PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Upward Bound Projects Career Fair

CHICO, CALIF., June 25, 2019-- On July 12, 2019 from 9a.m. to 12p.m., The Upward Bound
Program will be holding a Career Fair at CSU Chico, Colusa Hall, Chico, CA. During the event
students will be exposed to many work forces such as the Police Department, Fire Department,
Medical Field, etc. Each career will have a booth of their own and will get time to give a brief
explanation of their field. This event will give our Upward Bound students a better idea of what
they want to do career wise. Upward Bound’s main goal is to prepare students for their future in
going to college, and getting ready for their life after high school.

Upward Bound is a program that takes place on the Chico State campus. It is a six-week
Summer program that allows students with a low-income or first generation college student
background. The program focuses on preparing the students for their upcoming academic year,
and gives them an idea of what college life will be like.

Not only does the program show the students about the college life, but it also allows the
students to develop good study habits, sleeping habits, morning routines, etc. The students will
learn many valuable life lessons that will come in handy later on in their life. Students are also
offered help with filling out their FAFSA application step by step.
