A PROPOSAL ON THE MAKE MATHEMATICS MEANINGFUL (MMM)

I. TITLE OF THE PROJECT PROPOSAL

Make
Mathematics
Meaningful
(MMM)

II. BACKGROUND RATIONALE:

Mathematics is an important subject; its importance cannot be underestimated in the


national curriculum. The usefulness of the subject is evident in all subjects including language
based subjects. Moreover, mathematics is a basic requirement for furthering one’s education.

To respond with the low mathematical performance among pupils in the school as evident
to their Achievement Rate compared to other subjects during school year 2018-2019 (82.27 first
quarter, 86.35 second quarter, 86.37 third quarter and 87.20 fourth quarter) the proponents came
up with this project MMM. This project also aims to increase the level of competitiveness of pupils
during Math contests such as Metrobank-MTAP.

In addition, this will enhance pupil’s interest in learning mathematics since it will be a
project based learning system which will allow the learners to do hands-on activities.
III. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this review the pupils will be able:

1. To develop their own interests and questions and make decisions about how they will
find answers and solve problems.
2. To develop a variety of social skills relating to group work and negotiation.

VI. SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES

A. PLANNING
With the intention to conduct the project during the Brigade Eskwela the pupils
will be assess using the instrument of Project SAMEL as the Pre Assessment. The Post
assessment will be conduct in October before Pupils Semestral Break. The proponents will
give the needed instruments to the class advisers in June S.Y 2019-2020. The
implementation of monitoring and evaluation of the scheduled conduct of project is strictly
monitored.

C. EVALUATION

At the end of the project, the pupils will be assessed through the use of the Project
RACE instrument to be monitored and supervised quarterly by the school head.

The contextualized reading assessment for early grades will be the output of this
project.

Madam:
The school is presently conducting a Continues Improvement Entitled: Localization
Enhancement Achievement Development Project (LEAD).The Project have deeper understanding
of the cultural sensitivity respect for cultural diversity of indigenous people. This project in
compliance in Deped Order No. 62, s. 2011 or National Indegenous People Education (IPED). This
project was conceptualized in order to educate the pupils the proper reading skills. This project
will also help the pupils to used the module during rainy seasons or during the planting seasons
of their parents.
