Next-Generation R-32 Refrig erant
As the sole worldwide manufacturer of both air conditioning equipment and refrigerants, Daikin is continuously researching
refrigerants as well as new technologies that can reduce energy consumption. Use of refrigerants with a lower impact on Increased Energy Efficiency
global warming is urgently required as climate change has become one of the most critical global issues. Daikin has now
adopted R-32. This next-generation refrigerant does not deplete the ozone layer and has a lower impact on global warming. The potential refrigerating effect of R-32 is 1.5 times that of R-410A.
Thus the piping diameter can be smaller.

COPs of 3.55 to 4.63 Daikin DC Inverter Technologies
The FTKV series achieves COPs of 3.55 to 4.63 thanks to Daikin’s DC Inverter control and next-generation R-32 refrigerant. DC Inverter Control
The FTKV25 achieves a COP of 4.63,13% higher than the conventional FTKS25. The FTKV35 achieves a COP of 3.85,16% DC Inverter is Daikin’s term for an inverter air conditioner equipped with a DC motor. These motors use magnets to generate

powerful neodymium magnets to achieve even greater efficiency. It calls these devices Reluctance DC motors.
New Conventional
Swing Compressor
Rated COP
With its smooth rotation, the swing compressor

also eliminates the leakage of refrigerant gas

during compression. These advantages provide
FTKS25GVMA 4.10 quiet and efficient operation.
The high performance of this Daikin original
technology was recognised in 1997 with the
Swing compressor receipt of an award from the Japan Society for
FTKV35NVM 3.85 the Promotion of the Machine Industry 1. The
3.31 compressor’s reputation for reliability has

grown considerably in the nearly 20 years since
this award was presented.
An air conditioner’s COP (coefficient of performance) indicates Capacity (W) Electromagnet Repelling power
how efficiently the unit uses energy. A higher COP means greater COP =

and of course lower power bills. Embedding high-strength neodymium magnets in the shaft turns the entire
centre of the motor into a powerful magnet. By rapidly switching the poles of
this electromagnet, the Reluctance DC motor is able to produce even
greater speed and power.
Notes: 1. This marked the development of a high-performance swing compressor that was compatible with
alternative fluorocarbons.
2. Daikin’s achievement was recognised by the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan at the 54th
Academic Promotion and Technical Development Awards in 1998.

Less Wasted Energy with Infra red Sensors
Intelligent Eye
Intelligent Eye prevents energy wastage by using its infrared sensors to detect human movement
in a room. If there is no movement for 20 minutes, it automatically adjusts the set temperature by
approximately 2°C. Once Intelligent Eye is turned on, it operates
automatically without any further setting.
This function is available for the FTKV series and FTKC25/35/50/60/71.
