MOTIVATION:
 The teacher introduces the topic by showing a picture to the class.
Ask: What is this? What can you see in the picture? Who are these people
you recognized from this picture?
 Students are invited to listen to a ‘real-life’ dialogue derived from a You-
tube video in which two persons are having a conversation. (Pronouns are
being used in the conversation)
Ask: What is the dialogue all about? What are they talking about?
 Predicting/Guessing:

PRESENTATION OF THE NEW  Students are asked to make guesses about the purpose of the lesson, e.g.
LESSON: What are we going to talk today? Teacher will present the lesson to the
class. Have the students read the Power Point Presentation (PPT) prepared
by the teacher about the lesson for the day. The teacher will discuss the
lesson thoroughly through question and answer.
 The students will be instructed to work in pairs. Each pair will be given an
option to choose the task that they are comfortable with. The students’
job is to exchange information in order to complete the task.
 Imagine that you are in a virgin forest. It is your first time to have the
chance to go around it. Share to your partner all the things that you
have seen there.
 You join a field trip to the National Park. You are tasked by the teacher
to gather information about the park. Formulate questions to help you
get the information you need about the park.
 You’re camping in a remote area. Tell your partner all the experiences
you and your friends encounter.

Each pair above in the previous activity will be instructed to write a paragraph
summarizing the task they have chosen to work for, including the list of pronouns
they have used in their conversation. A representative of each pair will report the
paragraph to the whole class. Students will be instructed to list the pronouns that
they may hear in the reporting phase. While reporting back, the students listen
carefully and will be instructed to take note of the pronouns mentioned by the
reporter.

B. ACTIVITY  The teacher sets a scene: Students imagine they are a group of friends
visiting Tanauan, Leyte as tourists but they feel lost and need somebody’s
help to continue their sightseeing. Fortunately, they’ve got maps of
Tanauan, Leyte. To save time, they decide to be divided into 3 groups to
ask how directions for three different places of interest;

 Instruct the students to list in a strip of paper the pronouns that they have
heard based in the presentation of each group.
 Have the students label those pronouns listed in a strip of paper to the
type of pronoun it is categorized. (This will be done individually)

Say: Going back to the different tasks and activities given to you about the use of

Class will be divided into 5 groups. Say: Let’s have a game. Let us see whose group
can perform well using the pronouns as their assigned task.
 Group I Come up with a short Role Play using all of the Pronouns that were
discussed. (Decide for the plot of your story including its title)
 Group 2 Come up with a dialogue using all the types of pronouns that were
discussed.
 Group 3 Come up with a ten-line poem using all the types of pronouns that
