Deliver a self-composed informative speech (EN8F-Ig-6)

II- Subject Matter:

C. Content Standard
 The learner demonstrates the understanding of: African literature as a
means of exploring forces that human beings contend with; various
reading styles vis-à-vis purposes of reading; prosodic features that
serve as carriers of meaning; ways by which information may be
organized, related, and delivered orally; and parallel structures and
cohesive devices in presenting information.
D. Performance Standard
 The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering an
informative speech based on a specific topic of interest keeping in
mind the proper and effective use of parallel structures and cohesive
devices and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behaviour.

III- Procedure
A. Phases of Learning:
1. Initial task
 The class will read the informative speech sample. (see attachment)
 It will go by chain.
 1st student sitting in front will read the first sentence and next
sentence will be read by the one sitting next to him, and so on.
2. Group Work
 Each group of 6 will decide of who will be the politician campaigning
his platform to win for the coming elections
 Group 1 should have a President for the National elections
 Group 2 should have a Mayor for the Local elections
 Group 3 should have an SK Chairman for SK elections
 Each group will dramatize a short campaigning period in their
respective area.
 the group will observe the following criteria:
Communication 50%
(Voice, Articulation, Fluency)
Presentation 30%
Teamwork/Member’s participation 20%

IV- Evaluation
Individual task
 Each one will make his/her own short informative speech with his/her
chosen topic.
 Short informative speech should have 50-100 words.
 Deliver after composing such.
 Criteria:

Fluency 20%
Stage Presence 20%
Effectiveness 20%
100%

V- Assignment
 Compose an informative speech.
 Choose from the following topic:
a. Love
b. Marriage
c. Family
d. Education
 Deliver it after.
