DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 10 (PHYSICAL EDUCATION)

I. OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:


a. identify the hand movements and positions in Cheerdance;
b. develop self-confidence through Cheerdancing; and
c. execute the hand movements and positions in Cheerdance.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: Hand Movements and Positions in Cheerdance


Reference: Physical Education and Health Learner’s Material page 187,

Instructional Materials: Laptop, projector, speakers, and visual aids.
Values Infused: Develop unity with their classmates in doing an activity.

III. PROCEDURES:

A. Routinely Matters
1. Prayer
Who wants to lead the prayer? Student: Let us all stand.
“Dear Lord…Amen.”

2. Greetings
A pleasant morning class. Students: Pleasant morning Teacher Ja.

3. Checking of attendance
Who is absent today? Students: None ma’am.

4. Setting of Agreement
What will you do if your teacher is talking here
in front? Student: Listen attentively ma’am.
How about if you want to answer or ask
questions? Student: Raise our right hand ma’am.
Very good. So do not answer in chorus.
What about in group activities? Student: Cooperate and participate ma’am.

B. Motivation
Okay class, I want you to observe this video.
Then I will ask some of you to tell or share in
the class what you have observed in the video
presented. Okay? (Video showing)

Now, who wants to share to the class what you


have observed from the video? (Answers may vary)

C. Presentation
Based on the video presented earlier, What do
you think is our lesson for today? Student: Cheerdance ma’am.
Yes, today we are going to tackle about what is
Cheerdance and the different basic hand
movements and positions.

D. Discussion
In your own words, what is Cheerdance? (Answers may vary)

Everyone please read the text. Students: CHEERDANCE, sometimes


referred to as cheerleading, is a team
physical activity using organized routines for
the purpose of motivating a sports team,
entertaining an audience, or competition.
Now let’s move on to the hand movements and
positions in Cheerdance.

But before that, let’s have a warm up exercise.


Everybody stand. All student stands up.

Who wants to lead the warm up exercise? One student led the warm up exercise.

Just remain standing.

First is Beginning Stance or Clean.


Feet together, hands down by the side of your
body.

Demonstrate the Beginning Stance or Clean. Students performed CLEAN.

Next is Clap. Please read. Students: Hands in blades, at the chin,


elbows in.

Demonstrate the Clap. Students performed CLAP.

Next is Clasp. Students: Hands clasped, at the chin, elbows


in.

Demonstrate the Clasp. Students performed CLASP.

Now next are the High V and Low V. Students: High V: Arms extended up
Everyone please read. forming a “V”, relax the shoulders. Low V:
Arms extended down forming a “V”.

Demonstrate the High V and Low V. Students performed the High V and Low V.

Now, let’s have 4 claps, 4 clasps and high “v”


and low “v”. Students are performing.

Next is the T-Motion and Half T. Students: T-Motion: Both arms extended

ground and bent the elbows, fists into
shoulders.
Demonstrate the T-Motion and Half T also
known as broken “T”. Students are performing.
Next is High Punch. Students: Arms extended straight and
parallel to each other, fist facing in.

Demonstrate the High Punch. Students follow.

Next is Candlestick. Students: Extend both of your arms straight


out in front, hands in fists.

Demonstrate the Candlestick. Students follow.

Okay class, Clean, 4 count for each hand


movements. From “T” Motion to Candlestick.
Ready start. Students are performing.

Very good.

Next is Bow and Arrow. Please read. Students: One arm extended to side with

and the other arm extended in a low “V”.

Demonstrate the Diagonal. It can also be done


from right to left. Students are performing.

Last is hand on hips.

on hips. Always start with your right. Ready
begin. Students are performing.

E. Generalization
Let’s figure it out. On the board, there are list
of the basic hand movements.You need to
perform each of it in eight counts together with
the music. Follow the sequence in the board.

F. Application/Drill
I will group in to three groups. Your activity
today is to perform the basic hand movements
and positions in cheerdance with choreography
and yells. Your performance should be at least
3 minutes and do not exceed to 5 minutes. You
will be given 5 minutes to practice. You will
be graded according to this rubric.

As what I have observed, almost all of you did


a very good job. You performed the basic hand
movements with proper execution and you
danced confidently. I can see it through your
facial expressions and how lively you
performed. Job well done. A Barangay Clap
