A Place Where Dreams Come True

Roughly four years and six months ago, a marvelous innovation was introduced to the American
people. Disneyland has been a place of enjoyment, not only for the children, but for the adults as
well. It offered parents the chance to have fun alongside their child, rather than stand by and watch
him or her from the side. On a plaque located in Town Square, Main Street somewhere in the 160
acres of Disneyland, Walt Disney himself had his words etched upon it, dictating, “To all who come
to this place… WELCOME. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past…
and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the
ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America… with the hope that it will be a
source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

All of America has one time or another

experienced the magic Walt Disney has given
us. From Mickey Mouse to the beautiful
princesses of Disney including Snow White,
Cinderella and the Sleeping Beauty, Disney has
given children of all ages and genders something
to enjoy. These films not only offer people a
channel by which they could spend their leisure
time, but have a lasting effect on the viewers.

Disneyland is not only a fun amenity for people

of all ages; it has also set a precedent for theme
parks across the nation. Before the inception of
Disneyland, parks were solely made for the
recreation of children. Walt Disney himself
recalled a time when he would take his children
to a carousel in the park and then sit down on a
bench doing nothing while his children rode
around in circles. Disney’s dream of creating a
park where both parents and children could enjoy is embodied in Disneyland. Moreover, this
revolutionary park is based off the theme of Disney films and shows. The center of the park has a
lasting impact on everyone who visits with the magnificent castle of the Sleeping Beauty towering
over all. The rides are all based off Walt Disney’s movies, such as King Arthur’s Carousel and
Dumbo the Flying Elephant Ride. Where other parks may offer several roller coasters and carousels,
they are generic. Disneyland has revolutionized the theme park, something that will definitely be
reciprocated for decades to come.

In essence, Disneyland has captured the new vision of theme parks across the nation. Walt Disney’s
genius has resulted in a place where families and their children can enjoy together. Don’t miss out on
the chance to visit this gem of the decade!
