NARRATIVE REPORT
TRAINING ON COUNCIL MANAGEMENT
Philippine Red Cross, Tubod, Iligan City
August 26 – 27, 2018

The two- day seminar facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross volunteers were able to:

1. Tell the participants about the mission, purpose, principles and values of the Red Cross Red Crescent
Movement

2. Outline Philippine Red Cross mandate, programs, services, and volunteers’ activities

4. Relate the importance of the inculcation of volunteerisms and youth participation through Red Cross 143
and Red Cross Youth resilience and nation building

5. Point out procedures and activities in developing and managing a Red Cross Youth Council and Red Cross
143 teams

6. Develop school implementation plans for young people and adult volunteer engagements in humanitarian
activities

The facilitators from Iligan Chapter and National Headquarters of Philippine Red Cross comprehensively
discussed the topics through lectures, brain storming, collaborative work and return demonstration. The
participants’ eagerness and enthusiasm to grasp the learning were sustained until the end of the training. In
general, the seminar inculcated the importance of igniting the spirit of volunteerism in stimulating a resilient
community.
