NOTE 1: A company can comply with C-TPAT minimum-security requirements without participating in C-TPAT.
NOTE 2: C-TPAT eligible industries include Importers and Manufacturers; Air, Rail, and Sea Carriers; Freight Forwarders, Brokers, and
Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCCs), and U.S. Domestic Port Authorities and Marine Terminal Operators.
NOTE 3: Participation in C-TPAT is required for bringing goods from Canada to the U.S. through the FAST lane, just as participation in
PIP is required for bringing goods from the U.S. into Canada through the FAST lane.
NOTE 4: FAST is a “harmonized” processing system allowing U.S./Canada and U.S./Mexico importers, carriers, and commercial drivers
to utilize FAST lane processing to expedite the release of qualifying commercial shipments. Participation/certification requires
members to provide supply chain security of shipments from the loading docks to the border.
