Artifact Description: Web Launchpad - Making a launchpad using a word processor.

What you learned: This really was the most tedious project I worked on yet. I faced a lot
of issues trying to put together a nice looking launchpad with how little I knew how to
work around my word processor of choice. That being said, I learned a lot of new ways to
add in images and play with the “drawing” feature in Google docs to format this properly,
which gave me favorable results in the end. It was not nearly as easy as I thought it would
be, but it gave me a few new tools under my belt that I definitely appreciate.

National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS)-S Addressed:

Standard#7 Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support
students in achieving their learning goals. Educators:

Standard #7b Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and
summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to
students and inform instruction.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: This would honestly be very useful for the
future where I intend to teach English to non-English speaking students. It would be a
great way to use a launchpad to direct them to the proper websites needed for the lesson
or course as a whole, especially if I planned to work with a younger audience. If I worked
with younger students, the use of images would also help get past the language barrier,
and be a good way to deliver to them needed parts of the curriculum.
