The streets that haunt Filipino women – according to Social Weather Station (SWS)

reported on March 7, 2016 there are 3 in every 5 women were harassed sexually in Quezon

city. Street harassment is also a problem in other part of the world not only here in the

Philippines. To solve this issue, the United Nations Women launched the “Safe Global

Initiative,” a program that aims to protect women against sexual harassment specially in

public places. This program covers 25 cities in the world. In the Philippines, this program is

piloted in Quezon city where it has a population of over 3 Million.
