FILE

File is one of the most important tools in bench work. Miser has a steel rod that has
grater teeth whose basic material is made of high carbon steel.
The main function of the file is to file and flatten the surface of the workpiece. The length of a
file is the length of the body plus the stem.
The miserly cross section is made of various shapes, some are round, triangular, square,
transparent, rectangular, and flat. The usefulness of this type of cross section is to file a square
shape or gap and so on.

Types of file:

File based on the surface:

1. Single Toothed File.
In general, the file is finer than the double toothed file on the same number, because it is used for
finishing work. The position of the teeth crosses the 54-degree angle against the axis line. The
amber of thought does not quickly slip between the teeth of the stingy. It must be cleaned with a
miser brush.

2. Double Toothed File.

This double-toothed file in the inner deep groove is deeper than the shallow sculpture and this
groove has an angle of 70 degrees
The level of subtlety.
The level of subtlety is combined with the file size. Even though the smoothness number is the
same, but if the size is different, the smoothness is not the same. For example, the File 16 "is
coarser than the file 12" on the same smoothness number, and the file is rougher than the file 8
"on the same subtlety.
File Holder.
The file holder must be mounted
straight with the file handle and must be strong.
The used file must be handled or stemmed. if
this provision is ignored it will cause the hand to
be damaged due to the file joint rubbing directly
with the palm. The file holder must be drilled
first before attaching it to the stalk. The diameter
of the drill and its depth must be adjusted to the
file size. When installing, it can be done by first
heating the stalk until the red is gloomy, then the
file is put on the wooden handle to form the
right hole.

How to hold a file

The way to hold the file is as follows: The right hand holds the handle stiffly and press
the handle of the file with the palm of the lower hand.
The thumb is located above, while the other fingers are under the handle. While the left hand
holds the tip of the file with the palm of the hand and thumb tightly with each other fold down
but not holding the tip of the file. By holding a file like this will be able to file the workpiece
properly.

Body position when filing

Body position During filing, standing on the left side of the vise with the legs still
unchanged. The foot must be stretched by adjusting the length of the file. The angle between the
vise and the foot approaches 30 degrees for the left foot and 75 degrees for the right foot.
Body and foot movements The position of the body stands upright and slowly leaning forward
during cutting motion. The right leg stays straight. A straight view is always aimed at the
workpiece.
