Baystreet Waterfront swings, Painted Mermaids,
Chocolate Tree)

Explore the Low Country on the Scenic drive to Charleston, stopping on Edisto Island. (About 1 hour
15 min. from Beaufort). Drive through the Tree canopy on Botany Bay and explore the area. Look for
shark’s teeth in the public beach area. Have an early dinner (early bird specials before 5:00 pm @
Whaley’s Or Finn’s Island Grill) From Edisto Island To Charleston is under an hour drive with normal
traffic.

Day 2

Breakfast @ hotel.
Catch hotel shuttle to Charleston’s visitor center to get bearings. Take a walking tour of the area:
Rainbow Row, Battery Waterfront Park, Hugenot Church, Magnolia Cemetery – H.L Hunley Crew,
Charleston City Market (Dinner at Fleet Landing at 6:00.)

Day 3

Explore Isle of Palms, Folly Beach and/or Sullivan Island - Ft. Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island ($2/adults)
Visit Patriot’s Point, if time permits.

Day 4
Early Breakfast. Check out of hotel around 9:30. Take the scenic route home. (Angel Oak on John’s
Island)
