II – Introduction

Sewing your own clothes allows you to have a unique wardrobe. Sewing makes you more
creative, which makes it one of the best benefits of sewing. The other different ways are to sew a
seam, finish a hem, and insert a zipper. And then, there are all the different types of fabric to
work with, all the different patterns to hack up and create with. Getting creative with our
construction techniques and fabric choices means we are engaging our brains in a more creative
thought.
In this light, the implementer embarked on an income generating project as a means of
maintaining and sustaining the program. Most importantly funds were raised for
the procurement of instructional materials. Specifically, high-speed sewing machine and Over-
lock edge sewing machine which is used for the students to enhance more of their sewing skills
and bring out their creativity in making different types of garments.

III – Rationale

The fundamental reason of this project is to produce a sewing machine and printer in the
school and also to help the Grade-10 students in enhancing their skills in sewing. The students of
Sto. Cristo Integrated School have been Struggling from sewing their projects in school. Pouch
making is one of the strategies of the school especially in the TLE department under
Dressmaking to generate income for the purchase of a new sewing machine to be used during
their sewing performance task.

IV – Objectives

1. To develop and enhance skills in drafting, cutting and sewing.


2. To develop creativity among the students
3. To acquire a new Sewing machine and Over-lock edge machine
4. To encourage greater participation among students, parents, teachers and for the
improvement of the school.
5. To provide an opportunity for inculcating among the students the value of work.
V. MECHANICS AND IMPLEMENTATION

A. Procedure

1. Conduct an orientation meeting with the Grade-10 students regarding the income
generating project.
2. Request permit for its approval and implementation in the School Principal
3. Fabric and materials sourcing for the project.
4. Involve the Grade-10 students in choosing the design and color of the fabrics.
5. Draft the patterns of pouch wallet
6. Cut the fabrics.
7. Assemble and sewing the cut patterns.
8. Apply finishing touches on the project.
9. Market the final projects.
10. Produce new sewing machine.
11. Documentation and submission to School Principal.

C. Project Operational Description


In the marketing product, the grade 10 students will maintain their good quality products.
They will sell their finish product in school or in their town. They will sell their finish products
on August - September. Each section records the sales. The income generated is reflected in
Table A.

The implementer embarked on an income generating project to maintain the quality of the
product. It has to be a productive activity. Funds were raised from the proceeds of the projects,
thus the Grade-10 classes were able to buy sewing machine and over-lock edge machine which
enhance the skills of the students.

D. Organizational Management

The project headed by the subject teacher (TLE Teacher) with the support of the parents and
adviser. The cost of the project is shown in Table B. After selling the products, the capital of the
students used for making the pouch wallet will be returned to them.
