Our Father in Heaven When in the glow of a fire burning low
Above us we ask Thee There are moments I recall. For Guidance Back to my mind comes the days far behind May virtue and manhood And the times that hold me over all. Stand strongly amongst us. Though the years fade away and again To thee we give all our thanks. I can stray to paths of a brighter hue. Where the boys' voices ring. The Scout Oath, the Scout Law, Where youth is king and the skies again Their lessons unfolding are blue. To our youth in numbers untold. In My dreams I'm back to Gilwell To the joys and happiness I found. Our Motto, are Good Turn, On those grand weekends with my dear May we live it and teach it, old friends and see the training ground. Great Spirit of Scouting we pray. Oh the grass is greener back in Gilwell and I breathe again that Scouting air. While in memory I see B.P. Who never will be far from there.
CAMPFIRE SONG ON MY HONOR
Draw close to a circle tonight On my honor, I'll do my best
The west is still rosy with light To do my duty to God. Lets all join in singing On my honor, I'll do my best Sets all songs a ringing To serve my country as I may. We sing while the campfire is bright On my honor, I'll do my best The daylight is fading away To do a good turn each day. The white birches whispher To keep my body strengthened And pray And Keep my mind awakened The night birds are calling To follow paths of righteousness The pine trees are sighing On my honor, I'll do my best The campfire is turning COMMITMENT SONG SCOUT VESPER SONG
I'll give my hand Softly falls the light of day
To those who cannot see, The sunrise or the falling rain. As our campfire fades away;
I'll sing my song Silently each Scout should ask
To cher the weary along, For I may never pass this way again. Have I done my daily task?
I'll share my faith Have I kept my honor bright?
With every troubled heart For I shall have live in vain. Can I guiltless sleep tonight?
I'll give my hand Have I done and have I dared
I'll sing my song, I'll share my faith because I know--- Everything to be prepared? That the time has come To fulfill each vow For I may never pass this way again.
