AN A C T MANDATING T H E INTEGRATION O F
FILIPINO-MUSLIM A N D INDIGENOUS PEOPLES
HISTORY, C U L T U R E A N D I D E N T I T Y I NT H E S T U D Y
OF PHILIPPINE HISTORY I N BOTH BASIC
AND HIGHER EDUCATION

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the

Philippines in Congress assembled:

S E C T I O N 1 . Short Title. - T h i s A c t s h a l l b e k n o w n a s t h e
"Integrated History Act o f 2016".

S E C . 2 . Integration of Filipino-Muslim and Indigenous

Peoples History, Culture and Identity Studies in Philippine
History. — W i t h t h e u l t i m a t e o b j e c t i v e o f c r e a t i n g a n i n c l u s i v e
history t h a t accounts for a l l FiUpinos, there isa need t o integrate
the history, culture and identity studies of Fihpino-Muslims and
Indigenous People i n the grand narrative of PhiHppine history.

S E C . 3 . Key Content. - I n t h e f o r m u l a t i o n o f t h e c u r r i c u l u m
for a n inclusive a n d integrative study o f Philippine history.
including the writing, printing andpubUcation o f textbook and
other r e a d i n g m a t e r i a l s relative thereto, t h e agencies concerned
shall consult recognized experts o n Filipino-Muslims a n d
Indigenous Peoples history,cidture and identity.

S E C . 4 . Repealing Clause. - A n y p r o v i s i o n o f l a w o r
regulation inconsistent herewith is hereby repealed,
revoked o r modified accordingly.

5 . Separability Clause. ~ I f a n y p r o v i s i o n o f t h i s A c t
is declared u n c o n s t i t u t i o n a l o r i n o p e r a t i v e , t h e o t h e r p r o v i s i o n s
s h a l l r e m a i n i n force a n d effect.
S E C . 6 . Effectivity. - T h i s A c t s h a l l t a k e e f f e c t fifteen ( 1 5 )
d a y s a f t e r i t s p i i b i i c a t i o n i n t h e Official Gazette o r i n a n e w s p a p e r
of g e n e r a l c i r c u l a t i o n .
