What is your writing strategies? Why do you use it?

What one other strategy apart from those on the

list do you use? Is it dependent on the type of the text you are composing?

In creating a good writing, I usually do segmentation to separate every part of the text. For instance, in a
text, I may have few sections consisting of introduction, method, discussion, and conclusions. Afterward,
I make a list of idea I will write in each section. This list will be the guidance for me in seeking additional
information so that I limit to read literatures which has correlation with what I am going to write.

In my case, because I am an engineering student, I used to write scientific papers which need a good
pattern to make logical understanding be possible. The simple thing to start a good writing is to start with
a situation description or problem description. To get better perspective about the situation or the
problem, I will need a lot of information from several literatures.

Besides, I also need to position myself as the reader. The best way to have a good article is to make sure
that the reader can understand about what I write. Even simple explanation about the term or about n
event can be helpful for the reader though they need to seek in other articles if they want to know it
deeper and more comprehensive.

I believe that the way to compose different type of text will define the way we develop the idea inside the
text. A scientific article and news article are surely has their own characteristics. It will be the same for
promotional book review article which give review about a book and usually try to persuade the potential
reader.
